Cross-Genre Singing & eliminations

What do u all think of a singer from specific genre singing and sounding like other genre and getting eliminated 😳 😕

why bring 2 young boys into this contest and eliminate them for their young age? 😕 Age discrimination? Eliminate them on their singing not the age. First of all they should not have allowed such a young age kids to begin with. How can a 14-15 yrs old compete with someone who is 30

I understand them being young and need to mature but that should have been thought of b4 letting them enter the show. Actually one of those 2 boys should have been kept.
I felt youngest boy from Jaipur in Folk gharana was good. Rajiv could have been eliminated.

Sukhwinder's elimination b/c show wanted to keep one female singer from specific region-state so He was made to be bakra 😡 🤢 An awesome trained talented singerki bali chadhayi gayi😡 Insult to music IMHO. This was the worst elimination. May be he would have been a tough competition to others in his genre.

Harshdeep and Kavita both were weak.

In Bollywood Genre I am not 100% sure that Tarannum was the right choice for elimination.

I also have issue on them eliminating singer based on being in one genre and end up sounding or singing like other genre. Sufi-Folk singing is very close at time and it can cross the boundries at times.

What is up with Anand's reason for eliminating Taranum b/c her voice was not Playback type???? Is he comparing voice to current or past singers??? What ever happened to new-original or hatke voice???? In Bollywood more and more young actors are playing roles and we don't want Kumar Sanus or Alka yagniks singing for them. Need new fresh voice. Nothing against Saptak or anyone. This is just my observation and thought.

Yes I too agree with your views. I was shocked when rahatji announced jaswinder's name . It shd have been HP's name and her performance was not appreciated by Illaji also. This point shd have been taken into account by Rahatji and JS's performance was appreciated by all the three judges.It is a very unfortunate decision.

There are bound to be hitches and glitches in any reality show.This one is no exception.Yes,with all reservations,GS has come out with a brilliant concept.
That said,I agree with most of the popints raised by Varshaji.HP should have been ousted instead of Jaswinder.Bringing those two boys was a mistake.Though good singers what were they doing with mature professinals?Can they stand up to Malini and Kalpana?Even then tey did well and Ashraf from Rajasthan should have been there in place of Rajiv who was lacking in power.Or were they brought just to create rona dhona?
A mixup of genres is bound to happen.As I wrote in earlier thread Sufi and folk merge together at times.Meera's songs are also like sufi songs and folk songs.Same with Kabir and the great Gujarati poet Narsinh Mehta.Anandji removed Rehan for wrong reasons--because his song sounded like a sufi song.So what?Do they not need sufi songs in movies.What of Kialash Kher?He has made a niche for himself with sufi songs.Same with Richa Sharma--both sufi and folk.
I also wonder why they are not talking of the real base of all good singing which is clasical music.

I totallt agree with you Varsha on the above facts and they wanted a girl contestant ....and saved her.Very unfair.As Mahesh bhai pointed out it is bound to happen for both the genres...folk and sufi to get mixed for certain songs.

i too totally agree with you guys, Jaswinder's elimination showed that he was made a bakra. A well trained talented singer ki bali chadhayi gayi. He was much better than Harshdeep, infact Ila Arun pointed it out that she sang for the gallery and not SUFI!!!!!!
