My answer to the poll is Yes.. cant be sure how useful it would have been for Duryodhan had he not promised.. but talking about friendship I think he did put him down to an extent.. but that is same as giving away his kavach kundal.. Principle first..

@diala I agree his resolve broke after knowing the truth. I remember a dialog.in brc something like"ye nafrat hi to meri puji thi jiske sahare main jee raha tha.aj apne wo bhi chhin liya vasudev.he did put down dury to some extent and hey I am not complaining.I understand why he did what he did.but as per dury perspective yep dury somehow lost at this front too.poor guy.

wouldn't the best solution have been that karna should have arrested YudhisHtra
he did defeat him in the battle so he just should have arrested him, no one would have died and war would have been won
