Part 6
Both of them went to their respective homes...Nidhi told DB that Ashu had dropped her home and also about his advice...she told her that she was feeling a bit light at heart after talking to him. But DB was worried for her future...short duration of meeting with him has such an impact on her... how would she mange without him once again ...she thought. She was trying hard to learn to live without him... Till now she wasn't able to come out of that guilt and that sorrow... But as she had decided earlier, everything she left to the Almighty to decide for all of them.Nidhi was recollecting her past moments with him which were so precious to her...so close to her heart...she could never part from them. She was grateful to him and proud to know someone so true to his words...his promises. Why didn't her Baba try to look at him from her eyes...he would have known what actually he is ...If he did...things could have been different... But she knew this is not possible... she had tried hard to convince him but all her attempts had failed. Now she was anxious about his reaction when he would come to know that he is admitted in his hospital while he never wanted this to happen.
Next morning Nidhi and DB went to the hospital and met CV...He was much better than before. When they went there, he was awake but wasn't in a good mood. When Nidhi asked him about his health, he turned his face away from her. She was surprised to see his reaction and he asked him what happened to him?
CV: Tum mujhe is hospital mein kyun layi? Tum jaanti ho na ki main yeh kabhi nahi chahta tha...
Nidhi: aap... Aapko ...kaise pata... she asked hesitantly with broken words...
CV: Yeh zaroori nahi hai... tumne aisa kyun kiya?
Nidhi narrated to him whatever had happened and the reason why he was shifted here... She also told him about the promise Dr Ashutosh had made to her and DB... But he wasn't ready to stay in this hospital even for a minute as he didn't want to see him once again in front of him...he was the one because of whom Nidhi was in a heartbroken state and still wasn't able to come out of it... and was about to get up from the bed... He stumbled and she held him and made him lie down immediately on the bed.
Nidhi (angrily): yeh kya kar rahe ho aap...agar aap gir jaate to... mera kya hota...socha hai aap ne... nahi...aap ko to bas apni zid poori karni hai...bilkul bachhe ki tarah behave karte ho... Ab chup chap aaram karo jab tak aap ko yahan se discharge nahi milta... aap to...bas baat mat karna mujhse...
Nidhi had tears in her eyes and she kept on standing there with her face away from him...as if showing her anger and disappointment at his behaviour. CV knew that she always did this to avoid getting scolded... Whenever someone was about to scold her...she became angry with that person and ultimately she had to be consoled... He had been missing this child like Nidhi for a long long time. He signalled to DB as if telling her to ask her to talk to him. He was so pleased to see this reaction from her after ages it seemed to him.
DB: Nidhi beta...
Nidhi: nahi DB aap inki side nahi lengi... Inhe to bas apni narazgi dikhti hai... itna bhi bharosa nahi hai mujhpar... inki khushi ke liye ... Sab kuchh kiya...maine...unhone...hum dono ne... lekin ... ab bhi ... (she was sobbing)... aap ko kya pata...kya beeti hai hum dono par aapko aisi haalat mein dekhkar... Agar Dr Ashutosh nahi hote to jaane kya hota...Wo hospital itna door tha...wo to unhone humari madad karne ke liye aap ko yahan shift karaya ...aur aap...
CV: achha Baba maan liya...tu jaisa chahegi wohi hoga... Naraz mat ho...Main yahin rahunga... ab theek hai...ab tu rona band kar please... Bua bolo na aap isko... yahan aa...baith mere paas...
She wiped her tears and sat close to him but still wasn't looking at him... he held her hand and became emotional...
CV: Nidhi...main darr gaya tha...tere liye... tujhe aise udaas dekhta hu itne waqt se... to bahut takleef hoti hai... main nahi chahta ki tu fir se us dard se guzre... tujhe is dard se bachana chahta tha main... main jaanta hu tujhpar kya beet rahi hai...
Nidhi: jaanti hu Baba... sab jaanti hu...par shayad aap unhe ab tak nahi jaan paye... Jaan paate to pata chalta wo kitne achhe hain...
She was about to tell him about how he was fulfilling his promises when Dr Ashutosh came to meet him with his team for rounds and Nidhi got up from the bed. He saw slight moisture in their eyes and looked towards Nidhi... she signalled through her eyes and he immediately knew that CV knew about him.
Dr Ashutosh: Hello Col Verma...how are you doing now?
CV: I'm ok Dr...
Dr Ashutosh: that's good...
He examined him and told Nidhi that he would be discharged in two days after the stitches are removed...Nidhi and DB thanked him and he went to the next patient when a small girl was brought on a wheelchair by a nurse there...
Dr Ashutosh: arey beta aap yahan kaise ...kya hua?
That girl: Doctor Uncle...aaj mera birthday hai... to Mumma ne kaha ki main sab ko sweets dekar aaun...isliye sister didi mujhe le aayi...aap lo na...
Dr Ashutosh: oh...to aapka birthday hai...Happy birthday beta...hum to sweets zaroor lenge...balki ek nahi do lenge... le le bolo... (the girl happily agreed)
He picked up 2 sweets from the tray that the sister was carrying and seeing this Nidhi spoke up instantly... Aap do mat ...
Nidhi realised what she was saying and in front of so many people...she kept quiet after this... But Ashu understood that she didn't want him to eat extra sweets as this could be harmful for his health. He kept back one and also asked the girl to offer sweets to other doctors, staff, Nidhi and DB also... In the meantime he was examining the other patients. CV was not happy to see him again but he remained quiet just for Nidhi's sake... and he too himself observed how professionally he was behaving with them...so he preferred not to create a scene and he too remained quiet. The girl went to Nidhi...
Nidhi: happy birthday dear... Aapka naam kya hai?
That girl: Nidhi...
Nidhi: hey...yeh to mera bhi naam hai...hello Nidhi...(with a smile on her face)... Aap kitne years ke ho gaye...?
Girl: 6 years ki... to aapka bhi naam Nidhi hai...hello Didi...
She took a sweet and the girl moved ahead...Dr Ashutosh asked his manager to organise a small lunch to celebrate Nidhi's birthday ... Nidhi (junior) was very happy to know this and while going out from the ward...she asked him..
Nidhi (J): Doctor uncle... Aap jo kahani mein pari batate the...unka naam bhi Nidhi tha na...
Ashu and Nidhi both were shocked at this question from this small girl... Both of them looked at each other and couldn't take off their eyes from each other.
Nidhi(J): Batao na Uncle...kahin yeh wo hi pari to nahi...
Both came out from their state of trance by her voice... it seemed as if he didn't know what to say... But soon he reconciled himself and said...
Dr Ashutosh: nahi beta...wo pari to koi aur thi...jo ab kahin kho gayi hai... yeh wo nahi hai...
His eyes moistened and he looked at CV and nidhi and went out from there...Nidhi felt as if his words pierced through her heart...tears came to her eyes and she stood there quietly...
Nidhi (J): Achha Didi...aap lunch party mein zaroor aana... Aaoge na...
Nidhi composed herself and told her that she would definitely come...she asked the sister whether she could take her to her room...the sister agreed...and she took the girl to her mother.
Nidhi (J): Mumma... Aap ko pata hai...in didi ka naam bhi Nidhi hai...
Her mom: achha... To tumne inse bhi dosti kar li... Sorry aap ko zyada pareshan to nahi kiya?
Nidhi: nahi...bahut pyari bachhi hai...
Her Mom: hmm sabki laadli hai yahan...khaas kar Dr Ashutosh ki... Wo ise bahut pyar karte hain...kahaniyan sunate hain... kabhi kabhi iske saath khelte hain...
Nidhi was very happy to know that Ashu was living as she wanted him to...only she wasn't there with him to be a part of his happiness...which she knew was incomplete without her...she left the girl there and went back to her Baba.
CV: tu theek hai beta?
Nidhi: jee ... Main theek hu... Nidhi who was still thinking about the changes he had brought in himself...she instantly spoke up... Wo kitna badal gaye hain na... she spoke as if she wasn't aware of who is there with her...she was totally lost in his thoughts...
DB placed her hand lovingly on her head and she realised that she was with them...she said... aap ne bataya nahi aap ko kaise pata chala ki aap is hospital mein ho?
CV: wo maine 2 sisters ko baat karte huye suna tha...
Nidhi: hmm... ek tarah se achha hi hua...main darr rahi thi ki aap kaise react karoge?
CV: darr to main bhi gaya tha... par ab mera darr nikal gaya... main samajh gaya hu ki tum dono apna vaada nahi todoge... Bas 2 din ki baat hai...fir hum ghar chalenge...
Nidhi: aap theek keh rahe hain... Aapka darr nikal gaya...aur mujhe kya chahiye...
By that time the visiting time finished and she went outside along with DB...
DB: Shukar hai... kuchh aisa waisa nahi hua...jaisa hum soch rahe the... warna kya hota?
Nidhi: mujhe vishwas tha... Unke hote huye kuchh aisa waisa nahi hota...
DB: Beta... Tu bhool nahi payi na unko...
Nidhi: DB bhoolu to main unhe tab jab main unhe yaad karungi...
DB: matlab...
Nidhi: matlab yeh ki main kabhi unhe yaad hi nahi karti...wo to mere andar base huye hain... Main unse alag kaise ho sakti hu?
DB: tu kaisi baatein kar rahi hai...aise nahi kehte beta...
Nidhi: to aur kya kahu main? DB... Main aap dono ke liye unse door hone ko majboor hu...par meri yaadein...mera dil to nahi na... par main vaada karti hu...meri wajah se aap dono ko kabhi koi pareshani nahi hogi... meri yaadein aapke raaste mein nahi aayengi... kabhi nahi...
Nidhi held her hands and promised while she became tensed seeing her love for him... She didn't know what was in store for all of them?
Tere jaane ke baad tu humare kisson mein zinda hai
Inse tujhe door Karen kaise humare to har fasane mein tu hai
