Guys please dont quote more than one post.. am feeling really uncomfortable reading 😭.. it is also a rule of the AT but above that it looks ugly 🤢.. lets not pollute our beautiful palace guys..

In fact we can't say Vrusali was his soul mate or any thing. Yes, she was his beloved wife , n no doubt they're happy, but that was it. No soul mate connection.
His other wife is as much a contender of being called his soul mate as is Vrusali, we'll be being really unfair to her otherwise.

If they show something that directly contradicts the epic, it's worth criticizing.

But if they create things from a clean slate where nothing is known, some leeway can be given. For instance, nothing is known about Ambika or Ambalika, but they decided to pattern Ambika after Dhritarashtra & Ambalika after Pandu. It wasn't a distortion per se, since little is known.

seriously Panchu.. Am so very happy to have special rules for our AT.. end of day they are gonna make out AT look better than the rest.. so I welcome them.. no intention to hurt or disagree with Gargi or anyone who dislike this difference but I do feel comfortable with the special treatment.. 😳

Janemaya, who was the Vyasa disciple whose Ashwamedhika Parva was the one that had Vrishaketu, is the only one who could have written about Vrushali. Vyasa leaves her unnamed in Stri Parva.

Does anyone know whether any parva of his work other than Ashwamedhika Parva was ever available or read? That's the only place where Vrushali could have been described.

Actually in all other forums of IF that I've visited , the exact same rules are applied n enforced in all the ATs, so obviously I got to be shocked na , that here the scenerio is some thing altogether different. 😳

But once I know, I'm okay with it ! 😃

By the way, still didn't understand the logic of comparing Hindi with other regional languages. With all respect to all regional languages ( my vernacular is bengali by the way , so I'm myself from a regional language ), Hindi is after all our national language. Our Govt. gave it this place, n recognized it as such.

It's really sad that we can consider a completely foreign language as our medium of communication , but not our own national language.

I myself always write in English as I'm comfortable in it. But I've noticed members some times use very poor English to communicate , when they could write in fluent perfect Hindi. That's why I was saying all these. Not for myself.

Anyways, if this is the rule , I'll not protest. I respect all rules. But still don't see eye to eye with them or the logic behind imposing them.

But to survive in this AT, I'll maintain them none the less.
