I don't think the slapping, the burying alive, etc is a religious issue.

That is bad no matter what the religion is.

Arnav pushed Khushi off the first floor then married her against her will. I'm disgusted with myself for watching that show.

Same with QH. which pathetically enough I also watch.

I think this issue is a lot more broad than just religion.
Disclaimer- No offence meant.

RC,
I agree! Arnav was an ass most times! But that doesn't mean all Hindus are like him.

I agree with both of you in here.

This is a problem with Indian television more than that with a religion.

But I think you missed the point. The point is that IPK was never called a 'hindu' social drama. It was just an Indian drama. Period. When you use the term 'hindu' it means that there is some religious backing of what's being shown.

That's my problem. Were it just another drama, I would have been like, totally absolutely okay, After all, where doesn't crap exist? Just remove the label Gul.

Muslim Social drama you mean?

Yes I see how that can be off putting. Certainly.

Since this is the only Muslim show on Indian TV (I think?), it's more of a publicity.

It has Muslims and it's a drama ergo a Muslim drama.

Now IPK/all others weren't called a Hindu drama but I think since it's the Islam aspect of QH which makes it different the makers have capitalised on it.

I'm in no way supporting Gul Khan, quite frankly the woman pisses me off more often than not. But I don't think quoting a holy scripture saying this is against Islam is all that strong a case. Because all this is universal irrespective of religion.

Even I'm disgusted with myself for watching that show and I'm not watch this one either after finding out about the slap but I have to admit things have been taking too far here with man Physically abusing woman I wonder what to expect next in there 3 shows? I'm getting sick and tired of one theme over and over about angry young man they don't create Saas Bahu saga so the best they can do is show there hero as a jerk.

Arnav abused Khushi

AAK is abusing Zoya

But still people go OMG IPK it was so amazing (myself unfortunately included.) and with QH's 3.4 TRP well people are loving that as well.

The problem with Gul Khan is that she uses good looking actors for despicable scenes. We like Sobti not ASR. We like KSG not AAK.

So we indulge ourselves by watching these shows in spite of knowing that they are ethically/morally wrong.

Oh we both come from the same IPK land,😆 and I just need something to get started on Gul and her machinery.

Yep, that was my point you see. @bold- See? You just said the 'islamic' concept of QH. For a show which does not even follow Islamic concepts, it just makes it totally weird to capitalize on it under the label.

As far as quoting religious text is concerned, of course it would be pointless were this 'islamic concept' label not attached to it. But if they say, that such and such are Islamic principles, you can only turn to religious scriptures to prove that it is not the case.

That's what I said, this 'muslim social drama' is the entire problem here.

I need to have a sofa coffee with Gul soon. Could you get me a blue mug maybe?😆

I think the point was instead of having Satsangs they have Quran readings. 😆

That pretty much is the only difference between QH and any other show.

Man hitting a woman is bad.

What's the point of saying a Muslim man hitting a Muslim Woman is bad?

That takes away from the actual point at hand.

It makes it seem like people are reacting out of a religious mindset than actually realising that it is in fact wrong for a man to hit a woman.

Man hitting woman is bad.

Man being extremely rude to the woman is bad.

Woman consistently bowing down before the man on account of her obvious 'goodness' is bad.

Are these muslim problems? Of course not.

Hindu? No most certainly!

But breaching topics like bigamy etc, without any knowledge whatsoever, then calling it a 'muslim' social drama is like, not done.

No religion promotes violence, it's just the sick society mentality. So let it be that way. Don't bring the name of religion at all. No religion promotes crap and almost every society has crap as an essential element to it. Dragging Khushi inside a temple and smearing the sacred vermillion on her head forcibly? Is this hinduism. Not at all. But then IPK was never a hindu social drama.

If QH says it's just entertainment and not a Muslim Social Drama, it's all fine?

That's my point!

People should be enraged in spite of all that.

The point is not religion but the act.
