Realistic people prefer realistic TV shows: Indira Krishnan

IANS | Jan 31, 2016, 03.20 PM IST
Actress Indira Krishnan, who has been part of showbiz for over a decade, says that audience with a realistic approach prefer more realistic shows on the small screen. "Over the years you are showing the same thing it's so repetitive. You really don't know what audience likes. Suddenly you see a show like 'Naagin' working so well. But people like us, who are so realistic, would prefer some other shows, which are more natural and realistic," Indira told IANS.

The actress, who is seen in the forthcoming TV show "Krishndasi", based on the untold story of the devadasi community, feels "it's very difficult for us to actually say what works (with the audience)". Does she think now it's the end of 'saas-bahu' sagas as there are many mythological and reality shows hitting the small screens?

"I hope so... even I am tired. I didn't do much work last year because I was waiting for a good concept. Though I got a lot of offers and it was typical," she said. The "Firangi Bahu" star says she feels lucky for waiting for a content like "Krishndasi" and adds that she will "pray that it doesn't move out of this content". Indira has also acted in films like "Tere Naam", where she played superstar Salman Khan's sister-in-law, "Hey Bro" and "Team: The Force".

Talking about her other projects in filmdom, Indira says she hopes to get a movie from filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. "I am bagging on my character from 'Krishndasi' to get stronger roles. Getting a film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali would be a great offer for me. He is just brilliant," she said.

Thanks for sharing.
So true. Really want to watch content that not just appeals to the masses but also has a difference.
I dont like it when young women are still portrayed only as ideal marriage material.
