Actually if you look at the concept of GOD , it is the same ..When you look at The people of book they believe in the one God . some of the concepts of trinity of 3 in 1 and 1 in 3 is somewhat similiar to masala-e- juzz o kul in sufism .
When you look at Hinduism, their Vedas believe in one God . The God who creates(brahama) sustains(vishnu)and destroys (shiva) there is a further progression of idea in which Brahama can reicarnate itself /rebirth . Ram was the 3rd and Krishna was the 7th incarnation
The other dieties are also the attributes of God
There is an Alim who claims that the Hindus were the Saibeens mentioned in Quran and their prophet was Nooh.
I will have to check my Vedas translation to properly quote the name of the prophet/Lord
Now when you look at Islam , you have Allah who is one , Rehman and Raheem ,Qahar and Jabbar, Qudoos and jabroot ,and 99 names
Hinduism had taken those properties and made them into idols . and then the common practices continued to change
Same way when you look at todays Islam , which do you follow , deyobandi, barelvi, sunni, shia, ahle-sunnat or hanafi, shafai .. these are all iterpretations .
