Hi Guys,
We have a fair idea about the story line of this show - A young gal and a matured guy fall in love inspite of all odds. Anyone who knows the Classic, Dhoop Kinarey, would know the depth of thsi storyline more...I dont know if the writers here can do justice to DK but keeping that aside, I have a question for you all that my inquisitive nose is been twitching on -
The Title - "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge" gives us a hint that this love will not be accepted by the "Log"...and the protaganist would face hurdles created by the same "Log"...Considering the current Indian backdrop, do you think its the reality in todays world that a 24 year old gal with 38 yr old guy will be frowned upon?
BTW, I am super excited about the show...All my friends in this forum who know me, know that I am a major fanatic of DK and DK was the show that drew me to Pak shows... I watched this show in 1987 and since then I have always remembered the naughty Zoya climbing the wall of her neighbour and creating havoc everyday! ...I keep my finger crossed today, that if this show has dared to redesign a Classic like DK, they better know their job!! DK Fans are very staunch on quality!!
DK Fans, All of you who agree, say "I"...😆😆😆
Love,
DD

No,i dont think people will frowned up so much regarding the age gap,if people can love, admire Salman- katrina pair than why not this??You know When Dilip Kumar ji married Saira Bano ji she was just 22 and he was 44 and i have seen many couples with the difference of 10 years in their age and that too in arranged marriage, one of my uncle is 10 years older than my aunt and that too their marriage is arranged.i feel this factor should not be hyped so much nor in tv industry neither among the audience.

PS: am really excited and looking forward to the show like u all 😳..i havent watched DK but have heard lot of praises about the show and this is making me feel more eager to watch kTLK and kritika and Mohnish behl are fantastic actors..dont wanna miss their awesome chemistry 😳😳

It might be a hit but I am still not sure they would do justice to DK...One, because the remakes are very rarely, if not better, at the same level as the classic...Two (and my primary concern) is tht DK was a cut to cut story...A story was skecthed, narrated and given a logical ending...Nothing extra fell from the sky...but KTLK is a daily soap...and a daily soap usually goes out of the hand because the PH always needs to show lot of Masala to keep the TRPs high...Hence, to me, High TRPs is not the measure of satisfaction...A soap has a high probability of killing the charm of the old classic...I guess after few days, I will just forget that DK was the inspiration and watch KTLK for what it has to offer!!

I agree. I like your reasoning and word to that!
I also feel that in todays generation, a age gap as this will not be frowned upon...There might be few eyebrows raised, only because it raises curosity - curosity to see the result of this marriage but no objection... Salman and Katrina, no matter how it ended, it raised curosity but not objection...It raised admiration, not slyness!
ah ha!!... If you ever get an opportunity, watch DK...Its a simple boy meets girl story but it simplicity will win you...😊

well ya...i think they will deffo do some remix in this remake...bt, d kind of writer Kamlesh Jha is who hav given stories like "Rang De Basanti"n d respect he has for DK i dnt think he'd ruin d story of DK for trps sake plus d kind of story n plot is taken for d show wid such a delicate subject matter i dnt think addition of much mirch masala n melodrama wud help or suit d topic...

though trps r everything for d shows dez days bt writers n directors do hav some sense...n success of shows like BaLH, Praichaya has already shown dat d taste of audience has shifted to simple n realistic shows now

bt ya dragging a short cut to cut story of DK n making a daily soap wid 200+ episodes keeping its simplicity n delicacy alive is definitely a challenge for them...so lets hope for d best n enjoy d show...

agree wid u both...

n i dnt think age gap have ever been frowned up by d society or people...infact, marriages wid much more age gap had been in practice in old days rather than now...i hav heard d story of a 7 or 10 year old getting married to someone of her father's age from ma grand pa n grandma...its jst dat people r much more aware these days so curiosity arise in them...

even my parents hav a huge age gap...my dad is 11 years older than ma mom...ya i felt a li'l weird when i came to knoe abt it 1st...bt everything is running so smooth n jst so fine betn them...they luv eachother, respect eachother , support eachother n r living a happie n successful married life what else is needed...!!! n how does aga gap affect d relation then,

i never believed in luv bt watching my parents n their relation m compelled to believe in marriage...so age gap betn couples isnt a big deal for me...

First, I am feeling better now that you tell me that Kamlesh Jha is the writer behind it...RDB was a masterpiece indeed! ... So, I am a little relieved...
On writers and Directors, all of them have sense but their idea of sensical viewership is a little different from ours...They are here for business and a daily soap gets it business from TRPs, and you get top TRPs if you can manage to have the story always at a peak that keeps the viewers on the edge always...That is when things get destroyed...Taste of audience is shifting but the TRPs still lie in the banks of Saas Bahu or lets say in the houses of a typical Indian family..If u can give the audience what they can relate to, the show is a hit...but the audience who relates to the idea of the show has to be in majority...The women of the house relates to the saas bahu saga thats why they are still a hit...but you and I are more comfortable with youth genre and love pure simple love stories...This is our idea of sensical viewership but are we in majority? Shows like R.com were shown the doors even when people liek us loved it...That was the change in the taste of audience, but audience that was in minority like us...
And as far as BALH and Parichay are concerned, they are budding stories...Their main story line has not yet reached its end...when it does, they will take th usual ekta route...All ekta's shows are awesome in the beginning till they are concentrating on the main agenda, but after tht, they dip...but yes, here hoping for the best!!
True...13 epi in DK Vs 200+ in daily soap will be a challenge...but I agree with u, It would be very interesting to see how Kamlesh takes the story...BTW, Is it ekta's show?
