At work Arjun messes with a contract that was left in Kajal care so that she gets blamed for it but Kajal's assistant sees him when he was on krutikka's machine causing the havoc. There was a huge loss due to that act and this affected the health of Manmeet (Samay's dad) who was rushed to UK by Raj. Arjun treacherously implicates Kajal and a case is filed against her by Samay for gross negligence. Kajal is arrested and assumes that Samay is responsible for this. On the other hand, Neetu and Anjala inform Kajal's parents that the marriage has been called off. On hearing about the called off wedding Kajal rushes over to Samay's house only to find out that Neetu wanted him to marry Krutikka and solve all their financial crises. Kajal confronts Malini and she confirms that Krutikka loves Samay and sacrificed her love because of their friendship. Kajal decides to do the same sacrifice but to do it would mean having both Samay and Krutikka hating her and she was successful in doing just that. In order to save the man she loved Krutikka agreed for the marriage. The engagement was carried out and the marriage followed immediately. Manmeet returns in time for the reception but was shocked to see krutikka as his daughter in-law. He promised himself and his family that he will get to the bottom of this misunderstanding.
Manmeet convinces Kajal to re-join the office as he discovers that Kajal had actually sacrificed her love for Samay to save his company. Kajal agrees as she realises that Samay needs her professional expertise at this moment but tells him not to tell Samay as his happiness now lies with Krutikka. Samay is shocked to see Kajal in office and makes life difficult for her. Arjun instigates Krutikka and tells her that Kajal has rejoined office to snatch Samay from her. Krutikka is now suspicious of Kajal. Samay in the meantime disregards Kajal's advice regarding a contract and further insults her in an official meeting. Leading to a huge fight between them and Samay throws her out of the office. Its Krutikka 's birthday and Krutikka is happy with the news that Kajal is no longer working with Samay. However, Samay during the birthday party discovers a letter written by Malini to Kajal and he finds out that Kajal had actually sacrificed her love for him for the sake of her friendship with Krutikka and also to save his business. He rushes out of the party to meet her; Krutikka notices that Samay is missing. Kajal refuses back together with Samay and tell him not to say anything especially for the sake of krutikka. Krutikka follows Samay and finds him with Kajal. Kajal has resigned from her job but is aware of the severe financial crisis that her family faces as her father has lost his job. On the other hand, Krutikka is happy that she is finally rid of Kajal and there may be hope of getting close to Samay finally. Kajal faces despair and Krutikka... hope.
Kajal Applies for a job in an international firm and gets the job with a boss (Kushal) who seemed like he was sent from God himself. He was very nice to Kajal at a party and that made Samay uneasy…all this happened under the watchful eye of Arjun. Kajal is extremely embarrassed when she goes to college and overhears sniggering remarks about her "affair" with her boss Kushal. On entering the canteen, she sees Arjun and realizes that he is responsible for spreading these rumours(Insult to injury) and finally Kajal loses her patience and slaps him and gives him a piece of her mind. Arjun is stunned by this bold act that caused him such humiliation. He vows revenge and hatches a plan that will ruin Kajal's life. Kushal Rai was a part of this conspiracy, since Kushal and Arjun are very good friends. Arjun and Kushal sets Kajal up for a rape scandal that was published in all the papers.
Kajal's father suffers a heart attack on seeing the pictures of Kajal and Arjun splashed on the front page of the newspapers. Manmeet realizes that his son is responsible for ruining Kajal's reputation. He decides to make amends. Manmeet threatens to change his will and disown Arjun unless he agrees to marry Kajal. Arjun asks Kajal and her parents for forgiveness. Kajal is very confused and decides to seek Kushal's advice. Kajal is shocked when she goes to Kushal's house and sees Arjun and Kushal hand in glove. She is stunned but overcomes her shock and decides that she will not accept defeat and ill treatment and now she too will play the game and give it back to them, Kajal has figured out that Arjun has an ulterior motive behind the marriage & her own boss is a part of the conspiracy. She decides to accept the proposal so that she can beat Arjun at his own game. Manmeet is overwhelmed by Kajal's decision to get married to his son. On the other hand Malini is shocked by the news that Kajal will be in the same house as her daughter. Manmeet faces dissentient from his entire family as every one is against this marriage. Neetu travels out of town.
