T he star-studded show with a cast of 25 actor€™s, is once again on its last leg. Launched in November last year, Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye (Sahara One), was taken off prime time after two months. Then, it seems producer Naved Antulay with a bit of politi- , cal arm twisting, got the show back on air. It returned in the afternoon slot. Apart from low TRPs, the series has anoth- er set of problems. Apparently, the produc- tion house owes nearly Rs 12 lakh to some actors like Vikram Gokhale and Chaitanya Chaudhary. Spot boys and technicians from the unit have also not been paid. Antulay, it seems, has passed the buck onto the channel. He was unavailable for comment. The channel has decided to take the show off air. Programming head, Kalyan Sunderam, says, €œWe had launched four shows last year. This one just didn€™t register with the viewers in prime time. So, we shifted it to the afternoon slot but unfortunately it€™s not done well there, , too. We€™re soon launching our new set of shows which includes Biggest Loser. So, we€™ve have asked the producer to bring Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye to it€™s natural end.€ On the payments issue, Sunderam says the channel is making its regular payouts and it€™s up to the production house to manage it. €œThe actor€™s contracts are with them,€ he informs. The series is about Vijaypat Raichand, a business tycoon, father of six children and a strict disciplinarian. Krishna the main lead is the daughter-in-law of the house. Ego clashes and disputes within the family lead all the sons to leave Vijaypat. He considers Krishna as his daughter who can reunite the family. It's Krishna's journey in being accepted as the daughter of the house. Gunjan Walia plays the main lead and Vikram Gokhale plays the role of Vijaypat Raichand. Also part of the cast are Rakhshanda Khan and Chaitanya Chowdhary . [email protected]
