Raj Zutshi on TV after 15 years
TNN | May 29, 2012, 12.00AM ISTActor Raj Zutshi is returning to TV after a hiatus of 15 years with Colors' Madhubala... Ek Ishq, Ek Junoon, as the uncrowned ruler of Motihari, a small district in Bihar.
An old face in an all new avatar, Raj plays the character of Balraj Choudhary, a whimsical man who is a catalyst for setting the show in motion. "The character of Balraj Choudhary is one of the strongest ones that I have played till date. It's quirky and well etched and I am excited to connect back with my television audience after so many years," he says. Zutshi is seen donning a kurta and churidaar with long hair and is accessorised in gold. He is a man with frightening laughter and convoluted ideas that has everyone petrified.
The show that launched last night at 8.30 is apparently the first television show to be shot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Since the show is set against the backdrop of the Indian film industry and gives a glimpse into the lives of Bollywood stars, the producers of the show wanted to maintain the authenticity and recreate the magic of the silver screen on the television screen. On shooting at Ramoji, Raj said, "I was nervous about shooting for a television show after close to 15 years. Since Madhubala is based against the backdrop of the film industry, it was only apt that the show be shot at real film locations like Ramoji to give it that opulence and magnificence. Not just the sets but also the treatment is of the same grandeur and magnitude as a film."
