If her brigade of small screen discoveries can lend their faces to brands, why not the creator herself? The buzz doing the rounds of the telly world is that Balaji head honcho Ekta Kapoor is being approached for product endorsements.

It is learnt that in the past too, she had been approached, but turned down the offers, including one to endorse a jewellery brand. When asked, Kapoor says, "Right now I am doing nothing of that sort." But earlier she had admitted, "Yes, someone has approached me. But I know nothing of it as yet. Nothing has moved."

Banks and jewellery brands were apparently keen to get her to endorse their brands. Though she was not open to the idea, it looked like kya Ekta ab model banegi? Considering that Kapoor has always believed in diversification — she has now decided to foray into the incense sticks industry (Ekta incensed, Mid Day, January 10).

Ekta on TV

Kapoor was seen on television in the 1,000th episode special of her Star Plus daily, Kyunki Saas Bhi Khabhi Bahu Thi, in April 2005. Ekta had shared with viewers the journey of the mother of all Balaji soaps.

Earlier, in June 2004, she had featured in the talent hunt promos of her MTV soap, Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, as part of the process to find new faces for the daily.
