Out of curiousity and boredom, just want to know if there has been any scene so far that you were struck by in these early days of the story?
I recall the scene where Dhritarashtra storms out after being denounced incapable of bearing the role of king, and the follow up scenes with Gandhari where he breaks down sobbing leading Gandhari ever the patient, loyal, and loving wife to comfort him, he welcomes her affection before his male ego and pride promptly resurfaces again and he pushes her away. The scene was well enacted by both. One feels emphathy towards him at that point by virtue of his fate of being blind, something not within his control, something which has afforded him nothing but suffering, the anguish translated well, also his feverish state was expressed well as he switches quickly from one emotion to the next.

I quite agree, that was a most glorious entry supported by theme music evoking the splendour and grandeur of Bheeshma..he's role has been on mute for the moment as others are being introduced, but he is not only the backbone of Hastinapur but the story itself and fortunately will resurge once the story picks up pace again with the 3rd generation. For now the show seems comfortably content to simply indulge amongst the external anxieties and emotions of its characters without really drawing us in. Everything is a facade, there are a one or two who are total let downs, and as the story presently focusses on them, I grow impatient as a viewer, there is a certain lack of credibility with the acting and characterisation, the wives of Pandu, bad acting, for someone like Kunti who was graceful and virtuous, and to have an actress who is flat, seems too feeble to induce that dignified presence that Br Chopra and Peter Brooks Kuntis possessed, lacking grace and convinction is shameful, and I'm sorry that its so. Madris characterisation is just awful.
