Mohini is the illegitimate daughter of Kamini and Madhav. Madhav is unaware about Kamini being pregnant and having his daughter, and to save face from society, Kamini'a dad gave everyone a brilliant idea to move to Canada and stay there throughout the pregnancy of Kamini and have her child there (as Kamini did not want to abort the child, but keep it, even after her mother persisted she aborts), and then to declare to everyone that Mohini is their daughter and Kamini'a sister, hiding the fact from Mohini herself!
