I don't mind tropes at all.

But what I don't like is, people completely change Dev-Sona characteristics. That is something I don't enjoy. Because the whole point is, if Dev Sona were in this situation, what would the story be like. Changing all their personality traits makes them like they are completely different people and then it is hard to connect, so I don't enjoy that.

This is my issue. I feel people don't understand their basic traits and it doesn't go well. In this FD, at least, I have tried to only read if it was in the Kuch Rang world, because I wasn't impressed with tropes.

But in other FD, like The Hunger Games and all, I have read a lot of fanfiction on different tropes, and boy, they were so well written, so good.. and kept the main characters so appropriate in behavior that even though the universe may be different, I felt like I know the characters and their behavior. I haven't found that much in the Kuch Rang FD. So yeah, if you find a story like that, it will be nice to read!

I agree! These characters are so complex, so human- to the point where when you want to explore them further. When you read certain stories you feel like there's no way Dev would think this or do this. Most of these tropes while perfectly valid feel like entirely different characters just with the same names.

I've probably read fanfiction for every show I've ever seen, and every time the stories that catch my eye are ones that feel like they could easily exist within that universe.

Yes. Tropes are fine, but I end up thinking, no way is this Dev or no way is this Sonakshi. They seem like some random characters with the same names, so I lose interest. I also feel that people imagine the actor and so have a whole different reaction, instead of the character.

I have gone through a lot of fanfiction in this FD and I feel that canon is better than trope here.

I don't think I will attempt writing in tropes for Dev and Sonakshi. I am writing some one-shots and drabbles right now. But if any of you have a scenario in mind, in the universe, I would love to attempt to write a one-shot for it.

Thank you! I am getting requests to continue the latest one! I will certainly consider it!

The other story, Closing the Distance, is my therapy for my own self after the S3 trauma 😂😂 I was so disappointed at how they dropped the ball on every aspect of a beautiful show, so tried to write my own version😭 I hope you read it and let me know what your thoughts!!

Hahaha we all need therapy after the overdose of Psycho in season 3.

Yep, planning on reading it in a couple of days. Will let you know for sure.
