I came across this image on Google. Suddenly realized the close resemblance of this photo to that of Uday's mother.
She was Maharani Jind or Jindan Kaur, the youngest wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. She was the last Sikh ruler of Lahore – a fearless Maharani who was also named by Sikhs as the Iron Lady.
Look at that unique headgear, the pearl necklace, those heavy kangan and even the pose --- everything is almost same! 😆
Salute to this brave Maharani who not just escaped the prison she was put in by the Britishers, but also led two wars against them and refused to bow to their decree until the end of her rebellious life.
May her story give courage and inspire women all over the world to fight for and achieve their share of happiness!
