I have my hopes ONLY because Randheer is probably one of the very few people on ITV that I've come across, who have genuine concern for their ladies.

So today, when Amrit says agar hum unko nahi manaa paaye, toh main vyaah nahi karungi, I want Randheer to look more into this rather than just getting disappointed about her priorities or thinking low of his position in her life. Here are the few points that I'd like to get raised, that are seldom touched upon.

Maybe I'm just going overboard with this, but let's talk 😆

1. Why is it the women who always have to make a choice?

When will men understand that it's absolutely uneasy to make a choice between the two pillars of your life - your father and your to be husband with neither having less importance. Can you choose between air and water?

2. Respect for relations.

Aap ko Ranjhan ke alfazon se mohabbat hai toh Amrit ke rishton ko bhi izzat deni padegi. While Ranjhan stands up for her love and is not afraid of breaking free, Amrit will never compromise on her roots for the freedom she gets.

3. Not on your terms.

Randheer is someone who has had lived his life as per his absolute free will. While his parents gave in, the same might not hold true for Lalaji. Is he ready to compromise (in ways he can't imagine), bend down a little to get the love of his life, albeit not ON HIS TERMS? Let's see his resilience 😆

This is a great post Mahi

You have made some great points. I don’t like Amrit’s father but for Amrit he is someone who has brought her up, got her educated and loved her immensely which is what she said to Vashma in yesterday’s episode and so she can’t choose between them and needs both in her life as they are both equally important.

I think Randheer will surely look into this and help her keep a balance between him and her father as he was the one who helped to convince her father when he got angry during the Ranjhan issue. Also saw a sbs promo where Randheer is apologising to her father and asking him for a chance to prove that he is a good person and will keep his daughter happy

Randheer is a very mature and sorted out person... He wont jump into conclusions like that... When amrit rejected him and when Ranjhan truth was revealed, both times he behaved maturely... He even hid amrit's love for him from her family and took all the blame on himself... This time too he will understand amrit's dilemma as he knows how much her dad means to her... He may feel bad which is understandable... But he surely will understand amrit.

Thanks for this thought provoking post! Aptly covered some important points! According to the latest promo, he is gonna take the DDLJ/PKTDK route and try to impress her Bauji and family members and then take her away with all giving their relationship the respect it should be accorded, rather than saying Saali ne Jiju ko udaa diya or vice versa 👍🏼

As for the three points, unless her family is so toxic that she would rather run away, it is extremely difficult for anyone to realistically choose between pyaar and parivaar, coz both hold a different meaning in their life. Amrit has lived in that house for 16 years and her bauji has treated her with love and respect according to those times, he may not support her dreams and put restrictions on her, but that is more zamaane ka dastoor and him not being exposed to the other side of the coin. Let us not forget that the attitude back then was of foreign and western mindsets being bad and Angrez Chale Jao because we were fed up of the ghulaami, and any new wave of thinking scared us that our culture will be lost.

Amrit aka Ranjhan is the personification that you can have both worlds ~ dedicated to your family but at the same time knowing where to draw the line and promote progressive thinking for the freedom of women. She may not have lived her life on her own terms per say in the traditional sense, but through her writing she wants to inspire millions to want to do so. Boond Boond se sagar banta hai, bas ek ke nazariye se kya hota hai? It is important for Randheer to know that sometimes bandishon mein bhi aasmaan ka sapna khil jaata hai and for Lalaji to understand and not all that is new is bad if it takes us towards a better tommorow. We dont know how much time is left till the Partition, but will be nice for both to see and be able to respect each other's views in the right manner. That's all I have to say 👍🏼
