I knew the day would come when i would make a post titled "the last five episodes" cause i mentioned it in the first everthread of this forum that i made exactly three months ago on Feb 24th....it had been 5 days dince the show started and i made a thread about the first five episodes of the show....while i expected the show to end within 6 months (the core plotline couldn't have been streched more than this) after completing 150 episodes i sure did not exprect it to end within 70 episodes....this show had the perfect cast , hope they get better projcets soon...let me post what worked and what didn't ;

What worked ;

The acting ; Litterally everyone were amazing in the show , when i started to watch the show I only knew two of the cast members ; Dharmesh sir (Hemraj and Shyam from Hasratein) , and Sandeep Kapoor (Dhawal) , but the rest of the cast grew on me as i watched the show...everyone were spectacular in their roles

What didn't work ;

Streching and the rushed ending

While i clearly mentioned above that the core plotline couldn't be strechedto infinity , they surely streched the marriage track for 50 episodes...like why? They should've finished the marriage track by ep 35 and Dowry revelation should've happened by ep 40 and the rest of the show should have been about Nandhini's battle to get her dowry back (a 30 episode arc) granted they didn't know that the show would be axed soon and they would've had an initial plan to execute the battle track for en no of episodes but the makers knew that the show was getting offaired last month and yet the truth was only revealed in ep 64 (6 episodes before the show ended) why? She could've learnt the truth by ep 55 or 60

She learnt about the dowry and won by the next 6 episodes...too rushed

Hemraj's realisation was well done but....

Being a hats off show i know thier tendancy to glorify toxic relationships but Hemraj becomes the pramukh of thebcommunity again? Really? It's great that he gave back the dowry but here's how they could've handled the whole thing

They could've sent him to prison and could've made him repent for his sincs for 3 or 4 episodes and then a minor time leap later he could've apologised to Nandhini and given back everyone's dowry .Dharmesh sir would've performed those scenes excellently causes that's the logical thing to do , you can't forgive someone easily just because they are the "Eldest" in the family....demanding dowry is a crime and punishment should be shown and not glossed over.....they should've shown his regret a bit more organically than what was shown...him seeing the error of his ways in less than 24 hours and managing to overlook his belief system which he has had his entire life felt like fanfiction and was far from reality.....the writers realised this and tried to do damage control by making her FIL asking her to guide him and made her the co head of the comunity was fine but still not enough

The prison sentence redemption and him getting released and returning the dowry and having a somewhat civil relationship with his son and Daughter in law would've felt more realistic than the sacchrine sweet ending we got

THE MAKERS MADE A SHOW WITH THE INTENT TO CONVEY THAT DOWRY IS A CRIME BUT ENDED UP SPREADING THE MESSAGE TO FORGIVE YOUR IN LAWS WITHOUT REPORTING THEM TO THE COPS....familes can only be forgiven if they are capable of understanding and change and are just mildly toxic like the Ratansis (It's difficult to forgive them rven in such scenarios)

Hemraj's realisation was driven by the fact that the dowry he gave for his brother's daughter wasn't enough and the poor girl was being tortured in her house....i thought that the girl's mother would've left for her daughter's house and brought her back but she was busy in Nandhini's welcoming ceremony the next day weirded me out but Hemraj said that he has arranged a flight ticket for her daughter....like isn't someone going to fly to her place to bring her back? That girl has been tortured in her house like where are your brains? The mother should've flown to her house

I know that this being the final episode writers didn't want to include unnecessary scenes like that but they could've flashed a message on screen like "2 days later" and shown the same scene of Nandhini getting welcomed with the daughter being present in the house with her mother....i blame the writers the actors were excellent no complaints on them...

The patting yourselves at the back kind of dialouges like "Nandhini brought a revelution in the society" felt more cringe than empowering...like i said in my first thread this show would've been considered a groundbreaking show if it were made in the year 2000.....this entire concept seems outdated in 2024 for instance the girl who was said to be tortured in today's episode; this is not the 90's for the girl to keep quiet due to stigma of divorce or whatever , any woman would've gone striaght to the cops

At the end of the day it was a show and the actors were amazing in it

The writters tried to conclude many subplots in the last five minutes but left out a few....like what about Hemraj's brother and his son cheating him in buisness? I know i should be happy that they atleast concluded the main storyline and didn't leave it hanging , in a nutshell I'm just glad that the show didn't end on a cliffhanger like it did for the other off aird shows of the same prodcution house like BBSAH and Mahisagar...they were informed a month prior to the show's cancelation and they actually gave a conclusion to the show by purging their existing episode bank (they atleast have 26 eps in their bank) and creating new ones to give the show a proper conclusion (however rushed it was) now i hope that BDSAH had also gotten a proper conclusion than a cliffhanger ending :(

Kuch reet jagat ki aisi hai was good and the cast members were AMAZING , wish to see the actors in more showssmiley27

Hope Hats off comes up with another family drama (without any social message) with the same cast like they did for Sukh by chance (2010) ; they almost hired all the cast members from their old show Jasuben Jayantilal joshi ki joint family (2008-2009)

Yeah...the production house should repeat the cast for another one of their shows (they usually repeat the actors for episodic appearances in their other shows but i want them to have a show where they're part of the recurring cast and not guest appearances)

Watch the last 7 episodes for the actual storyline , rest of the episodes are just filler episodes

I know....it's sad cause the supporting cast members in this show are really good but the writting is so meh and in your face than attempting to be subtle that it's just not worth it to binge 70 episodes

That's why i want the supporting cast to get better mainstream shows

(I'm not mentioning leads cause their popularity would fetch them new roles anyway)

I can't believe that the co-producer of this show , Aatish Kapadia is the same perosn who wrote gems like Alpviram and Ek mahal ho sapno ka;

One focused on a sensitive issue and the other was the most realistic family drama (Nandhini's maami , actress Sejal Shah was also a part of EMHSK)

This show was a mix of sensitive issue and family drama which could've been more subtle than in your face kind of treatment which was given to the script

Dialouges like "tum samajh mein badlaav laa gayi" felt more like writers patting themselves in the back and cringe than inspirational cause as i said before ; this show would've been fondly remembered had it aured in the early 2000's but this concept feels outdated in 2024

But atleast the writers tried something new with this show than stick to usual ITV formula so credit where credit is duesmiley32 the new show Pukaar which replaced this is a blatant copy of Sony SAB's Vanshaj so compared to that , this show was miles better

This show might've had it's flaws but the cast members were simply perfectsmiley27

Going to miss this showsmiley13

Everyone should watch Alpviram even if you don't watch EMHSK , Alpviram is a G.O.A.T show
