Yes i love both of them, i think they r two very brilliant dancers and they have given some wonderful performances, DID and elsewhere( source vrushali on youtube)
but rilli? thats what they can bring for takkar? and thats what the masters were raving about?

i dont want to go into music, i think it was good enough.
Thats what classical they could manage? i would take kruti's DID performance and vrushali's last week's performance over this any day

I think they both were fab. I dont know why you are complaining. Being a trained classical dancer, i think it was enough for the audience.Thats what prince and Dharmu did last time. It wasnt a complex locking popping or hip hop. For kruti and Vrushali, It was Nritya which is a combination of dance and expressions but it was more dance movements as in Nritta. I think both were fabulously mind blowing 👏

Considering this was a Thakkar round, where they don't even have the full stage time as they usually would, I thought both were AMAZING!!!

Seeing both of them dance on stage together, completely a treat to the eyes. Their expressions, grace, technique, everything was just beautiful. I would rate Kruti slightly above Vrushali for this thakkar, since Kruti's grace, expressions and classical stance was a bit more powerful and clean. But nevertheless, both were awesome!! 👏 Wish we can see more of this on dance shows.. classical dance is always overshadowed 😕

LOL, i wrote thid topic on saturday night and no one responded to it and it got buried in recent discussions, and i didnt think anyone will ever open it again. i did all my discussions in some other post , I am quite satisfied about the whole thing after discussing with a few more people. Thanks for joining.

No, I still dont think they were fab, i understand now what you guys are trying to say, but i still am big time disappointed. It was maybe just me, i was disappointed. it was quite good, but they have done better and its not like some spur of the moment act, they were dressed from the beginning which means, they were already prepared, they used repetitive postures and mudras, they could have taken some song and brought a 1 min act, small but beautiful. i went back and saw their dance part over and over again, to find something wonderful about it, it was quite good, , nothing special but nice, but my first impression was rilli bad, and i wrote the post after seeing it for the first time . Again, it might be just the classical dancer in me who wanted more,my first impression was big time disappointment.

I agree to this one, big time, like super big time, i dont know why dance shows, donot want tp throw light on classical dances, when it is infact the one that interests people worldwide about our dance. often they pair classical ,folk in one epi and then its done, but folk is folk, classical is classical and they both deserve attention separately.

Also would like to act, ammu does manipuri, which is a beautiful but much neglected classical dance form. i trained in it as a child, and its my first love when it comes to dance. so far she didnt do a solo, i wish she would do a solo, and she would do manipuri that is one dance form which needs to be brought in attention.

@bolded continuing.. which is weird because It's Dance INDIA Dance..LOL so there should be a lot of classical dance involved, but the janta doesn't find it that appealing, and I include myself in it.. I am at fault too..I don't know why I don't enjoy it that much, BUT I loveeed Kruti and Vrushali's dance..and Vaishnavi's on LM..

I LOVE Indian dances like LAAVNI, SEMI CLASSICAL,FOLK etc though..they're amazing..like the ones they do on Gods.. it's so pleasing to watch..For example, the one that Amrita made Khusbhoo do on the manifestations of Durga.."Ambe re Ambe"..and Dsir's first group dance..It was amazzzing.I love those kind of dances..WANT MORE OF THEM! 😃

dont blame yourself, its also a fault of a practising classical dancers too, like classical music which until a few yrs back was something gambhir and very intellectual kind of thing, if u r only doing bhajans, and taranas and rag alaps, its not rilli very interesting. i am trained in classical music, but even i find at times the long aalaps r so intense and monotonous until u r totally into it, which makes it very exclusive. so it seemed, it was not for common masses. and there was a time when normal hindi movie songs, which are the ones that appeal to masses most, lacked the classical aspect of it big time. probably in the last 10-15 yrs, things changed a lot, when lots of young artists started coming up and making fusin music, composers like ARR started presenting classical music in a fresh way with western musical instruments, that classical music started gaining its charm back.
same can be said about dance, and still we donot do much fusion with classical dances. a proper dance presentation is still linked to properly sung vandanam, strotram, mixed with classical bol and tatkars, which makes it monotonous , when u donot have an idea about it. Untill a couple of yrs back, i found opera singing and in general western classical singing and music extremely boring because i had no idea about it.now i like listening to instruments, but still i dont like it much when the tenor sings for example. Its same here too. i think its up to the artists to come up and change it and present in the better way.
