Absolutely agree with post, the only motive for portraying shock and turning Madri like that is to victimize Kunti so to make viewers feel more sorry for Kunti as if we would'nt have regardless of the pathetic display of uneccesary shock and acting helpless on Kuntis side, and Madris vamp like image. It seems that we cant quite come out of that Star plus mode where acting is limited to looking dumbfounded and shocked, innocent and pretty, throwing the villain/vamp look etc. that heavily dictates all the uninspired style of acting one sees in cheesy Indian soaps.
I think its safe to say that Brchopras is more authentic though it had its own flaws like totally brushing aside the inner darker feelings that might have been experienced by these women, it was insinuated at moments through Kunti quiet and telling expressions, but she quickly overcame that dark cloud of jealousy when she put duty above all else, n I do wish Br chopras had invested into those natural feelings a bit more. But this one just overcompensates to the point of being uneccessary and everthing has emphasis for dramatical effect, everything is spelled out leaving no space for thought- I don't think the majority of indian directorslproducers even understand the language of subtlety.
Peter brooks Mahabharata on the other hand achieved the balance of showing the discomfort between the women of the palace that can be read through their subtle acting.

yes there are two versions of this that i know. one in which madri died as sati in pandu's pyre..second she died of guilt and heartbreak due to pandu's death and considered herself guilty of pandu's death..

Absolutely right!

Shock on the part of Kunti was natural. Even Gandhari having empathy for Kunti is acceptable.

But the way Bheesma looked shocked, Satyavati and the two mothers looked unhappy, and Vidura was stammering to justify the marriage, it seemed as if Pandu has committed a crime. Well, it's a crime in today's India, but it was not in ancient times.

In original, it was Bheesma who arranged marriage of Pandu and Madri - one reason was Madri's beauty and the other was for political alliance.

I actually think that they wanted to show.madri as an immature and young girl!!
As she was very young when she got married so maybe they wanted to show her as someone who doesnt think before speaking!!

I am in no way promoting polygamy, but I was confused why CVs are acting as if it was nonexistent in Mahabharat times. 😕 Why was everyone shocked to see Madri in today's episode? Granted, it was unnecessary and melodramatic to show her coming so soon after Pandu's marriage to Kunti, but it was very common back in those days for Kings to fight wars and come back with a new wife. Today, everyone acted as if Pandu had committed a big crime by marrying Madri, but in actuality, they would not have been surprised at all.

Madri's attitude towards Kunti was also out of line and unrealistic. A new bride who had just come into the household would feel apprehensive and shy. She would not make an enemy out of her co-wife, at least not so soon. I have no problem with Madri being shown proud and arrogant, but to show her having an attitude problem this soon into her marriage was unrealistic.

How many agree with me?

pandu's marriage was initiateed by bheeshm only and bheeshm wanted second marriage for pandu and spoke to madra naresh and madra naresh said that in our custom groom gives dowry so bheeshm had given a lot of daowry to madri's father and he got the marriage done

this mahabharat is fake 😆
