This can't be called a "happy ending"...in the book too Abel reconciles with his daughter and son-in-law and gives his silver band to his grandson. After that he passes away.
In the show, we're supposed to assume that. In that 1985 american series too they didn't show Abel's death in the finale. They just showed Kane's death and Abel coming to know the truth and reconciling and being remorseful. I had posted a youtube video back in the day.

@ Ramy25

First even I thought that they would show Kabir's death. And as per the novel he dies sometime after Kane dies. But Abel gets to reconcile with his daughter and son-in-law, which unfortunately Kane does not get an opportunity to do. I was happy they ended at the point where Abel realises the whole truth and makes up with all. the scene between Lubna-Kabir was too good. The return of the old Kabir was a pleasure to watch. I loved the finale episode. So beautifully done. Totally underplayed and Rahul Bagga stole the show yesterday. His expressions, the manner in which he walks...like an old defeated person filled with remorse...too good. I will miss this show a lot. It will not be wrong to admit that after watching a classy show like this all other serials have begun to pall.

Btw Ramy25under what title was the American Show aired? was it under the name of the book? Would love to watch it.

@Nanny--- I think it was "Kane & Abel". I haven't watched the series myself as i wasn't even born when it aired😆 but i had youtubed it when I heard about this show coming to air. So search for "Kane & Abel" in youtube and you can also find the information about the series on IMDB.

@Suneel-- lol he died in the book. But in the American tv series that Nanny and I were discussing, they didn't show Abel's death just like in Kismat with Kabir.
