Looked very odd 😆 .
Sorry ! It's not funny but I couldn't stop laughing at Andhak's participation in the entire samudra-manthan drama .

Overall it looks funny. Child labour should be banned in any era. 😆

With the way things are going on this show, I think children should be banned from watching it.

Visual medium is very potent, and impressionable minds watching this stuff - not a good state of affairs.🤢

Overall, I myself am just skimming -because I like watching Pooja Sharma. Although even that might not be able to hold me for too long! It causes too much heartache😭

Yes we should keep our children away from this show...it is not funny.
Anthakasur churning the ocean with Sukracharya...my god!

What does UN think of Sukracharya who is so learned,a tapasvi who possessed mrita Sanjivini.. He will churn the ocean?

While UN did not leave Siva himself what to talk about Sukracharya...Pagalpan meri..

I just wanted to jump in to quickly add something; forgive me if I get a bit political.
Deciding which mediums children can learn of and about religion is censorship. We should NOT be encouraging parents/families to unilaterally decide what children can and cannot learn. India already has a massive issue with separating church from state. Children are highly impressionable, yes; however, children are also highly inquisitive. They should be encouraged to learn and explore. This serial is the perfect opportunity for parents to discuss the canonical mythology wity their children.

I also wanted to add: you are absolutely right to be upset. In camon, Shiva was never harmed by the Halahala. In fact, Parvati only stopped it from spreading because she was concerned--and that highlights the strength of their divine union. I personally don't mind what the serial is showing, but I do empathize with how you as viewers feel. I suppose they're just trying to emphasize Mahakali's power as the Supreme Protector. But I agree: this current track is undoubtedly strange.

So UN is following maa Tara's story in Mahakaali. Now let me share the story of Maa Tara with you all, actually the version of Maa Tara is very popular in our Bengali culture and we have been hearing this story of Samudramanthan and Tara devi through generations.

The oral tradition gives an origin to the goddess Tara. The legend begins with thechurning of the oceanbetween theDevasandAsuras. LordShivadrank the poison (Halahala) that was created from the churning of the ocean (in the process turning his throat blue and earning him the epithet Nilakantha), thus saving the world from destruction, but fell unconscious under its powerful effect. MahadeviDurgaappeared as Maa Tara and took Shiva on her lap. She suckled him, the milk from her breasts counteracting the poison, and he recovered. This story is reminiscent of the one in which Shiva stops the rampaging Kali by becoming an infant. Seeing the child, Kali's maternal instinct comes to the fore and when she was feeding him her breast milkShivasucked her rage out while sucking the milk. In both cases, Shiva assumes the position of an infant vis--vis the Goddess. Mainly Tara is a form of Durga . As Per Shakti Mahabhagwat, She is the one who created 1st Seed from which the entire universe took birth in the form of LordNarayana. Since he was Non manifested divinity so next Mahavidya expanded him so that manifested divinity LordVishnutook birth from him.

but I really don't know in which version it is written that child Andhak and Sukhracharya participated in Samudra manthan so don't ask me anything abt it.🤣

With due respect to Sakteya versions adopted by UN for this show as I mentioned in my main post I can not bear to see Siva falling unconcious to be redeemed by Mahakali or Tara. By the way I know Tara's story as I wrote it in my Dasa Maha vidyas post. Tara holding Siva on her lap etc.. I read.
But as a strict Siva devotee I can't bear to see my Shiv helpless...
He is Sadashiv who is Anadi Sourceless. He is self born..The ultimate reality..

So I am not interested in UN's versions ..

I can rejoice reminiscing my Nila kanth Mahadev stand firm despite swallowing poison with graceful Adisakti Parvati by his side admiringly looking at him by placing her hand on his neck thereby stopping the poison to go down and harm the creation. It was beautifully shot in that show which incidentally was written by UN only. The moment I must admit won my heart..just validating what my dadi narrated to me in my childhood...

@payel
Thanks for the post.

But it seems to be more folk tale (is that right?), in any case not something I can get my head around.

I have read other versions, nothing about Shiva losing consiousness... (I shudder everytime !!!)

Even though I cannot take it to heart, if you read this story - it in itself is projecting a lesson. UN has once again twisted it up and lost what it was about.

I'm not sure whether this story is taken from Puran but a priest of Maa Tara temple in Tarapith told me this story once and you'll also find this version on google if you search abt maa Tara.
