It was such a brilliant decision to take SRJ as Shiva.ππYes there were some apprehensions about him playing Shiva since we are used to him as Krishna/Vishnu.But then there was also this excitement to see him in a totally different character altogether. For though both Mahadev and Vishnu are mythological characters they are different from each other. And it's a test of an actor's potential to play these two different characters properly.Needless to say SRJ topped this test.
As Vishnu we saw a different side of his acting. He brought out the calmness and the serenity which Narayan possess. Then he played Krishna with which he took his acting to a different level. He succesfully brought out all shades of Krishna.Be it Parth's Madhav,Sakhi's Govind,Subhadra's bhrata or Dau's Kanha.Be it the natural playfulness or the powerful aura during which he acted as Arjun's charioteer.Be it the affectionate manner in which he taught us all the valuable lessons or the pure fury which he displayed when he cursed Ashwathama,SRJ excelled every time. Now he is playing Mahadev.Mahadev is one of the most fascinating figures in Hindu mythology who is one with several aspects.Sometimes he is Shankar while sometimes he is Bhairav. As a fan I was excited to see how SRJ brings out all these aspects of Shiva onscreen. And I was met with something which surpassed my expectations. He started as Shankar who is calm enough to bring out the Kali within Parvati. Then he played Mahakaal to perfection. Now he left me awestruck with his BhairavβοΈThe SRJian within me is feeling proud of being his fan and admirer. He is an extremely versatile actor and powerful performer.
Lovely analysis.. π
