Birha chapter 3

One of dehi's 5 star hotels yet the crowd wasn't due the usual season of celebrities or businesses take ins it was all down to one lady "gauri kapoor." Playing at a nearby venue it was gauris big night. Launch of her new album in the city and the event was a success. Coming to the end of the day and all that was left to do now was wind up all the success and take rest little did she know that what she thought tomorrow to be a day of rest was no ordinary day it was the day she had been waiting ever so passionately for in this past year. Returning from her final stage show gauri feels the ease now, entering the surroundings of her hotel room she takes a sigh of relevie a few more days and her function here would be over with. Taking a seat on her bed..more a slouched drop gauris discomfort a t the dress she was wearing was evident yet again it was one of those things that shashank had insisted on because it was a way of giving herself that touch of modern. Yet as always gauris expression showed that she hated it. Discomfort or more irritation gauri had got used to it that little yet still she found it more of a burden. Making awkward faces at its wear..the most suited thing for the situation was that she could express her irritation to shashank. Because as usual shashank had implemented what he thought was the best and the best in this case was a 5 star hotel room..in fact two rooms one for himself and the other for gauri yet they weren't ordinary rooms but as the hotel manager had described they were beyond 5 star yet that meant that instead of a normal wall between the two rooms..there was a glass that parted the two spaces. So gauri could see shashank perfectly from where she was sitting in her room and that gave her the opportunity to pull the ugliest of faces at him. Demonstrating her hatred of both dress. As she pulled faces and watched shashank take it totally lightly gauri wasn't pleased and just to prove the point gauri made sure she made eye contact with shashank through the glass got off the bed walked the distance of her wardrobe and on purpose pulled out a saari... walking up to the far end past her bed she stopped at the glass. Giving shashank a glare she pulled the blinds shut.

........The next morning and as per characteristic gauri was determined to emphasise that whatever the case may be she had her own authority as gauri kapoor over shashank anyway and so to make that clear today gauri was dressed how she wanted. Looking as simple and beautiful as ever in a shade of black the selection of attire was probably due to the sort of occasion. A dinner with a prospect client and as always gauri was the most stunning..still some of that professional influence or shashanks influence that meant gauri had refrained from wearing her mangalsutra and sindhoor again but that was something had lived with for a year now not having it in public was something that became usual for gauri even if it was something she was against. Returning from the business dinner walking alongside each other through the entrance of the hotel..shashank makes comments of appreciation "tum janti ho na your the best, youll be topping the charts next." Gauri couldn't care less for her this dream of being a singer was something she had always wanted to do but being away from shiv was more of a matter. Something that seemed to deepen with time..the need to see him and yet that expression even today was drowned in a sense of wait for shiv yet little did gauri know that shiv was only steps away. Further down from where gauri was making her entrance shiv was at the reception desk to the hotel but before he could talk to the receptionist the fact that shiv kapoor was around had seemed to spread. Had Shiv was as ever comfortably happy with the chit chat of a few fans that had made crowd for his appearance. On or two seeming that the rest seemed not to no who he was. Signing a few book covers of two teenage girls, shiv was as e very charming. His appearance that had changed over the year still had its influence. The balance of that antique writer look mixed with the attraction of shiv kapoor worked wonders. In what was almost a regular look for him now shiv was dressed in a badge coloured blazer which topped a white shirt and something which was more of an attachment then anything his red scarf. Something one of his fans had given him yet it seemed to be the perfect touch to his appearance..that and the pair of glasses that hung of his side pocket. All traits of the change in shiv. A more of a happier..relaxed a more in love shiv...in love with life as well as the one whom was his life. And the comfort of his character showed in the way he carried himself..a smile a laughter or even just a signature anything to make his fans happy..yet the sparkle on shivs face was something different today. Knowing that after the end of one whole year he was about to lay eyes on gauri. Calm as per persona but something showed it off today. Whilst shiv was busy attending to his distractions gauri had approached closer. Shashank busy going on about professional talk gauri is the first one to spot shiv. What was the back of a very familiar figure gauri couldn't be mistaken. That same feeling shiv she got every time she was around him. Her eyes showed the sort of excitement she carried at first glance and the expression showed the overwhelmed feeling of her husbands presence. Only steps away and even from this distance gauris emotion had taken a heavy stride. Mixed emotion and glazed eyes gauri prompts shashank just to make sure that what she was seeing was in fact reality. Tapping shashank alongside his arm to get his attention gauris words come out a little misbalanced than normal. All the while keeping her sight on shiv she just wanted confirmation. "shashank woh..." shashank diverting his attention from all his strategic talk confirms but his expression is far from the one of somebody who is happy. Looking at shiv shashank seems to confess something. "hah woh anupam keh raha tha ke shiv...." gauris one looked stopped shashank from speaking further it was a look of happiness mixed with a why did I not know yet gauri didn't seem to hold it for too long. Ignoring all gauri set out to take a few steps which would take her in shivs direction although thinking something she stopped. Looking down at her appearance gauri stopped for a second and instead of carrying on into shivs direction she turned back and walked away..shashank left surprised yet as he watched her walk away he noticed that she had taken to the ladies. As per surroundings every part of this hotel was luxurious and near enough as good as shivs chain of hotels but the element of interest was more so gauri who had taken to the ladies room in a rush and now standing in front of a certain mirror was looking at her own expression. Pleased overwhelmed emotional all in one. For eyes showed a certain glow of excitement yet her posture was slightly misbalanced even nervous. Looking at herself in the mirror she looked as perfect as ever yet there was something that needed changing. Looking down at her handbag which was perfectly suited to her appearance at sat at the side of the wash basin. Gauri opening her bag took a reach within. Taking out what was her mangalsutra and even a small container which by the looks of it was sindoor gauri expression seemed to take to some kind of relief mixed with happiness. Walking out of the restroom shashank is the first one to notice the difference. "gauri yey kya.??.tum jaanti ho ke tumare yaha kitne fans hai...tume savalo se sath pareshan karenge..aur.." this is one of the excuse shashank would use time and time again and at times gauri couldn't define if it was a profession related concern he had or something else but today gauri couldn't care less. Coming out with her touch ups of sindhoor and the mangalsutra she wore all added to her beauty and not to mention confidence. Gauri couldn't care less showing that her attachment to her husband was above all. Looking at shashank with a sense of meaning gauri hoped that he undersood her feeling after spending time together for a year yet she was wrong. "aagar ko fans mujse is baar mein saval kare toe mein une toe javab de sakti hoon magar Mr Kapoor ne muje is bare mein saval kiya toe mein une kya kahungi." Gauris words meaningful kind of implicated that shashank was imposing a restriction upon her which see was unhappy with. Overlooking it all gauri was far to exited or even nervous to be in the presence of shiv and dropping the conversation topic gauri made her advance. From where she was she could see only the back of shiv but it was enough to build up that certain feeling inside. Taking steps that illuminated that distance gauris eyes seemed to mellow with happiness even before she had got near shiv. Noticing the one or two fans he had around him gauri was more than pleased to see the success of her husband with her own eyes. The feeling took over..excitement with emotion as she got closer..how she had missed him in this past year even cried in his absence and now after was seemed like such a long time she was to see him again. A certain nervousnss questioned what there interaction would be like..or even how she should approach him. Things had changed in the last year but all time on her own gauri had always thought that when she would lay eyes on shiv the first thing she would want is to melt into his arms. Now that she was getting closer to that moment things seemed to change. Walking closer and enclosing the space between them shiv was still with his back to her was unaware of her presence yet he was prepared. He was about to ask the receptionist about the room gauri was staying in now that his fans had left yet just as he turned to do so gauris tone of voice was evident. "Mr kapoor." Shiv could define that tone of voice anywhere in the world. There was only one person who called him in such a soft mannerism that to with an addition of his formal name.

Knowing that it was gauri an instant smile came to play on shivs expression turning from the reception desk his expression could be defined as a very in love shiv kapoor. His ease posture and not to mention the sort of love filled look in his eyes was intense. The charm of a smile accompanied all that it was just what gauri had missed in that time apart. Turing to look at gauri shivs smile deepened even further she was as stunning as ever. Just the same as she was a year ago nothing had changed. Gauri dropping her gaze somewhat she couldn't help glazing up at her husband and that one glance for her had become a fixaction on him. Both capturing each other after such a long time there expressions were filled with the same look of love for one and other. An expression and feeling which conveyed that they had missed each other so much. Shiv was dying to take gauri in to his arms and gauri wanting to be close to her husband yet in an environment were people were sounding n them aseptically gauris fans who had interrupted the moment asking for the usual autograph and interaction the moment between shiv and gauri still remained. Gauri silence the look in her eyes and shivs patience of being interrupted gave of the same feeling. As gauris fans seemed to wait aside they were still watching. As gauri felt the interrupted shiv was at ease about it and simply. Shashank taking over the fan following and quietening down the atmosphere with a few of gauris fans here and there...

As gauri overlooked everything emotion for her is something that took over..watching shiv just smile at the surroundings and not worry. As calm and loving as ever and look at her in that certain way she felt comforted. Feeling the need to somehow interact with shiv on a closer level gauri feels conscious of eyes watching opts for a more formal interaction which to is intervened this time by shashank. As gauri lowers herself a little as a gesture of taking blessings from shiv but shashank seems to intervene in a very different way. Stepping in and dropping a handkerchief just in time makes the moment look like nothing more than an minor incident . Stopping gauri from taking shivs blessing in front of a crowd of her fans. Feeling the strain of the moment gauri was displeased yet for shiv it was something he understood yet to lightly. His expression showed understanding for gauris gesture and an overlooked gesture towards shashank. As shashank interrupted picking up the handkerchief up casually to cover the moment up perfectly gauri also picking herself up somewhat unhappy in terms of facial expressional. "tum kyun taklif kar rahi ho gauri, mein hoon na" gauri knew why it was, again it was shashanks way of showing that gauri should be purely professional in front of her fans and not mix personal life with professional but she didn't at all like the situation and the way shashank had deferred from it. Luckily for shiv and gauri the manager of the hotel had approached just in time discussing the situation and more importantly taking shashank away leaving shiv and gauri on there own. With the calmness of the moment shiv and gauri had a few minutes together..looking at each other with a sense of love that showed the affection which was lost throughout the year but even as that moment seemed to pass the receptionist was wanting to know what was happening. "toe aap room book karna chahte hai sir." Realising that the question was pointed at him shiv awakens from his daze and is about to answer the question but gauri gets there first. "nahin, yey mere pati hai..toe woh mere kamre mein rahenge.." the receptionist smiles in understanding yet gauri seems to feel a little awkward. Shiv too accepts and signing the hotel log book gives gauri a smile. The moment feels more than strange walking along side each other down the corridors of the hotel such with such a feeling of closeness yet what seemed like an awkward distance was present. However this seemed not to apply to shiv only gauri. Shiv was more than happy..relaxed walking beside gauri softy smiling at her now and again shiv could sense the sort of emotion gauri was flooded in whilst gauri was far to overwhelmed to even take glance towards shiv. Stopping at a certain door in the array of rooms gauri prompts it to be there room.

Opening the door to the room gauri allows shiv to take to the room before herself.. and watches him walk in from behind. Gauri is completely deluded by shivs presence. It was getting to a point where she could take her eyes off him. She noticed all those things that had changed about him. The fact that the particular comforting expression was as ever existent but his presence was much more softer.. there was still that charm but a loss of a certain mannerism he carried a year back. That influential feeling to his personality had faded a little maybe because of that change in appearance As shiv walked into the room and commented on its appearance gauri was lost and continued looking at shiv with affection. Shiv walked around the room noticing the fact that this room was familiar...its contents its surroundings were just the same as he liked them. The same features shiv had asked for whenever he and gauri had taken a trip together. The same setting, a desk feature, central bed..wardrobe and that chair. The chair shiv liked..beside the bed sat a armchair style seat just how shiv liked it. "gauri yey karma bilkul vaise hai...jaise mein rakhta hoon." Gauri simply nodded as shiv looked at her..unknown to gauri shiv was watching her and knew exactly what she was feeling. Walking across the room towards the desk shiv noticed how all his novels sat on the desk..and then too add to the moment he noticed that certain glass parting insead of a wall and was a little amused. Walking towards looking though it he found it amusing.. "toe tum ise shashank ki jaasusi karti ho..??" laughing lightly shiv was at so much ease that gauri questioned herself..did he not feel that sadness that she had gone through all this time.? Gauri by now had this winding anticipation to share her feelings with shiv but he seemed not to feel in the same way. Not knowing how to react to her husband who showed no signs of what emotion that gauri stepped a little closer the cups of her eyes filled with what were tears she had held back all this time she stood a few step away from shiv who on his exploration of the room had reached the bedside table and picked up the photograph that was sitting there. It was a framed photograph of himself looking at it with a sense of understanding shiv could see gauris reflection in the glass of that image. Her sadness had spread across her expression yet she was still quite. As per personality shiv knew she wouldn't say anything and knowing his wife and how to approach the situation shiv also said nothing for a minute and listened as gauri spoke from behind. "woh mein abhi aati hoon.." shiv knew it was an excuse to hide her tears from him and just as gauri had turned to leave the room shiv had caught her hand. "tum bilkul bhi nahin badli naa gauri.. aaj bhi mujse aapna dard chupana chahti ho?" looking into gauris tearfilled eyes, shivs words his tone..intensity all led gauri to free her tears and fall into shiv chest in an embrace. Shiv took gauri in his arms and watched over..sobbing a little.. "muje aapki kami bhot mehsoos ho rahin thi." Shiv understanding and feeling the same his eyes to start to feel numb.. "meine bhi tume bohot miss kiya gauri.." in shivs arms for some time gauri was comforted until the realisation of the moment passed and gauri parted shiv..slowing lifting herself shiv watching down on gauri expression which showed all traits of tears down her face and smiling loving reached into his pocket to hand her an handkerchief. Watching the innocence of his wife wiping away her tears shivs love for gauri showed more than ever. Even having encouraged her to wipe her tears away gauri again isists on falling into shivs arms and he lets her. Comforting her in the warmth of his arms shiv is amused by gauris second reaction. Being together after such a long time shiv and gauri both feel at ease not wanting to part from each other they stand in the comfort of one and other for some time.
