Slowly, he came to stand behind her. Putting his hands on her shoulders, he again called her name softly. But the reaction wasn't what he had expected.

Ashutosh turned around, and with misty eyes and rage in her voice she started speaking. "First you hide the fact that you were unwell. Then you go out with me and spend the whole day eating out. You get a headache and then you forget to take your medicines. Clearly, you think, whatever happens to you, it won't affect me at all. And that can only happen if I don't affect you at all which means you don't love me anymore,"

Ashutosh was backed up against the wall and Nidhi was standing before him with tears streaming down her face and a trembling hand, whose finger was pointed at him.

Ashutosh remained quiet and gave Nidhi the time to control her overwhelming emotions. When he spoke, his voice was slow but firm, "Why I don't tell you certain things is not because I think it won't affect you. It is because I believe it will affect you more than it affects me. And I can not see you in pain,"

Nidhi wanted to be angry. She wanted to shout at him. But she couldn't. Not after what he said. So, when she spoke, Ashutosh had to strain his ears to listen. "I am not as weak as you think I am. I am terrified of losing you. And when you hide these things I feel you don't trust me..And Don't...Don't... " she choked up on her words and Ashutosh took her in his arms instantly. And there, she cried and he soothed her with all the right words. They stayed like that for a long time, wrapped in each others arms.

"You know Nidhi...I might have never told you this" Ashutosh said looking deep into her eyes." But today I want you to know that the you mean the world to me and I love you Nidhi. My love for you is captured in every beautiful memory of our past, detailed out in vivid visions of our dreams and future plans but most of all it's right now, in the moment where everything I've ever wanted in my life is standing right in front of me"

Nidhi couldn't control her tears after hearing those magical words from him for the very first time...She gently pulled him down and kissed him whispering "I Love You Too Dr.Ashutosh.". 😳
