Hello all, This is just something I thought of writing last night. How nice it would have been if Aryaman and Krishna weren't living in the same house as Ananya's family. I find the whole dynamic so weird. It's not much but I hope you all like it. I might turn it into a two-part later. ArShna OS: One step at a time It had been a month since Aryaman and Krishna had been married. Krishna was still staying in the guest room. She already felt guilty for coming in between Aryaman and Ananya and didn’t want to bother Aryaman by being in his room. She also didn’t feel comfortable staying in Aryaman’s room, when Ananya lived in the same house. It was way too awkward. Kundan uncle had stopped talking to Arya and most of the people still felt the same way about Krishna as they did the first day. Krishna didn’t complain at all but Aryaman knew how she felt listening to unnecessary taunts all day. Aryaman knew Krishna didn’t deserve that treatment, so he decided to move out with Krishna and Mohan. Aryaman had made up his mind to try his best to accept Krishna as his wife and make her a part of his life. For that, they would have to start getting comfortable with each other and he didn't think that was possible with Ananya and her family being under the same roof. Aryaman knew Krishna would not agree with his decision to move away from his family. He took a deep breath and knocked on the guest room door. Krishna had just gotten out of the shower and was putting her wet hair down when she heard a knock. She quickly grabbed her dupatta and went to open the door. She opened the door and saw Aryaman standing there with a serious face. “Kya hua Aryaman sir, aap itne pareshan kyu lag rhe ho?” “Woh… mujhe tumse kuch baat karni thi.” He fumbled as he stared at Krishna. He couldn’t help but admire her simplicity. “Ji, aap andar aayiye.” Krishna turned around while moving her wet hair from her back to her shoulder. The motion caused some water droplets to fall on Aryaman’s face. His eyes closed momentarily and he forgot what he was there for. Krishna’s voice brought him out of his trance. He entered the room and closed the door behind him. They both sat on the edge of the bed. “Krishna, tum aur Mohan apna sara samaan pack kar lo, hum kal hi iss ghar se chale jayenge.” Aryaman said in one go, taking Krishna by surprise. “Yeh aap kya keh rhe hai Aryaman sir?” “Pehle toh tumhe maine kitni baar kaha hai mujhe ‘sir’ mat kaha karo. Abb mai tumhara pati hoon.” “Kya fark padhta hai, iss ghar mein koi bhi iss shaadi ko nahi maanta.” She said with a sad smile. “Issi liye maine yeh faisla liya hai Krishna. Mujhe koi farak nhi padhta koi mere baare mein kya sochta hai par mai tumhare aur Mohan ke saath esa bartaav hote hue nhi dekh sakta. Tumhari iss mein koi galti nhi thi aur agar gharwalo ko yeh baat samajh mein nahi aa rhi hai toh mujhe yeh kadam uthaana padega. Abb tumhe khush rakhna meri zimedari hai aur iss ghar mein aisa possible nahi hai.” “Lekin aapka saara parivaar idhar hai.” She tried to reason with him. “Dekho Krishna, mai apni family se boht pyaar karta hoon, aur mujhe bhi khushi nahi milti unse door jaa kar lekin mere paas aur koi option nahi hai. Aur ese hum kabhi bhi aage nahi badh paayenge. Agar hum iss ghar mein rahenge toh hum roz sabko chot denge. I’m sure Ananya ke liye bhi yeh boht mushkil hoga. Isliye mujhe lagta hai k yehi thik rahega.” Krishna comprehended his words and saw his concerns. “Agar aapko yehi sahi lagta hai toh thik hai, hum dono tyaari kar lenge. Aapne baaki sab ko bata dia?” “Nahi. Mai iske baad maa se hi baat karne jaunga.” His eyes looked sad. Krishna couldn’t see him like that and wanted to somehow comfort him. She placed her hand on his and gently squeezed it to assure him that everything would be alright. They sat like that for a few minutes without saying a word. Later, Aryaman talked to his mother and the rest of the family telling them about his decision. Some were happy and some were upset by his decision, but could tell he wouldn’t stay this time. The next morning, Aryaman took Krishna and Mohan to a 3-bedroom apartment he owns. Mohan was happy with this decision because now his didi wouldn’t have to tolerate all the hate in that house. The apartment was on the smaller level but still very spacious and it had a huge balcony looking out at the city. “Chlo Mohan, mai tumhe tumhara kamra dikha deta hoon.” He said while walking towards one of the two bedrooms on one side of the apartment. The main bedroom suite was on the opposite side. Mohan followed him, carrying his bag. He entered the room right behind Aryaman and instantly loved it. It had a balcony as well. “Hum dono iss kamre mein araam se reh lenge, haina Mohan?” Krishna had walked in right after them with all her stuff. Mohan looked at her with a disappointed look. He wanted her to stay with Aryaman so that they could spend more time together. “Nahi didi, mai akela iss room mein rehna chahta hoon. Mujhe pehli baar khud ka kamra milaa hai.” He hoped this would work on her. Krishna didn’t wanna take Mohan’s happiness away, so she let him have the room to himself. “Koi baat nahi Mohan, tu idhar araam se reh, mai saath wale kamre mein reh lungi.” Mohan mentally smacked himself. How did he not see the other spare room? He dragged Krishna to one side and whispered, “Didi tu kaisi baatein kar rhi hai. Teri shaadi hui hai Aryaman sir se, toh tu doosre kamre mein kyu rahegi. Tu toh unke kamre mein rahegi na. Uss ghar mein toh sab baatein sunaate the par yahan toh koi nahi hai.” “Chup kar Mohan. Tu kya bol raha hai.” Krishna knew Mohan was right but the thought of sharing the room with Aryaman sir made her nervous. She fidgeted with her dupatta. “Chlo Krishna, Mohan ko apna samaan set karne do.” And with that Aryaman picked up her bag and they both walked out of the room. Without saying a word, he walked towards his bedroom suite with her bag in his hand. Krishna stared at his back and thought if he realized he had her stuff with him. “Aryaman ji, aap mera samaan kahan lekar jaa rhe hai?” He stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her. “Hamare kamre mein.” The intense look in his eyes made her heart beat faster. “Par.. woh..mai..” She fumbled for words. He moved a little closer. “Tum kya Krishna?” “Hum aapke saath ek kamre mein kaise reh sakte hain?” She couldn’t meet his eyes. “Kyun nahi reh sakti? Aur woh ab sirf mera kamra nahi hai. Tumhara bhi hai. Tum ab meri patni ho yeh ghar bhi tumhara hai, toh mai tumhe mehmano ki tarah nahi rehne de sakta.” He didn’t want her to live like a guest but at the same time didn’t want her to be uncomfortable. “Lekin agar tum comfortable nhi ho toh tum doosre kamre mein reh sakti ho, mera iraada tumhe uncomfortable karne ka bilkul nahi hai.” Krishna didn’t feel uncomfortable in his presence. She rather felt safe and protected. She had never felt that since her mother died. She felt how hard he was trying for her. He was making so many efforts, so it wasn’t fair if she didn’t do the same. “Nahi mujhe koi problem nahi hai.” She accepted earning a tiny smile from him.
