Selecting the accessories: Ekta Kapoor with Nim Sood

Ekta Kapoor goes trousseau shopping...

...But only for the grand wedding in her show Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai

Reena Thapar Kapoor

The brain behind Balaji was last seen taking some time off from her hectic schedule to pick some bridal clothes and jewellery. But hold your imagination as it has nothing to with Ekta Kapoor's wedding. It is just that she wanted to personally oversee the selection of outfits for the mega wedding in her show Kaisa Yeh Pyar hai.

Ekta and her aunt, designer Nim Sood have put together the wedding trousseau for Kripa and Angad, the protagonists of the show. "I've slogged to get this trousseau ready," says Nim Sood. Apart from being the official stylist for the production house, the lady also happens to be Ekta Kapoor's masi, "I think Ekta and I have a fabulous understanding. She just has to visualise the look of the character and I ready it for her."

As for Kripa's outfit she says, "I've used a lot of embroidery and cutwork for the lehenga. I used purple for her sangeet outfit and now for her wedding outfit I'm only using gold. I've also done intricate gold embroidery on a golden net dupatta. It will go well with Kripa's dusky complexion."

Sood says that designing for Angad was equally challenging, "Angad would be wearing a gold sherwani that will compliment Kripa's outfit. "

The lavish and exclusive collection cost a fortune, "We spent a lakh and a half on Kripa's outfit and about sixty thousand on Angad's sherwani."

The jewellery that Sood has designed is mainly of gold and kundan. "Normally it takes a week to do a wedding outfit," she informs.

NIM LOVES TO DESIGN FOR

* Amrita Singh: "She carries my saris with grace."

* Natassha: "Western or Indian, she looks good in whatever she wears."

* Sudha Chandran:
"The lady is always willing to experiment in terms of looks."

* Urvashi Dholakia:
"She is a true style icon."

* Sakshi Tanwar:
"With her rustic Indian beauty she looks the best in colourful saris and chunky jewellery."

Hmm looks good to me, Ekta seems to tell Nim
