Part 2

Nidhi was waiting outside and looking around to see if he had come...so that she could show him the case presentation and then leave for Deepa's home soon. But her night duty's exhaustion and the monotonous atmosphere outside his office led to Nidhi slipping into a light slumber... She dozed off and soon Dr Ashutosh came back after rounds. He saw her sleeping and his anger grew manifold because of this...he opened the door with a bang which brought her out of her sleep. She stood up anxiously and all the papers fell down...Sir ...Sir...sorry Sir...I'll...just... she wasn't able to complete her sentence even seeing his frown. But he was getting more and more frustrated to see everything messed up...I hope you'll soon sort out everything soon and come inside my office...I don't have the whole day for you...you heard me ...right? he was very strict and clear with his words and poor Nidhi just looked up and nodded her head in agreement. He went inside and closed the door behind him and she just sat there angry on herself...kya zaroorat thi tujhe sone ki...ab pata nahi yeh kya kerenge...Bhagwan bachay mujhe inse... She mumbled to herself.

Soon she picked up all the papers and went inside anxiously...May I come in Sir? she asked and he signaled him to come inside. He asked to start her presentation and as she carried on with it...he was terribly angry on the way it was being done...Stop it Dr Nidhi... This is how you do it? Who told you to do it this way? he asked her in his usual angry tone. She had shivers going through her entire body and she hesitantly told him that the senior doctors told her to do it like this. He asked her to attend the afternoon rounds with him and see how the cases are to be presented. " Sir I had a night duty yesterday...can I do it tomorrow? she tried to tell him that she is already very exhausted but Dr Ashutosh would not take such an excuse from anyone and he ordered her to be on rounds and he wanted her to be there on time...she could have some brunch as still there was some time for the rounds.

Nidhi couldn't say anything now as she realized that her punishment would increase further if she said anything more...so she agreed to be there on rounds and she came out of his office with tears in her eyes. The seniors who had misguided her were standing outside the office at some distance and seeing her crying...they realized that their plan worked and she got a good piece of Dean's mind. They laughed among themselves and went away and here Nidhi composed herself and went to the canteen to have something to eat. After this she attended the rounds and later Dr Ashutosh told her that this is the way he expects her to present next time...she realized that it was a prank played by the seniors and she had fallen prey to that in the afternoon. But as she was already tired and she had to attend that party which she didn't want to...she left from there and decided to deal with the seniors in her way later on.

She went to Deepa's home and it was late evening by the time she reached there...she told her what happened in the hospital and Deepa was very upset with the way the seniors behaved with her. But Nidhi told her that she would handle everything appropriately but right now they should get ready for the party. They both decided that they would leave soon from there and come back home and sleep on time as they had to report to their duties on time the next day. They reached the party and saw that the party had already started...many interns were dancing and some were busy chatting and enjoying the snacks. Some girls came and asked them to join for dance...Nidhi refused as she was very exhausted but Deepa went with them...she told Nidhi to eat something and make herself comfortable and that she would soon join her for dinner.

Nidhi sat on a couch and kept on watching others enjoying the party but she was not able to take part in any of the activities today unlike her usual bubbly nature...and all this was because of the Dean who punished her on one hand and forced her to be a part of this boring party on the other hand. Dr Ashutosh who himself didn't enjoy attending parties but this was an official party and he had to attend...so he was spending his time in talking to other elite doctors of his field. He looked around people enjoying their dance and snacks but Nidhi was sitting their alone with her head resting against the wall...he felt sorry for her that moment but being the Dean...he owed the responsibility to take care of the discipline in his hospital. So he had to punish her as he did with the others while he had an idea that she was misguided by some notorious seniors.

As Nidhi was feeling sleepy...she went outside towards the swimming pool to spend some time in isolation. She went there and sat with her feet dipped in water...she enjoyed the starry sky and full moon night...the natural beauty always brought a smile on her face and she forgot her anger on those seniors and also the Dean for his behavior for some time. Soon she was lost in the beautiful sight when she heard someone come close ...she thought that Deepa might have come to take her for dinner but the person was someone else. He was Rakesh...his senior in the hospital and also in her graduation days...everyone called him Rocky by his friends as he preferred this name which suited his personality more than Rakesh.

She stood up immediately and ..."Rocky tum...tum yahan kya kar rahe ho? she was surprised to see him there. " Tum se milne aaya tha...socha dekh lu ki kahin tum bahut pareshan to nahi ho...Dean ke punishment ki wajah se...yeh sab to yahan chalta rehta hai...and he started laughing. Nidhi realized that the prank was planned by none other than him...to wo sab tumne kiya tha...un sab ne wo tumhare kehne par... lekin kyun? she asked him confused. " itni jaldi bhool gayi...college ke dinon mein wo tum hi thi jisne mujhe Principal se punishment dilwaya tha...main ab tak use bhoola nahi hu... Nidhi was shocked to know that he still had that punishment in his mind since so many years...she instantly spoke up... to tum ab tak use apne dil mein lekar baithe ho?...mujhe vishwas nahi ho raha... He told her that he wanted revenge for his punishment and his suspension for three weeks from college and today he had managed to do that to some extent...but still his revenge wasn't complete...she still had a lot to suffer because of him. Nidhi told him that it wasn't so easy now that she knew his intentions...she would go and tell everything to the Dean immediately and once again he would be suspended for his misdeeds.

There Deepa saw the place where Nidhi was sitting empty and she became anxious...she tried to search for her near the dining areas but when she didn't find her...she informed her other friends too...they tried searching for her but they didn't find her in the hall and in the washrooms too. Dr Ashutosh who noticed the girls searching for someone asked one of them...when he came to know that Nidhi was missing...he remembered that he had seen her go out of the hall. He went to search for her in that direction and was upset that she went missing because of him...he shouldn't have been so strict with her...after all she is new to the institute...she would take some time to adjust...he thought. He wanted to find her soon and ensure her safety and security...that was the most important for him at that moment.
