While going to the hospital, all sorts of negative thoughts kept on creeping through everyone's mind but none of them spoke to one another so that the anxiety doesn't increase further. The riots had settled down by now and the curfew was taken off, so there was no checking in between but definitely the security in entire Lucknow was very tight. Soon they reached the hospital and asked for the ICU where Dr Ashutosh was admitted. They went there and after taking permission, Nidhi went inside to see him. He was lying there in multiple injuries and with bandages on his head, arms and legs. She became very worried to see him like this...she had these negative signals right from the time she got up on that fateful day, but he didn't listen to her. All those signals came true and here he is lying in injuries and blood. All such thoughts made her cry but soon she composed herself and asked for the doctor incharge of the ICU and she was taken to him. When she met the doctor incharge, he greeted her and told her that Dr Ashutosh was brought here the previous night and has been unconscious since then. He sustained multiple injuries on his head which was the reason for his unconsciousness. The doc also told her that the ICU incharge of the hospital recognised him by face and that's why they could be informed. Otherwise he had no identity proof at the time he was brought here.

He told her that they needed to operate on him for his head injury and after her consent, he would be soon taken to the OT. She signed the necessary documents and wanted to meet the ICU incharge of that hospital. She wasn't sure how he recognised Ashu by face, that means he knew him...she thought. The doc took her there and she met the ICU incharge. He was Dr Khurana...who was junior to Ashutosh in college. They had a good time together in college days and he praised Ashu for being the topper in his batch every year. On asking he told that he had no idea what happened to Ashutosh and how he sustained his injuries. But he was brought by the police as he was found unconscious in that state to them.

She just wanted him to be safe and that was her only wish at this point of time. She thanked Dr Khurana and went back to her parents and told them everything. Soon Dr Ashutosh was taken to OT for surgery and she kept on praying for his well- being each moment. Her parents could see from her face the extent to which she loved him. Both of them realised that they were wrong in their judgement about Dr Ashutosh. Her love had changed him into a loving and caring person and they were proud of their daughter. Seeing her face everything alone made them all the more guilty.

After around 2 hours of surgery, the surgeon came out and informed them that surgery was successful and he was being shifted back to the ICU and would be regaining his consciousness in few hours probably. All of them thanked God for bringing him out of danger...Nidhi knew that head injuries could turn really bad...so now that the surgeon was so confident, she too got some strength back. All this time her heart had been beating so fast with fears related to his safety but now she was feeling relaxed.

Few hours later Ashu regained his consciousness and Nidhi and her parents were asked to go and meet him inside. His eyes were closed when they went close to him but he slowly opened his eyes and soon his blurred vision became clear and he saw Nidhi standing in front of him. He called out her name in a low tone voice and she had few tears drop down on listening to her name. She tried to tell him about her parents also out of happiness and excitement, but the doctor asked her to wait till the next morning when he will be probably shifted out from the ICU and will be better able to understand everything. All of them went out from there and Nidhi decided to go to a temple and carry out a Pooja as her thanksgiving to God.

Next morning he was shifted to the room and there she told him about her parents coming there and finally they had accepted their relation. She asked him what happened with him and how he got injured. He started narrating that days sequence of events. While he was going to the hospital, he was facing lot of difficulty due to the ongoing riots. He saw a couple running for help and a group of people behind them who were full of rage in their eyes and sticks in their hands. He immediately understood that their life was in danger. He stopped his car on a side and came out. He asked the couple to come and sit in his car and hide themselves. They did as he told them and he kept on driving with the group of those people trying to stop him and search for that couple. They broke his car's window panes and caused a lot of damage but somehow he managed to drive for some distance. He asked them why the people were behind them and who are they. The boy told him that he loved this girl but their families didn't agree to their relation as he was a Hindu and she is a Muslim. They want to kill them because of their religious differences. He felt so sorry for them and for our society which is still so orthodox in their religious beliefs and didn't approve of such relations. He drove for some distance and stopped his car. He got out of his car and asked them also to come with him. He took them with him to an isolated godown and all of them hid themselves there for sometime. The boy asked him the reason for helping them and why were they hiding there.

He told them that he wanted to help them out as he always supported people in love. He didn't believe in all these religion differences and that love is the purest religion. He told him that the people who were following them would find his car and would try to search nearby only. But this godown is far from that place and no one would be able to come here. When everything is settled, they will go out and he will help them go out of Lucknow so that they can get married and start a new life together. Both of them were very thankful to him and they did as he told.

Ashu was with them there for 2 days, he couldn't contact Nidhi in this time as he had forgotten his phone in the care when he left his car at an isolated place. But throughout these 2 days, he saw that couple and how the boy was looking after the girl. He recollected all his memories of Nidhi and his relation...the way it progressed over time. After around 2 days, he took them out cautiously and helped them go out of Lucknow by a train. He told them that the railway station incharge knew him and they should show his letter to him. He would arrange tickets for them and they could start their life afresh. They thanked him for his support and left him after the boy touched his feet.

Ashu tried to come back to his home but on his way back he saw few members of that group who had been searching for him over these 2 days. They asked him about the boy and girl but he refused to tell them. They come close to him and one of them tried to hit him with his stick. He tried to protect himself and gave them a good fight but because they were so many and he was alone...they managed to overpower him and he got injured. After that when he opened his eyes, he saw Nidhi in front of him.

Nidhi was pleased to know that he tried to help someone in need but he also should have tried to contact the police for his help as that would have been a safer option and this would have prevented him from getting injured. He told her that he tried to do that but somehow couldn't manage. He tried to go alone to the police station in the dark of night for help but when he reached there, he saw one person from that group with the inspector incharge of the police station. He overheard them talking that the inspector was his friend and he was helping them in searching for that couple. So he abandoned that idea and went back. This is what he thought was the best option at that time and he never thought that those people would be able to find him. But Nidhi's father told him that all is well that ends well and he is fine now...that's the most important. They also were sorry for their behaviour towards him in the past and told him how Nidhi handled everything in his absence. He was thankful to them for being with her in times of need and was happy to know that Nidhi kept her duty above her love. She told him that she had learnt all this from him only and asked him to promise that he'll be careful in future. He agreed and after few more days of hospital stay he was discharged and both of them began a new phase in their life in which they had support of her parents as well.
