That was pretty much my dad's and my reaction..I know Vrush has performed better before and today's solo wasn't her best so I got over the 7..until Vandana got a 7 too. As much as I love Vandu, I think she should have waited to perform her solo until she practiced more because clearly that wasn't very good..
I was okay with Paulson's 8 because he was just so cute after his performance πŸ˜†πŸ˜³ stupid reason I know..πŸ˜†
I guess the judges just expect more from Vrush..

THANK YOU for this post! I agree.

The scores were messed up for Vrushali. I thought she was wonderful. So graceful and expressive as always. Her dance totally did justice to such an iconic and classical song. 😍

Shiamak was just talking nonsense. The guy clearly knows nothing about classical dance. What kind of a dance professional makes comments like these?

"Your elbows weren't high enough"

He was basically jadhoing nonsensical stuff.

Her footwork was perfect too. Totally on rhythm.

I think maybe if Vrushali had opted for semi-classical and bits of Bollywood in between...then maybe Remo and Shiamak could've connected with it better. πŸ˜›πŸ˜† This was just too classical for them. πŸ˜›

Here is the proof for how awesome Vrushali was:

Totally showing off the avis I learned how to make today. πŸ˜› But seriously, only Vrushali could've done justice to such an iconic and beautiful song. 😍

agree on the elbow part, comm on, its Indian classical, u wont extend like a ballet dancer, there is a basic difference between Indian classical and western classical, if firmer, her hands wouldn't express the emotions.
disagree on REMO, he has given some awesome classical and folk choreographies before and he has seen vrushali before too, to i guess he is justified in what he said.

and i am so grateful for once, the classical was kept classical without latka jhatka beats. how r we going to show the young people what Indian classical is, sp to those born and brought up abroad , if we donot show them the pure real thing. as it is we use semi classical bolly songs instead of the beats and songs normally used( which i think is ok, pure dance songs for classical r a bit boring to me too :D) but imagine geeta's your'e my love and manipuri? i wanted to stab geeta for that, she killed the dance form with that extremely fast and stupid bit.

as for vandana, if i hadn't known what she can do, i would have thought some noob doing DID audition. but i am glad she got 7, else jalwa would have lost with a bigger diff :D

Aaaaaaaaahh "Fresh Prince of Baroda"

Agree with you on the scoring for Vaishnavi and Vrushali. Both should have gotten a higher score, after watching Vandana's performance, felt that if she could get 7, then Vrush should have gotten 8 and Vaishu a 9.

However my star yesterday was Atul ⭐️ Kid is mindblowing. His moves look so effortless

@pigbelly4myfeet (I love your ID!)
I agree about the grace and expressions..Vrushali, whenever she dances, there's such grace in her dance and I honestly think no one beats her when it comes to expressions in both season of DID..I didn't follow LM and Doubles as closely so excluded them πŸ˜†
Your avi's are awesome! :D

About Remo, I agree I didn't mind his comments as much either. He has seen Vrushali give some awesome classical performances in DID 1 so it's still understandable that he had really high expectations from Vrushali esp. in the classical department. But I don't think he got that this song required soft and graceful movements. I think he was expecting more of a punch or something filmy.

And honestly I've never been a fan of Remo's classical choreographies either. I liked his dandiya and tamil folk stuff he's done though in DID 1. Those were awesome. But I've honestly never been a fan of his classical stuff. He's too technical for me...rarely manages to capture the real soul of the music.

Anyways, I agree with you about classical dance though. I also like the fact that Vrushali performed a pure classical dance without any filmy stuff. Yeah itna toh chalta hai...she used such a classic song too though. It wasn't like she was doing classical on an item number or anything. πŸ˜† And Vrushali did use the kathak beats in the end too.

Oh God don't remind me of that "You're my love" performance of Geeta's. 🀒 That was such a disaster. And so unfortunate considering Amrita is such a graceful Manipuri dancer. She was trying to repeat the success of her "jooma chuma" performance in DID 1 I think. πŸ˜† But it failed because she put in zero thought into it. πŸ₯±

About Vandana, yeah that was a total disappointment. We've seen her do better so we know what she is capable of like you said. O well, hopefully we'll see better stuff from her later. No way did Vrushali deserve the same marks as Vandana though. Blasphemy! πŸ˜›πŸ˜†

Thank you! 😊 For both the ID appreciation and the avi's. πŸ˜†

First time I tried my hand at avi-making. πŸ˜† Just had to capture those beautiful moments and dance steps. 😍

And oh totally agree. I also haven't found anyone that matches her with expressions and grace. . She has such subtle expressions. She's a natural. Especially in this kathak style. I haven't seen someone perform kathak this gracefully and beautifully on Reality TV in a long time. πŸ‘πŸΌ

😳 m remo fan , so I get carried away, and i loved his durga act with 3 diff dance forms, but to each his own, i guess he expected much from vrushali, u know i was a lil disappointed too, i mean vrushali was beautiful, but i have seen her do piya tose naina lage inpromptu in lil masters and some of the steps looked st out of there, i havent seen season1, but i have a feeling this choreography is not first time oneπŸ˜‰ i saw vrushali doing a tillana on youtube, boy she was perfect.
i loved the way she used the song, this is how we can attract classical form to young people, as it is, classical dancers always get eliminated faster in DID and i would love to see some classical dancer win, but they should bring correct song and dance match. this was perfect. I am also not a very big fan of doing classical with remix bits of stuff, fusion music is best. do you know the rhythm speak beat from rhythmscape by bikram ghose, those r beats we can use.

About geeta, maybe we should go to her during season 3 and tell her not to taint classicals with horrible song choice and mismatched beat. As it is, we see very few classical, and amrita is the first manipuri dancer so far in DID( i wonder why manipuri is not popular, its such a beautiful form, soft and yet strong or maybe i am just partial to it, no one can forget first love) and i never got to see her do it properly,
dont u wish some more people were here in dks, i so wanted to see bhavna khanduja and tashu
tashu's durga act and sita act were mind blowing
i liked ur post and what u say, i think we think almost same in some cases. its gonna be an interesting 5 weeks and hopefully then in DID3 later

i totally agree with u
even i thought that Vrushali deserved a 8 as her dance moves and expressions were awesome
and even with Prince and DSir i thought Prince was amazing and i thought he was better than DSir
Prince had a lot of dance in his performance and he had dance moves with everything.....even in the end, he ended with a dance moves and all those moves were wow so i thought Prince was better
