Vashma might reach India and have to become a refugee, but live in constant danger so even if as per your theory she has come with the Sahani's, Uday marries her for her safety - coz if they see sindoor and mangalsutra, they will not characterise her or send her back. She finds a new home, but loses her religious belonging.
