I understand where you all are coming from and respect your views. These days in the plot there is a lot of self-talk that little Kulfi has to do, and here is where primarily the problem is, and it is here she appears to mumble.
That being said, I think we need to give the child star a break. She is displaying complex emotions of being in an alien place without anyone to call her own, where she has undergone a gender change, where she is constantly bullied, abused, and now exploited for her singing voice. In between this, she is spontaneous, childlike and has moments of hope and even joy. Even adult actors, under such circumstances, would find it a challenge to switch genders and between complex emotions quickly.
To her credit, little Akriti is doing well. I think she will grow as she gets more experience with playing Kulfi. Let us applaud and support her budding talent as we enjoy the show.
We all understand all that ! However, at the end of the day she is one of the main cast of the show, and at the end of the day, she is a presenter ! Granted she is a child still and it maybe challenging for her to do complex scenes and emotions and display them being so young! But, that doesn't excuse her acting capabilities and horning of her skills. When she is crying and talking, or expressing pain through her words, she sounds so extremely shrill.. her voice becomes squeaky and annoying and does not make the viewer feel connected or emphatic towards her. It's hard for the ears to hear her, and is a real turn off. She maybe going through many setbacks but.. when it comes to portraying in emotions or acting the part, she tends to overdo it ! Like someone on here says, showing happiness and excitement is one thing, but, how she throws it out, it makes it appear fake and overdone ! She works with both her expressions and her voice, but isn't able to learn the right balance to mix it together in the right way. She is a lead actor and in a way, she is leading the show therefore, she would have to step up and it's the responsibility of the director's, her trainers and producers to make sure she is doing her part correctly! The girl playing Amyra, she is also of the same age! She is doing a fabulous job!! With her voice modulation, expression and attitude !! It looks so real !! If she can do it, why not the chosen lead be taught?
She has room to improve but, she seems too young for this role, and not mature in acting, for a child artist.. :/
