Amit Jain, who plays the soft-spoken Aditya in Mere Apne, enters Kuchh Is Tarah as Chinmay Godbade. The Telly Buzz team caught up with the suave actor to know more about his new role.
Speaking about his character in Kuch Is Tarah, Amit reveals "I play the role of Chinmay Godbade, who is a very close friend of Kanya's. In fact we are such close friends that we address each with nicknames, me calling her Chutki and she calls me Chunnu." He adds further, "He had gone abroad for his post-graduation, but has come back now. He returns on the day of Holi and he meets Kanya.Although he will be a third wheel in the Kanya- Ranbir love story, his character is not negative."
So what is Chinmay's character like? "Oh Chinmay is a completely different character", quips Amit, "He is a very happy go lucky guy who enjoys life to the max, and tries to make everyone around him happy. He an ace in everything, be it singing, dancing or playing pranks on others." Adding further, he says, "The casting of the character is completely different. While in Mere Apne, I play a soft-spoken and quiet guy, here I am loud and out-spoken. I sport ganjis and for the first time I will be with a stubble also. In fact the versatility was what compelled me to accept this role."
Amit seems quite pleased to be working with the Balaji camp for the first time as he says, "It really feels great to work with Balaji. In fact, I shot the holi episode for two whole days and had a blast with the entire cast and crew. Everyone at Balaji helped give me a crash course in singing and dancing as it was required for my role." When quizzed about his track in Mere Apne, Amit was tight-lipped as he replied, "I cannot say much, all I can say is that there is something very tragic going to happen in Aditya's life."
Well as another actor makes an entry in the Balaji, all we can say is Best of Luck Amit!!!
