My thoughts exactly. I was dissappointed with her to begin with because we were spoiled sort of with such startling performances from 1st/2nd generation that came prior to her entry, likes of Gandhari, Satyavati, Dhritarashtra, Bheeshma, Shakuni(with the latter it don't bother me that his image is caricature like, it adds character doesn't it?) So most of them are recurring characters who act with brilliant confidence and conviction, what to speak of a brc comparison where his Kunti projected grace and solemn dignity without having to even utter a single word. This one seemed very feeble to start with but she improves, yet she fails to scratch that level as set by the previous characterisation from the famous brc. And I also do hope they sort her look for when she has to play mother to 5 grown men(!) somehow it worked in Brc maybe as that Kunti had an air of maturity to her whereas 'modern' Kunti frankly speaking just looks ..inexperienced.

Shafaq is a good actress...hav watched her earlier in episodics...but she needs to improve on her expressions...as sometimes she looks so blank..but i just loved her acting when she lets Karna go when he was born also when Karna touches her feet when she returns to hastinapur with the Pandavas..
