Part 4

Prerna changes her dress & comes out.

Rishab Bajaj also wears his clothes.

Rishab & Prerna were about to leave.

On the way Prerna thinks in her mind:

Prihu, have you lost it.

You were making out with your friend that to in a change room.

Were you mad, Prerna?

You have an engagement next week, and you are making out with your best friend.

Suddenly her phone rings.

Prerna: hello

Anurag: hey baby, what's up?

Prerna: nothing just went for lehnga selection

And all her and Rishab moment flashed in her mind.

She didn't hear what Anurag said.

Anurag: Prerna are u listning

Prerna: sorry, signal problem; what were you saying???

Anurag: I have called you to inform you that I have to come to London. We will go back to India & get engaged the following week.

Prerna: How will I come???

Anurag: I am sending you both tickets

Prerna: Both?

Anurag: yes, you and Rishab

Prerna: me and Rishab????

Anurag: Of course, Prerna. If our family is your concern, I have spoken to Moloy. He has no objection.

You guys have a flight tonight.

Prerna: tonight, Anurag, you shud have told in advance. You haven't informed Rishab either.

Anurag: I tried your number. But the signals were not reaching your number. So I have informed Rishab. Moreover, you are the best person to help Rishab in his packing.

Prerna: me????

Anurag: Yes, Prerna. What happened? Why are you getting so surprised? You always help Rishab to pack his bags.

Prerna: Nothing, I thought that you gave a short notice. We have not even started.

Anurag: It's not a big deal for you as you have experience in packing. Bye, baby, I got to see you soon.

Prerna: bye

Anurag: Prerna, stop behaving so weird. As soon as you reach, start packing Rishab's bags right away.

Rishab & Prerna reach home & meet Veena.

Prerna: Mom, Anurag wants to spend some time with me before our engagement. So he asked Rishab & me to come to London.

Veena: Thank God, I have got some breathing space. It's good that you guys spend more time understanding each other before entering the relationship.

Prerna completes her packing & went to Rishab's room.

The door was closed for the first time. Prerna hesitated to go to his room, where they had spent time with each other.

She remembers her moments with Rishab.

Flashback

Prerna suddenly enters the room.

Rishab: Prihu, what are you doing. At least, you knock on the door. I am in the towel right now.

Prerna looks at him

Prerna: Rish, come on, you know that I will never rape you, ok?

Rishab: I know that you won't. But have some decency. What will your mother think?

Prerna: ooh, come on! When did mighty and intelligent Rishab start getting scared ???????

Rishab: Bajaj is not scared of anyone.

He starts wiping his hair with another towel, sitting on the bed.

Prerna comes behind and takes the towel, and starts drying Rishab's hair.

Rishab: Prihu, do remember to train my wife how to do this, ok

Prerna: What? Using towel ??????

Rishab: She should not be like you

Prerna: and my husband should not be like you.

Rishab: you are my best buddy

Prerna: and u are mine

Prerna opens the door.

The lights were still on, and all room messed up.

Prerna: ok, Prerna Sharma, don't come in this room for two days as Rishab would make an incredible mess. I wonder how Koma will handle it.

Prerna finally sees that Rishab was sleeping on the bed in his jeans.

Prerna: Mad fellow!

She goes near him and puts her hand on his cheek.

Prerna: you look like a baby.

She opens his almirah and packs his stuff, and leaves a note.

Prerna switches off the light and goes out.

Suddenly, Prerna's phone rings.

She sees Anurag's call & receives it.

Veena and Rajesh were living with Rishab and his sister, Purnima. At that time, Prerna was five years old.

They had taken his responsibility ever since Rishab and Purnima had lost their parents.

Veena was happy for Rishab that he had become a successful entrepreneur. She was the only guardian to Prerna after she lost her father, Rajesh.

Prerna was five years old when Rishab & Purnima moved to Sharma Mansion Prerna was Rajesh’s daughter & Kartik’s friend.

Purnima & Kartik knew each other at the beginning. They were lovers since school days.

Rishab and Prerna knew each other since childhood.

For few years, Rishab’s mother, Baljeet Bajaj, kept Prerna and Rishabh equally, but when one day, she died due to cancer.

Rishab was alone, and he was never close to his father. His mother was a world to him.

So, when she died, Rishab closed and sat in his room alone.

Everyone tried, but only Prerna was able to go into his room.

That day Prerna was the only one who didn't cry. The last time Rishab wept was for his mother, which he did in front of Prerna, his best friend. He was able to live again only because of Prerna, and they became closer to each other.

Later Rajesh ensured that Prerna and Rishab study in the same school because he knew that only Prerna was able to bring him back.

Kartik & Purnima also studied in the same school.

Prerna and Rishab were inseparable friends & classmates. They were punished together for playing all games& pranks with others. Both felt each other’s pain.

Both Veena and Rajesh thought that Rishab and Prerna would marry each other, but to their shock when Anurag came to Sharma House for Prernawith a marriage proposal, much against Mohini’s wishes. Prerna agreed to marryAnurag. Veena had waited for Rishab’s reaction, to which he said, “No." Prerna had decided to marry Anurag for Komalikaand Rishab.

Prerna went to her room.

She decides to find out what had happened between them. So, she calls Purnima.

Prerna: Hey Purnima, do you need help?

Purnima: What babes????

Prerna: Actually, I have a problem with my chat friend.

Purnima: Yes, ask.

Prerna: She slept with her best friend, but I don’t know the reason. She’s getting married to someone else, but she has developed feelings for her friend. What’s it???

Purnima: she might be feeling guilty, or she might be in love

Prerna: What??? How can I love? How will she know she is in love with her friend?

Purnima: There are seven ways to find whether you and the guy love each other or not.

Prerna: What are they????

Purnima:

1. Possessiveness

2. Inner talk

3. Dream

4. Protective

5. Jealousy

6. Hurt

7. Fear of losing

Prerna: ok, if he passes all this, he is in love???

Purnima: Yes, people say there is a fragile line between friendship and love, so most of the time, people don't know whether they are in love or not

Prerna: ok, bye.

Prerna: 7 days are there.

She decides to experiment with her & Rishab’s love test.

Kartik knocks on the door. Purnima opens the door & gets happy to see him.

Will komolika be there?prerish childhood story was touchy.surprising that you added karthik purnima.thanks.so anupre were not in love n it was an arranged alliance which happened bcz of anurag's one sided love?prerna agreed to marry anurag for bajlika means?purnima making prerna understand slowly that she loves rishab was nice.you ended the scene with karthik purnima.please continue their scene in the next part.i wish to read on them.nice pic

Hey thanks for updating. It's a very nice chapter. just a little advice make the scenes a little clearer, you kind of jump from one scene to another very quickly & it can be a little confusing. Example prerna was in RB's room drying his hair then she went back in and he was sleeping. I know she probably went back at night just make this a little clearer. I hope you don't mind 😊 But very nice chapter. Can't wait to find out what happens next.

Purnima: Come in

Kartik enters. Purnima gives him a glass of water.

Kartik: I think it's time for us to become one.

Purnima: Yes, but will your mother agree? People have rejected me because of my color, but I always believed that someone would love me irrespective of my dark complexion.

Kartik: And your belief is correct. I didn't develop feelings for you because of your color, but your good deeds, like your helping nature.

Purnima: I heard that your mom hates people with a dark complexion. So I came across a person who said it would make me fairer if I used that cream.

Kartik: No, you need not change for anyone. Whether people accept you or not, but I love you. After all, I would be spending my life with you. Today is my birthday which we will be celebrating at my place. So I request you to come.

Purnima: Sure.

Kartik: If possible, get Prerna.

At Sharma House

Prerna packs up Rishab's belongings.

Rishab: Why are you packing mine?

Prerna: Even you have got the ticket to London.

Rishab: Fine, we have a birthday party and a farewell party in the evening.

Prerna: Yes, I remember.

Rishab and Prerna reach Kartik's place. All of them celebrate his birthday and give him birthday bumps. Kartik and Purnima feed the cake to each other. Suddenly, Kartik plays fast music.

Rishab: I love fast music. Is there anyone here to dance with me?

He dances with every girl while Prerna keeps herself away. However, she looks at Rishab dancing with other ladies with jealousy. Rishab was so much drunk.

Prerna: It is now time for us to leave.

Rishab: Five minutes, please.

He keeps up his word & decides to leave with Prerna.

Suddenly he turned & said, "Cover your shoulders, Prerna. Your marks are visible."

Prerna: Thanks, Rishab.

She covers her shoulders with a shawl.

Rishab: hey babes...so finally leaving...

God, after all, listened to me.

Purnima: shut up, Rishab.

Rishab: I will miss you a lot

Prerna: Even I would miss you.

Purnima: drinks...

Prerna: nooo

Rishab looks at her.

Prerna: i am trying to give up drinking.

Purnima: babes’ wine...

Prerna: ok...

Riya comes there.

Riya: hey, Rish boy...a dance?

Rishab: sure...

And Rishab goes dancing with her...

Prerna gets thoroughly jealous.

She goes to the bar with Purnima.

Prerna:one shot plzzz.

Purnima: i thought you were quitting...

But Prerna's eyes were only on Rishab.

Prerna: how could Rishab dance with some other girl when he is getting engaged?

Purnima smiled

Purnima:but Koma is not here

Prerna: So, what? If he loves Koma, he will not dance with any other lady like that. See the direction of his hands.

Purnima: babes, he dances in the same way with everyone, including you.

Prerna: come on now, you will compare me with those ladies?

So Rishab’s past was with any other girl or only you?

Koma: Thank you, Prerna, for clearing my confusion.

Prerna: I don’t feel anything. OK.

Flashback ends.

Prerna, in a drunken state, said, “Purnima is like this only. She was kidding. I know it.

Koma, trust me. What will Anurag think?

SuddenlyPrerna felt like throwing up & she vomited

Prerna: ooh god...what’s happening?

She washes her face and sees it in the mirror... She recollects the images of the changing room, and she thinks something...

Prerna is in her thought and goes out...

She hears the sound, disturbing her ears...

Purnima: Prerna, where are you? Are you ready?

Prerna: No.

Her eyes were getting heavy...

Purnima: Oh God,

She shouts, “Rishab.”

Prerna faints. Rishab comes fast.

Rishab: Prerna, are you okay?

He picks her in his arms, but Prerna wakes up.

Prerna: Rishab (in a low voice)

Rishab: Prerna, thank god you are okay... I was scared.

He helps her to stand up.

Prerna: I think i am pregnant

Rishab is in a fix. He stops in his tracks & said, “Oh my God.”

The farewell party is over.

Purnima goes to Kartik.

Purnima: You told me that your mother would be there, but she didn't turn up.

Kartik: I guess she got in the meeting. I don't know when she will come. I think it's time for you to leave. Tomorrow is my birthday. But I told Rish to lie to Prihu about my birthday; otherwise, she wouldn't have agreed to come as she would be busy shopping.

Kartik drops Purnima to her place.
