With a very heavy heart Balaji bids adieu to its flagship show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on the 10th November 2008. The production house and the star cast of the show, with a heavy heart will watch the last episode of the show on air together. ?It?ll be a moment that we?ll all remember forever,? says out source in Balaji. The show that was ruling the TRP charts for a good 7 years experienced a fall in the viewer ship post the third generation leap. ?Maybe that leap did not work but the show has been rocking for years. It doesn?t and can never have a competition. Kyunki was a show that re-defined television. It was producer Ekta Kapoor?s vision and brilliant story telling that took the show to golden heights,? adds our source. But the current scenario is different. The show has fallen like a pack of cards and this has disturbed Balaji no end. ?The production house has shows like Bidaai that is the current hot favorite. After the original creative team of Star Plus, like Sameer Nair and Shaileja Kejriwal quit, the new team started giving Balaji step motherly treatment. Our shows were not promoted and that aggravated the issue,? says our source. The final nail in the coffin was when the channel asked Ekta to end the show. ?We had to end it as the contract was getting over,? says Balaji. The buzz is that Ekta is not too happy with both her flagship shows Kahani... and Kyunki... going off air in a span of one month. |
