Chapter 4 : STRANGER? OR NOT?
"Oh! For God's sake, use your brains you dumbass. Kitni baar, kitni baar maine tumhe bola hain ki aise hi kahi se tapak maat paro. Raghav ko zara bhi bhanak pari na ki tum mujhse milne aaye ho, toh pata bhi hain woh kya karega tumhare saath? O God! I'll go crazy now. Matlab tum..."
A slim figured damsel, wearing a black hoodie, black goggles and a mask was whisper yelling at another masked man. Pacing from right to left, and then left to right, and also making sure that no one was eavesdropping their conversation, the damsel was visibly panicking. But, before she could continue any further, the another man, who was till now lazily leaning against a black Range Rover's bonnet, intervened,
"Are, yaar. Chup ho jaa. Pichle aadhe ghante se gyaan de chuki hain. Aab baas bhi kar. Sorry bola na Maine.."
"Oh! Really! Tumhare ek sorry se toh puri duniya badal jayegi na. Dimag bol ke cheez diya hain bhagwan ne, uska use hi karlo kabhi kabar. And waise bhi, meri tumhari katti hain. Yaad haina? You know what mujhe lagta hain ki mujhe na bhai ko sab bata dena chahiye tumhare bare mein, fir itni maar padegi na..."
"STOP!!!!", yelled the masked man.
"Have you gone nuts, itna zor ka kaun chillate hain? Kisi ne dekh liya na maare jayenge dono. Waise bhi tumhare toh itne saare dushman hain..."
"Chup kar bak-bak train. Pallu I swear tune ek baat aur bola na to main cliff se kud jaunga. Tu meri baat toh sunle yaar..."
Yes, dear readers, this "bak-bak train" is none other than our one and only Mrs. Pallavi Raghav Rao.
The masked man was irritated by Pallavi to a limit that one percent more of her bak-bak would push him to the limits. Sensing his annoyance, Pallavi shushed down, letting the other man speak out.
Man:" Finally tu chup ho gayi ! And sunn maine pehle jo kuch bhi kiya haina, woh sab ke liye I am really really sorry. Woh sab maine chor diya hain. I swear on you, main woh sab kuch nahi karunga fir se."
Pallavi nodded silently, her anger melting, for she knew that the person standing opposite to her, would never let her down. Yeah, maybe he went astray once, but again, not a chance. She believed him, she loved him, she respected him.
(Nope, readers neither is this a flashback, nor the person is Raghav...twist😜)
Man : "Par baat, abhi woh nahi hain, baat yeh hain ki Pallu tune Kolhapur jane ke liye kaise decide kar liya, yeh jaante huye ki teri jaan ko waha khatra hain? Woh Devraaj aur Vicky tujhe dhund rahe honge, tu fir bhi jana chahti hain? Upar se full family ko liye jaana chahti hain? Dimag theek haina tera? Kyu aapne jaan ko danger mein daal Rahi Hain."
Pal: "Chill Karo na baba. Raghav jayega na mere saath, mujhe kuch nahi hone dega woh. Bohot pyaar karta hain mujhse...."
Saying so in a whisper, Pallavi's thoughts drifted to one fine night in the RR Mansion, when Raghav had confessed his love. The innocence his eyes bore, the emotions evident from his chiseled face, the unknown warm vibes radiating of his body was sending chills down her spine. His hold on her, was soft yet firm. Whenever they made love, the hold he had, the soft lingering kisses he peppered over her, the way he worshipped her body, the way their bodies would lay tangled in each other, everything, everything about it was heavenly. It was like a medicine, healing her wounded heart and body. She remembered how he had noticed the bluish mark on her chest one night, and had told her, "Pallavi, yeh kaisa mark hain? Tumhe chot laga tha?"
When Pallavi hesitated, he dropped the matter, saying whenever she would be comfortable, she might let him know. Raghav, she knew, had a gift of reading one's eyes. But, for Pallavi, her one action was more than enough for him to understand what was going on in her. He loved her that much. Her heart had already broken once. She was married off to Mandar, not because of societal pressure, as most people thought. It was simply because her brothers wanted her to stay alive. Her life was at stake. THEY would kill her if they came to know where she was. Her brothers couldn't afford to lose her, not at least after they had lost so much. Pallavi's heart wanted love, she made herself occupied by doing Deshmukh Emporium's job, but it would pain occasionally. Now the pain had subsided, Raghav being the reason. She, no doubt, loved him.
Her chain of thoughts were disturbed by a jerk. The other man had jerked her hand.
Man: " Kaha kho gayi? ... Dekh main Raghav ko tere janne pehle se jaanta hu. Woh bohut passionate hain apno ko lekar. Par use kuch bhi nahi pata tere baare mein. Aur Raghav apnon ko musibat mein dekh ke ghabra jaata Hain.."
Pal : " Ghabrata hain, lekin har nahi maanta. I feel safe with him."
Man : "Ok. Fir bhi risk thora zyada nahi ho gaya? Pallavi mera dil bohut zor se keh raha ke itna bara risk mat le." Holding her arms and pulling her closer, he said, " Tujhe khone ka himmat nahi hain aur. Please iss baat ko samajh."
The man's eyes were red by now. Pain. Her eyes teared up seeing him almost breaking down. Pulling him into a bear hug, she replied,
"Aaj tumne mujhse mil kar jo daredevil kaam kiya haina, uske saamne yeh toh kuch bhi nahi. But I promise you, humne Jo bhi khoya hain na, unki bharpai unhe karni hi padegi. Unhe saza milega. Jo unhone shuru kiya hain, uska ant main Kolhapur mein karke aungi. And. Mujhe kuch nahi hoga. Believe me."
Man : " I believe u Pallu. Par Bhai ka dil haina, Darr toh lagta hain."
Pal :" Thik hain, thik hain. Aab isse pehle ki humein koi dekhe niklo yaha se. Agar Raghav ne dekh liya na tumhe jail mein daal dega."
Man :" Ok. ok. Haa raha hu. Aab toh tu humari behen nahi rahi. Jab dekho Raghav aur Raghav."
Saying so, the man got into the Range Rover, and turned the engine on. Before he moved away, Pallavi thrusted her head in, placing a sloppy kiss on the cheek of the man and said,
"Thanks Ved, meri itna khayal rakhne ke liye. Aur dada ko bhi thanks kehna. Tum dono Jo mere liye karte hona, sach mein I feel overwhelmed to have brothers like you. Thank you."
Ved, placing his hand on his sister's head, said, "We will always be there for you."
Saying so, he pulled out of the road, leaving behind a weeping Pallavi.
Raghav's den ------
Raghav on a call :" Definitely Mr. Sahani. I'll be very much honoured to work with you."
Caller:" Then can we have a meeting tomorrow at your office?"
Rag:" Uhhh...sorry Mr. Sahani, but actually I'll be out of station for some time. However we can do a meeting on call if you insist."
Caller :" Well then, we'll do it over phone. But, agar aap bura na maane toh kyaa main puch sakta hu ki aap kaha Jaa rahe hain?"
Rag:" Absolutely! I won't mind at all. Actually main apne wife aur family ke saath Kolhapur ja raha hain."
Caller:" Oh I see. Well then, have a safe journey."
Call ends.
Caller:" Woahh Woahh! That was easy peezy. Let's see Raghav Rao, apni biwi ko kab taak safe rakh pate ho. Vickram Sahani ko hara nahi sakti tum darling Pallavi. It won't be long before you submit to me that key that you have hidden up so long. Time has come now to have what we want."
An evil smirk comes on his face.
Scene ends.
