Be it in our fiction or in general Indian society, however sleazy womanizer, pervert or creep a man mainly a boss/owner gets shown onscreen, one who tends to cross boundaries asking indecent favors from female colleagues, still they are mostly shown bit skeptical approaching a married woman.
Societal & cultural thought process gets shown affecting a man's mindset, somewhat here.
Keeping aside Aarav and his blood cancer criticality reasons, had Viaan known Katha isn't unmarried but a married woman without a kid, just living away from husband
would he even impulsively be thinking to test her character with such an indecent proposal, that he made in his cabin?
Same thing, will Ehsan as a boss in a rush feel or hint that attraction, crush, liking or seeking personal friendship with Katha?😔 had Ehsan known earlier itself Katha isn't a single unmarried woman, as assumed?
I've thought about this a lot and the one thing that keeps crossing my mind is the fact that Katha not telling them anything about her past and kid, leading everyone in the office to believe that she is single, was probably the biggest thing that led to the progression of all these events. Of course she lied for a reason given all the struggles she was going through as a single mother and her child having cancer so she obviously didn't foresee her future after taking up that job with a lie. But as far as Viaan's perception goes he had zero hint about her being married let alone having a child so to him she was just another single woman he's come across in the past. Though that still doesn't give him the right to test a woman by any means but had he known that Katha was married I doubt this whole thing would have happened because he just doesn't seem like that type of guy. Ig this is probably going to be the biggest life lesson for Viaan to not judge any woman after this and sadly he had to learn it this way.

Viaan has been having troubles trusting women romantically. He doesn't really hate women in general, but is afraid of a heart break. All he has came across women who are more interested in his status rather than him, as a person. In this situation, had they shown Viaan getting involved with Katha romantically that would be out of character for him. He has been fighting his attraction towards her and that's where the ONS test comes. He knew that Katha would either pass or fail. If she passed he would no longer fight his attraction and try to build a normal relationship and if she failed he would convince himself that she was a gold digger like others and move on. But Katha does the unexpected. She goes ahead with ONS, gets the money but still can't afford to get comforts. He can't make sense of it, which is why the Kyu question bothers him. The kyu is extremely important (in his opinion) because his pass or fail depends on that.
