Thanks for such generous praise, but it is you who should be commended! Actually the words came out after reading and being inspired by your post. You have such a way with words and you are an articulate and expressive writer. I think many of us are relieved that the gruelling monotony of Kulfi's entrapment is finally broken and she has freed herself of her own limitations, which is a big high point in the story.
Of course, we all want for Kulfi's journey to go forward from here onwards, as she grows up and meets new opportunities and learns to tackle new challenges. However, in Hindi serials depth of emotion and enquiry have to be followed by slapstick comedy to make things deliberately shallow. Somehow PHs pervasive belief is that too much depth would bring down trps. Therefore, enter MURPHY SINGH. What on earth? I never saw anything so silly. Sikka may change garb, but he is still the same majboor soul, as you point out, unable to engage or to make changes. So big deal --he will go to Vikky's place and make sure Kulfi is entertained. ( I hope the CVs make him disguise his voice --in other places and times Kulfi has been shown to recognise Sikka from his voice alone. ). What is going to come out of that? It is better for him to stay away, like his brother said, and allow Kulfi to fly freely.
On another note, your son sounds adorable. I hope I get to meet him and you someday.
