did they mean boj or bhoj? If it's the latter than it has a completely different meaning but would still apply to Viaan, I guess.

Viaan will have to try everything under the sun and more to earn Katha's forgiveness. But papaG had it easy. His wife is liked by both Katha and Aarav. Now that papaG has hugged Aarav and gotten a bit emotional..it's easy access to his grandchild now. There's little Katha can do.

PapaG knew that Katha needed the money and she needed it fast. He knew everything. He still refused. Viaan on the other hand knew nothing and didn't attempt to know anything. Who committed a bigger crime? I would say it is PapaG. It's his own blood..his own grandchild that he shunned. He has all the money in the world and refused to spare some. He could have given it as charity. He could have said I don't say no to even a stranger so here's the money. But no, he was vindictive and bitter.

But who is going to suffer now? It's going to be Viaan. PapaG will enjoy with his grandson..all his mistakes are brushed under the carpet now. But Viaan will have to beg and plead for forgiveness.

Well PapaG will have no leg to stand on when the ONS truth comes out. He better take her side or say nothing.

like I said before in parent-conflict thread, my lens is different because I have seen real parent-child conflict.

1. once we start doing tally of who is wrong or who is wrong more, the conflict never ends. it not only goes on for years but keeps snowballing into bigger and bigger and bigger conflicts. it also gets uninvolved people into the conflict as people have to pick sides. serious headache.

2. it may not be obvious but papaG willing to come down and allow mamaG to invite katha and aarav itself is a huge step. it means he too wants reconciliation. so taking that first step is a lot harder than one thinks. you have to put aside your own pride, selfish feelings and hurt. you have to be willing to be hospitable. so that takes a lot more from a person than what we think.

3. while it may seem that papaG is not going to suffer, actually he is the type of personality that will suffer enormously when he realizes what katha has done to raise the money. he will take it personally and will hurt.

4. yes, papaG cursing aarav is bad but people say nasty things in heat of moment. to be honest, am not surprised because I have heard stuff on those lines and you are thinking "come on! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ" ... and a while later, the same person is feeling awful and saying "but why are they fighting with me like this?!"... and again, you are thinking "come on! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ"

5. papaG rejecting katha's request -- depends on your lens. if I just see it from katha's perspective, it seems heartless but then when I see it from the perspective of family conflicts, it happens often in different formats. when people are so caught up in their feelings, they don't want to have anything to do with the othe party. instead, it is indifferent "you take care of your own problem, am not getting involved."...

so before he didn't know aarav. now he does. so papaG will hurt whenever he thinks of how he behaved.

having witnessed real life family conflicts, will say that there is no such thing as instant redemption or reconciliation. basically some hurts cannot be undone and some distance will be there. it may take years to bridge those gaps and let those feelings go. and people feel bad later for the things they said and did. it can eat them up -- if we see a sensitive track (am just being hopeful for this drama), then we might see those feelings come into play.

if we are going through typical ITV shenanigans, then yes, it can seem like papaG didn't face any consequences. we will have to really wait and see how it plays out. a bit too early to call.

I feel like you're totally echoing my thoughts in this post. This was the same interpretation I had of the situation. Regarding point #3 I don't know how it played out in the original but I would love to see it here. I also want him to realize what a good person Katha is and how well she raise Aarav. Maybe he knows deep down by now but he should acknowledge that she never was and never will be a gold digger.

Just saw the episode and first thing I have to say is I really loved the scene between Viaan and Ehsan. It actually felt like they had a proper conversation with each other after a long time with love for each otherπŸ˜†β€οΈ. Please makers if you're reading this please don't make Ehsan negative and keep their bromance alive. Ehsan's crush on Katha was enough till this point let him move on to his hot babe as per his preferences because I also don't want to see him suffer. I really want to see him stand by Viaan whenever he is in trouble rather than fight against him.

Coming to the whole revelation track for Viaan, I felt so bad for him even though I shouldn't for the pain and regret he had on his face as he was trying to process the truth. Those veins poppin was scary ngl i wonder if this dude was okay irl after that scene lol. I think Adnan was quiet on point with his expressions and acting for this scene. Waiting for the confrontation between him and Katha now and I'm sure he will kill it there too.

There were some indications, such as when Viaan asked Katha to not stand in front of the slideshow as she was "distracting" him. But these indications were not enough. I think that the makers could have spent more time showing the audeince that Viaan was attracted to her, as that's an important element of the story.

I think they didn't show the attraction on purpose. so there are cultural differences as well as producer differences in approach of the drama. we can see that in the title.

the original is titled 1000 nights. so the drama was focused on the ML's pain and twisted view of the world and how he changes after that night. he is the anti-hero and so they didn't shy away from showing his attraction because the night is central to everything.

in the arabic version, the title means "the price". I thought that was really interesting. immediately the title gives me a sense of this world where nothing is free and you have to pay for what you want. there is no free lunch. so it makes sense why the ML would be shown having some attraction towards her. even the monologue in the beginning showed his world view -- that love is nothing but a game but really a project for the woman to get what she wants. so basically if you want love, you need to pay. there is a price. so he pays for her time.

the hindi version is titled "katha ankahee" - the title immediately tells you the focus is on katha. not the night. not the ML. not this bitter capitalist tye view of the world. no, it is about katha, her struggles, her pain. because of this, we got a lot about her in the initial episodes. we still don't know what has shaped viaan and all the things about him. this is about her struggles and what she did out of mother's love. so if they put in viaan being attracted to her, it would have appeared sleazy and adding to her pain. people would have rejected viaan.
