Star Profile: Kritika Kamra
Kritika Kamra is a name that needs no introduction. Such is her following that mere mention of her name creates a buzz anywhere. The 21-year-old Punjabi girl (born: October 25, 1988) shot to fame with Balaji Telefilm's Kitani Mohabbat Hai, for portraying the lead role of Arohi.
This stunning beauty from Madhya Pradesh did her schooling from New Delhi. Kritika's father is a doctor and her mother is a working woman.
Kritika was pursuing her career at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi, when producers for Yahan Ke Hum Sikander came for on campus auditioning at NIFT. They told her about Kitani Mohabbat Hai as well. She got selected and left NIFT and Delhi as well, to work on her debut show Yahan Ke Hum Sikander. Once in Mumbai, she realized that acting was her call! When she got the lead role of Arohi, in Ekta Kapoor's TV show Kitani Mohabbat Hai, with Karan Kundra- the handsome and dashing young actor of the Indian Television – as Arjun, the male lead role, Kritika accepted the offer.
When she left behind NIFT to enter the world of glamour, Kritika had no clue what she was getting into! This one simple decision has put her on an echelon of fame and popularity that she might not have been able to achieve after many, many years of hard working in the field of fashion designing! Kritika Kamra and Karan Kundra, her beau in real life and on the small screen as well, have created such charisma on the screen, that for the first time in the Indian Television history, the producer Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms and the channel NDTV Imagine, are compelled to bow to the public demand, and make a sequel of the show!
