And I want abhi to be the proud and confident 30-something rockstar who seems utterly self involved but actually puts his family first at all times. He's irresponsible about small things but rock solid when it really counts. He lives life to have fun and be happy, and he doesn't get caught up in ideas about duty. He tries to keep his distance from his unwanted wife - not bc he has another woman but just because he didn't choose her on a personal level and he doesn't want her to have expectations. But slowly he starts to depend on her and trust her, and his life gains a kind of steadiness because she becomes his partner in all things. He sees her vulnerability and how she doesn't think she's the kind of woman who is destined to be loved, and it starts to affect him. He slowly realizes that he loves her, not in the crazy overwhelming romance way, but in the "I can't live without you because you are my sun and my air" way.

And they build a strong happy life together and sometimes there's too much fun and sometimes there's too much duty, but ultimately there is balance, and they grow together, and become the best possible versions of themselves because they have each other.

A mature love story...boring in the grand scheme but utterly exhilarating in the small moments, and more elementally, viscerally satisfying than the adrenaline highs and serotonin crashes of standard melodrama :P

Drabble: A long night

(Background: Abhi wins the "I want to say something" battle by telling Pragya about Churail parents and his marriage plans before Pragya confesses her love to him. Pragya is heartbroken and gives up on him but decides to not make it difficult for him to divorce her. Even before they start with the divorce papers and all that, she decides to leave his house just in the name of staying with her mom and never coming back afterwards stating incorrigible differences with Abhi).

So that night was going to be Pragya's last night in Abhi's house, his room and his life.

He was aware of it too.

When he came to the room that night, she had already started packing her stuff.

That was not a sight Abhi could see, and he had tried hard to not think about it all these days given how it bothered him ever since she had told him she was going to leave him.

But he knew it was inevitable. He had to let her go.

She knew she had to leave. He was not meant for her.

And there was no point in wishing otherwise.

He sat on his bed and watched her pack her bag. His eyes followed her as she walked around, collecting her things.

She did not want to look at him at all. There was no way she could see his face and not break down.

"Why don't you pack later?" he told her, not able to bear the torture her act was putting his heart through.

"I am leaving first thing in the morning, I have to have my stuff ready. I have already told Daadi. Robin will bring your coffee tomorrow. All your stuff is arranged in the shelf. Your charger is on the side table. I have filled up the fridge with water and juice bottles. Should be enough for a week. Your t shirts are sorted by color, don't mix them up. All your dog tags..." she hadn't realized he was right behind her as she blabbered without looking at him and when she turned around to get her books, she met with his teary eyes and her eyes gave up on hiding her own tears.

He pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly and she sobbed into his chest.

"I wish I hadn't promised Tannu that I will marry her. I don't know why I have to marry her" he choked on his voice.

"Don't talk like that, you love her and you both should be happy forever" she said hugging him tight.

"We should still catch up. You should visit us. I will visit your home. We should remain friends" he said kissing her forehead.

"Hmm" she cherished her last moments in his arms.

When they broke apart, after what it felt like ages, he held her face. He didn't know why he urged to kiss her. She prayed that he pulled her back into his arms although she knew it was a meaningless hope.

But she walked away from him and he tried to hold her hand as long as he could.

She slept on the sofa turning away from him, and him on his bed.

They both pretended to sleep and it was the longest night of their lives.

Jaane Kya Baat Hai, Jaane Kya Baat Hai
Don't know what it is, don't know what it is.

Neend Nahin Aati Badi Lambi Raat Hai
Sleep is far away, it's a very long night...

Sigh Tia...just beautiful...LOVED IT...Thats what I want to happen too...he should tell all first and she should leave...

The song...sigh classic...love it and so fitting...
