Hello friends! Today, June 5, is World Environment Day. A day to think consciously about our surrounding, about the environment. A day to be responsible and do something to save the environment that's getting degraded at a VERY fast rate!

On this day, let us all join our hands together to do something to save the mother earth. We all have a role to play in it - even the little steps do matter.

Here are some questions for you!

What are the two most important environmental issues that need to be take care of?
Can you think of innovative ways to manage the issues? How creative yet effective can you get?
What are the things we can do, at individual level, to save the environment?
And provided the rate at which the environment in being damaged, do you think the little environment friendly steps count?

Two Most Important Environmental Issues According to me are

1.Energy Conservation is of Immediate Necessity.

Walk,use bike,and take maximum use of Public Transport.As far as i know people who have Private Vehicles hesitate to take the Public Vehicles.This mentality should change.This will not only help in saving money but also help the Environment to be Pollution Free & Conservation of Energy.

2.Use Less Water & Keep it Clean

Freshwater supplies are much more limited, and today a third of the world's people lack access to clean drinking water.95% of cities still dump raw sewage into their water supplies. Recent studies show that about 80% of the illness occurring in developing countries can be linked to unsanitary water.
Use only as much water as you need, don't waste the water you do use, and avoid doing anything to taint or endanger water supplies.

The small steps taken in Individual level counts a lot.

Agreed. Today was a Very HOT day! But, I didn't put my fans on because I wanted to save energy ,

Limit the use of plastics

Two important environmental issues at present are -

1.Global Warming

2.Solid Waste Management

Global Warming - everybody knows what global warming actually is......but just knowing about it wont help....one needs to do something about it..........one of the major causes of glocal warming is pollution but then what is the cause of pollution.....???its just not the vehicles and industrial wastes that we dump in the atmosphere that are the main cause of it....one needs to understand about the ecosystem as well........

Forest eocsystem plays a very vital role.....it not only provides us with raw materials but also helps in maintaining the water cycle which in turn affects the climatic conditions...........and by cutting down of these forest we not only rdestroy the raw materials that we get form it but also alter the water cycle which has adverse affects on climate

India today has 12% of its area under forest cover whereas it should have been 33%.......

we should use our available resources "sustainably" and " judiciously"

Coming to the solid waste management issue......we all know that industries dump their wastes in the waterbodies...also municipal solid wastes are directly dumped into the waterbodies through sewage pipes........these wastes are mainly organic matters which needs certain amount of oxygen for their breakage which in turn is known as "BOD which stands for Biological Oxygen Demand".....this in turn creates anoxic zones in the waterbodies thereby lowering the level of oxygen and affecting the marine ecosystem and the quality of water..........

ways to improve the condition

People need to be educated about the environment.......only then they will understand the importance of the environment

1.Use of public transport is one way of improving the condition.........but for that the government should put into place proper infrastructue and public transportat facilities........

2.Treatment of sewage wastes before dumping into the waterbodies needs to be done......this reduces the BOD of the wastes

3.Vermicomposting-if possible this method should be adopted ...it not only is an effective way of managing wastes but also helps in making the soil fertile and rich

the rate at which the environment is being damaged is alarming-

1.UK needs to invest over 10 billion in waste facilities

2.By 2050 there will be 2 billion people worldwide at the risk of devastating floods due to global warming

a rise in 3 m sea level would mean submerging of areas such as bangladesh and maldives

any step whether small or big counts right now........we need to be serious about tackling these issues.........

m included in saving the earth!!

use less CFC's containing appliances which causes destruction to ozone which protects from heavy rays!!!

Plant more trees to protect food chain of forests!!!

Solid waste management ...

Various norms r going on & we should co-operate wid them!!!

We shud make a habit to keep our vehicle pollution checked!!!!

& many more things r there....if we keep thinking abt our earth then we can save it!!!

global warming

we should conserve our natural resources byn using alternatives such as non-renewable resources

we should use more resources which cause less pollution in the enviroinment

we should stop or lessen the use of cfcs which will help in preventing the depletion of ozone layer thus prevening global warming

What are the things we can do, at individual level, to save the environment?

we can reduce the use of chemicals and things that pollute the environment

we should stop cutting trees and instead plant more and more

we should stop killing animals and preserve our wildlife😃

we should learn that if animals and plants r not there then natural cycle of the environment cannot be maintained😭

And provided the rate at which the environment in being damaged, do you think the little environment friendly steps count?

yes,each n every useful step counts

even if one person saves a single drop of water it counts

we cannot ignore the environmental issues and should tell everyone else also that they should take care of mother natue

Driving is one of the main problems, it releases compounds that react with air and increase concentration of the green house gases that affect the climate hence global warming. Atmospheric pollution is one of the main causes of contaminated drinking water. So drive ONLY when necessary.
