Yes, it went on for only about 6 months. So, should be around 192 episodes. According to me this is one of the best ever series on ZM. Surprising that you missed it totally. Do watch it. So, different from current lot with no villans and all.

Yes this was a very short serial (by serial standards) and that exactly was the reason that it was sweet.

IMO, tastes have not changed.
The problem is channel owners want to run serials for thousands of episodes and so the plot is lost.
TPR is a prime example of that.
There are some good serials on Sony Marathi too.
Ambedkar's serial is also good but there is hardly any discussion on it here. I especially liked the confrontation between Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.

More than the taste I think a certain laziness has set in in the entertainment industry. They are just not bothered to pay actual writers. Story same ahe saglikade, bas nat-natya badalat jatatbaki sagla same ahe. Cheapness, flashy jewelery/ clothes, cringe worthy villains.
Even ELDG, or SGP or even IPKKND had common storylines but the treatment given to the story was different which is what made them so different. I guess it does take a little courage on everyone's part to make such shows. Otherwise aajkal jasa movies kadhi yetat kadhi jatat kalat nahi tasach shows cha pan zalay. Kadhi ale, kadhi gele no one knows🥱

I am sorry, but I completely disagree with you guys.
Having watched both serials, IMO, ELTG is a much better serial than ELDG 👍🏼 even the title song of ELTG is better
