I want pragsy to be the serious, loving but guarded 30-something professor trying to make the best of her arranged marriage but not expecting anything like soul stirring romance, mostly focused on family and making compromises and being a good teacher. And I want her to be a bit alienated and exasperated by her big child of a husband, but slowly slowly she opens up around him and learns to be somewhat more laidback and easygoing and fun loving without losing the essence of her personality, and without compromising her sense of self and her dignity.
And I want abhi to be the proud and confident 30-something rockstar who seems utterly self involved but actually puts his family first at all times. He's irresponsible about small things but rock solid when it really counts. He lives life to have fun and be happy, and he doesn't get caught up in ideas about duty. He tries to keep his distance from his unwanted wife - not bc he has another woman but just because he didn't choose her on a personal level and he doesn't want her to have expectations. But slowly he starts to depend on her and trust her, and his life gains a kind of steadiness because she becomes his partner in all things. He sees her vulnerability and how she doesn't think she's the kind of woman who is destined to be loved, and it starts to affect him. He slowly realizes that he loves her, not in the crazy overwhelming romance way, but in the "I can't live without you because you are my sun and my air" way.And they build a strong happy life together and sometimes there's too much fun and sometimes there's too much duty, but ultimately there is balance, and they grow together, and become the best possible versions of themselves because they have each other.A mature love story...boring in the grand scheme but utterly exhilarating in the small moments, and more elementally, viscerally satisfying than the adrenaline highs and serotonin crashes of standard melodrama :P
