I think Karishma's fatal flaw is her ego, but I loved her regardless because of her passion, and because of the 'bhaukaal' she has maintained despite being a woman. She has made some super insulting comments, personal attacks and cruel accusations on Haseena when her ego was hurt, and I absolutely hated seeing that part of her. But she regretted and apologized almost everytime (though I would've liked to hear even a word different than the "hum bohot sharminda hai, hume maaf kar dijiye" dialogue, cmon girl say what you're sorry for this time and why).

To be honest, it makes me uncomfortable when I see her demand credit, because in society we are always taught to be humble and say 'oh its nothing' when praised. On the contrary, Karishma loves the attention, the praise, the power. But when I think deeper, I realize that its not entirely ego, sometimes its a matter of self respect. Poor thing has been shown that she never do anything good enough on her own, and the whole city may bow at her feet but her close ones always think she's always wrong. Most ppl would sulk and get inferiority complex but hats off to Karishma for always believing in herself and standing up for herself.

And despite all that ego we see on the surface, she'll let go of every ego and self-respect to do what she's passionate about. The way Haseena insults her at times, I swear I would be so ashamed or frustrated that I would never bother arguing with her again. But when the next case comes, Karishma is still fearless and puts her point across (but please change the dialogue "iss baar aap kuch mat boliye MS, humko apne tareeke se solve karne dijiye", we've memorized it already).

Writer's fatal flaw in making Karishma is the lack of brain - can she ever get a lightbulb moment in any case? Sure she's a sidekick but damn all her dialogues are literally just filmy dialogue threats or nonsense bantering. Please give her more to think and say yaar, even Santu is getting smart tech ideas, even Cheetah gives woman psychology inputs. She's had a few moments to shine, and in those the whole team praises her like wow we didn't know you could think so deep.

Worst scenes of Karishma - when she was openly disrespected, like eve-teased on Holi or threatened by a criminal or had ink thrown on face etc. And she could do nothing to retaliate because the criminals would have a change of heart soon, or she was told "kis kis ko maaregi aap". A citizen insults/threatens/hurts a police and they cannot be beaten, or even slapped once? We all want the society's mindset to change and violence is not healthy, but let's accept - we all have some inner satisfaction in seeing criminals get physically punished for their crimes, even if its as minimal as a slap.

Agreed with most of the things you mentioned. The makers really need to start showing Karishma as someone with the calibre and not just an incompetent officer who is nothing without her senior.

Thanks!
Not to start an argument or anything, but out of genuine curiousity, what wouldn't you agree with? Would love to hear a different perspective or analysis.

Areh... don't worry.... no arguments... healthy discussions are always welcome 😊

You mentioned that Haseena had also humiliated Karishma. I wasn't sure where. In comparison to Karishma humiliating and making personal digs at Haseena, I don't remember Haseena falling to that level. Haseena has scolded her, called her arrogant, short-tempered, egoistic, short-sighted etc etc and in most cases, she has said those as a senior who felt violence would not solve the problem but I have never seen her making any majorly derogatory statements against Karishma. For the above statements, I can see where Haseena's frustration comes from because when Karishma's bhaukaal backfires she as the leader faces the full brunt of it. So basically I wasn't sure how Haseena insulted her so badly.

If you could give me instances, it would help me understand better. 😊

You're right, Haseena has never humiliated Karishma, especially relative to some of the nonsense Karishma has spoken in anger (honestly those words haunt me sometimes when I'm admiring the Kareena bond). Haseena has always maintained dignity and formality in everything she says, so definitely she hasn't stooped to that level.
I think I wrote that Haseena has insulted Karishma at times. By that I meant scolding on a personality level like - you're incapable of thinking before you act, all you know is laat and ghusa, you will never be able to control your anger, you will never be able to change your ways in life, etc. I think I'm referring to a scene or 2 where MS was super super angry, but I can't remember the track or anything rn. But my point was, I personally would've been super discouraged or embarrased if a boss said that to me in front of other colleagues. Yea I made a mistake or I have a horrible habit, but I hope that doesn't make me a failure of a person. If you call me hopeless for life, I'll probably be too ashamed to ever have a healthy conversation with you again. Now, I'm probably more sensitive than others, so maybe that's why. But from that perspective of mine, I appreciate Karishma's ability to not take it on her ego or self-confidence; instead she would whole-heartedly take part in MS's jazbaati plan, and in the next case she would still have the guts to put her ideology forth. I don't think its so easy to voice your idea to a senior who already publicly hated on that idea in the last task. So I admire Karishma's will to stand up for the ideology she believes in.

Yup, that's true. I would never agree to the public humiliation of a junior or any oy staff member for that matter. I believe that all scoldings and counsellings need to be behind closed doors and that too without crossing boundaries. Haseena thankfully didn't cross boundaries with her words, probably because she is shown to be a very mature and level-headed person but she has scolded Karishma in front of the co-workers. As much as I am displeased about it, I do have to give her the tiny benefit of the doubt that such things actually happen in the real world too. Usually, in staff meetings, such things happen and since it happens with everyone and among familiar faces it is not that impactful. I have had my fair share too once upon a time but as soon as the boss leaves, we ended up making a mockery of the scoldings and used to laugh it off. At one point, you just become immune to it. And in this case, half the time is spent by Haseena to break the saas-bahu arguments. 😆 "Humare lalla ke toh bhaag hi photo gaye" is all it takes to start the maha-yudh 🤣🤣
