Well they better cover ALL of it + there are many isolated individual avatars of Parvati - Sheetaladevi , Bhramari , Meenakshi , Annapurna & many more and each one of them I believe has an interesting story , hope they cover all of it .. I mean this is the best platform so far to explore Adi Parashakthi in detail , the makers ought to make the best out of it .. DKDM explored almost all of the avatars of Shiva in detail , no reason why this series shouldn't do the same for Parvati ..

Another question - we know the Navdurga & the Dasham Mahavidya but what about 'the Matrika' - aren't they also forms of Adishakthi ? .. I believe goddesses like Narsimhi , Chamundeshwari , Indrani ( feminine forms of all male deities ) form the Matrikas .. I think they are warrior goddesses summoned by Durga .. But how many Matrikas are there - 6 ? 7 ? 10 ? 11 ? 😕 .. Some even say Matrikas shouldn't be worshipped as they are considered errr inauspicious 😕, not sure how much truth is there to that ..🤔 .. I know Dasham Mahavidyas aren't meant to be worshipped by ordinary folks ( especially goddesses like Dhumavati ) , only tantra sadhana experts can dare to carry out poojas for Mahavidyas ..but Matrikas are still a mystery to me ..

Matrikas r 8 jaha tak I have knowledge n they help devi mahakaali to kill rakhtabeej in war which is shown in series also.. the Matrikas r 1) Brahmani 2) Vaishnavi 3) Maheshwari 4) Indrani/Aindri/Mahendri/Shakri/Shachi/Vajri 5) Kaumari/Kumari/Kartiki/karttikeyani/Ambika 6) Varahi 7) Chamunda/Chandi/Chamundi/Charchika 8) Narsimhi r the main Matrikas which we all known...there r several others but some ppl said they r not n some believe they r Yami, Yogeshwari, Gananatika or Vinayaki n Mahabhairavi
they all r wives of devas n always considered as mothers thats why we call them Matrikas.. they all r naari shakti roop of different devas.. jaise devi Parvati ka warrior roop Mahakaali hai vaise hi ye sab warriors roop thi different devis ki.. inhe mahakaali ka hi roop kahte hai cause kaha jata hai ki adishakti har naari ke andar h aise hi kaali bhi sabke andar hai aur jab vo bahar aati hai to sabka swaroop alag hota h.. there r some temples for them.. kuchh jagah pooja hoti hai but sab jagah nahi kyunki kai log in baato par believe nahi karte cause jyada milta nahi hai is bare me to kuchh log mante hai aur kuchh nahi but show me yeh dikhana chahiye cause yeh bhi jaruri hai

THIS !!

Intne saare Matrikas , some are accounted properly , some aren't .. isileyi exact count of Matrikas pe itna confusion hain ..

This series has tremendous potential .. let's see how much of it they are able to show & in what way they bring it on screen .. the problem with today's mytho series is they take too much liberty in dramatization ; in an attempt to get their target audience hooked , they go the usual daily-soap route & end up ruining the authenticity of the original scriptures ... sometimes the deviations happen when they attempt to connect one plot with another .. DKDM had the same issue .. they even went as far as linking the tale of Goddess of Bhramari to the birth of lord Ayyappa just to ensure continuity of the plots.. DKDM even messed up with the timelines of the various events .. i just hope the makers of this show try to avoid it as much as possible .. i understand that there are various interpretations & varied versions of one story in our scriptures but coming up with entirely cooked up plot ruins the viewing experience for me .. in this aspect , i still cherish my childhood favorite 'Om Namah Shivay' ..they didnt have to come up with fictional links between two different plots .. the 'Omkar' as an anchor maintained continuity of the show whenever there was a change in plot .. 😆

Some consider Ambika as milder form of Maa Durga.
Ambika is more popularly worshiped in Gujarat. Navratri is celebrated in her honour.
The very famous Aarasuri Ambaji temple is near Aabu. A yantra is decorated like Amba maa's idol here.
Gabbar is the Shakti peeth near Ambaji temple. Which has Akhand Jyot not an idol. Replicas of 51 Shakti peeth temples are made around Gabbar Hill.

As per Durga Saptashati, After killing Mahishasur, Devi merged in Parvati. She later appeared from Parvati, when Devas prayed to Aadi Shakti to save them from Shumbh Nishumbh.

^^ What Minakshi said is right. Navaratri in Gujarat is for Ambe Ma, who emerged from Parvati.

I agree with Shre and Minakshi as well :)
Ambe is a form in Gujarat. Down South, almost all forms are Amman, and are like warrior Goddess Mothers, who always protect their devotees

The story of Kaushiki's birth is mentioned in the Matsya Purana and Markandeya Purana, with both the texts different. As in the Matsya Purana, Goddess Parvati once performed austerities and meditation to become fair (Gouri). It is said that from the skin She sloughed off from her body emerged the beautiful and dark-complexioned goddess Kaushiki. After that, Kaushiki went to Vindhyas and slayed Shumbha and Nishumbha, two demons who had gained the boon of immortality from Brahma. The same is in the Shiva Purana.

In the Markandeya Purana, once when the Asuras (demons) drove the gods out of the heavens, they sought the help of Goddess Parvati. Pleased by them, she appeared, and from the cells (koshas) of her body emerged the beautiful goddess Kaushiki, who declared that she would marry him who managed to defeat her in battle. Later she slayed the demons and the gods could return to the heavens.
