Shiv ki Gauri Chapter 19
Recap: prateek takes gauri to dehli and on arriving explains to shiv that gauri seeing samar was just an illusion caused by her fear and the way to solve gauris sate of mind once and for all is for her to confront samar. Prateek explains to shiv that gauri will only listen to him and he has to persuade gauri to come to face with samar. Shiv tries his best to interact with gauri but finds that she has gone back into her fear filled state and is scared of him. Gauri overhears shiv and prateek talking about the confrontation and is upset and scared at the thought of samar and begins to question herself to why shiv would want to her to confront the one thing that upset her the most. Prateek explains there reason for wanting her to confront samar but gauri is still too scared and shiv tells prateek that he loves gauri to the extent that he cannot see her in pain. He makes a decision not to force gauri into anything she dosnt want to do. Gauri is reassured when she hears shiv stating this to prateek and both shiv and gauri apologise. In the morning prateek and gauri are to leave for home when prateek again talks about the confrontation to shiv but shiv doesn't get a chance to answer with gauri being present. Both shiv and gauri are content with the feeling that they have tried to understand each other, gauri leaves a note for shiv along with his morning tea telling him that she will wait for him and shiv leaves an "I love you note" for gauri. However amongst all this gauri's fear is still prominent and prateek is still strong on his theory of making things better.

Prateek and gauri had returned home from there trip to delhi any slowly everything was going back to normal. Gauri's condition had improved greatly and the truth for both shiv and gauri was that the whole episode in Dehli had proved to help there relationship. Gauri was missing shiv incredibly and shiv was too missing gauri. Shivs unconditional love for gauri grew and gauri's love for shiv became more visible to herself and other members of the family too, she would silently wait for him to call whilst going about her daily routine other members of the family were well aware of it…
Shiv's phonecalls to kapoor mansion had doubled..one call in the morning to break gauri's fast had know become 3 calls a day…and this was one of those moments.
The house phone rings in Kapoor Mansion
"Phone baj raha hai, koi uthayega please"
Upstairs in maya and ayush's room, maya is busy grooming herself in front of the mirror whilst aiyush looks to be reading through business files.
"The phone continues ringing"
Maya: "koi phone kyun nahi uthatraha, aiyush phone…"
Ayush: "maya tum khud phone kyun nahi uthathi,"
Maya: "tum dekh nahin rahe ke mein kya kar rahi hoon."
Aiyush: "Kya kar rahi ho"
Maya: "Ready ho rahi hoon."
Aiyush: "MAYA party aaj shaam ko hai, evening mein aur abhi subhe ke kitne baje hai"
Maya: "gyara baje muje ready hone mein vakt lagta hai."
Aiyush gives maya an astonishing expression as he drops the file he's reading and heads for the bedside table to pick up the phone, by the time he gets there the phone stops ringing
Aiyush:" Lo ab phone ne bhi bajna band kardiya, agar tumne pehle se pick up kiya hota na maya, office se phone ho sakta tha.."
Maya: "koi baat nahi paanch minute mein phir se bajna shuru ho jayega", Maya looked more interested in what she was doing and getting up from her dressing table she walked towards her cupboard opening it to shuffle through an array of saari's.
Aiuysh looked at maya in question, how could she predict that and with so much confidence "hum??"
Maya: "Sube sube sirf ek insaan ka phone aata hai is ghar mein, Shiv ka aur voh bhi tumare leighyey nahi, gauri ke leighyey so tume pareshan hone ki koi saroorat nahin hai
The phone rings again
Maya: "Lo bajgaya", mayas prediction put a smile on aiyush's face. "aiyush kya tum bhi itne romantic nahin ho sakte kya????" ayuish starts digging though his trouser pocket and pulls out his mobile phone.
Maya: Yey kya kar rahe ho?
Aiyush: "Romantic ho raha hoon"
Maya: Kya?
"Dekha maya, jab yey shiv ka batcha phone rakehe ga naa tab mein dail karne vala hoon. Hamara house phone..tum pick up karlena..hogaya naa romantic."aiysuh's gesture breaks maya into soft laughter with the thought that her husband was really very sweet.
Maya: "Yey aapki koshish naa aiyush..kamyab nahin hone wali"
Aiysush: "Kyun"
Maya: "Kyun ke jab tak shiv aur gauri ki baate khatam hogi naa tab tak tumare office jane ka fakt ho jayega."
Aiyush: "Koi baat nahi office se phone karloonga."
Meanwhile In shiv and gauri's room, gauri was in-between her conversation with shiv. Or even shivs conversation with her.
Shiv: "gauri mein aaj tume apna vrat todne ki ijaasat nahin deta hoon"
Gauri: "ji?"
Shiv: "tum apna vrat nahin todo gi."Gauri was silent wondering why, little worried at shiv's tone of voice where as on the other hand a smiled played on shiv's face as he continued his conversation and feeling that gauri was a little nervous at his comment intervened breaking the silence.
Shiv: "Poochongi kyun nahin?"
There was another pause where gauri hadn't a clue what to say and shiv was aware of this which turned his smile to a more of an expressive expressive grin.
Shiv: "ok never mind mein tume bata hoon ke mein kaha par hoon" Gauri keeps up the silence thinking about shiv comment..confused, a little upset.
Shiv: "mein airport pein hoon aur aathe gante mein meri flight hai."
Gauri: "Ji?"
Shiv: "So tumara vrat mein kudh aakar todunga...intasar karongi naa?" Gauri is too overwhelmed with the fact that shiv is returning home and with the smile still notably present on her face…she is speechless, the thought of coming to face with shiv makes her nervously blush. Although gauri gave no worded response shiv could picture her reaction, the thought of sweet innocence and timidity made shivs anticipation to see gauri stronger. When he got no response asked once again.
Shiv: "Karongi naa, gauri"
Gauri: "Ji" Just as shiv was to carry on talking background sound of an airport tanoy was evident
Passenger announcement please can all passengers travelling to mumbai…
"gauri meri flight ka vakt ho gaya hai, dad ko bata ke mein ane valon hoon voh driver bhej denge..ghar ake baat karta hoon. Bye" shivs tone of voice seemed rather rushed and just about finishing his words put the phone down leaving gauri with a stunning expression, the smile on her face was indescribable and the anxiousness was shown when her heartbeat finally become more regular as her conversation with shiv was over. Putting the receiver back down….a voice called for gauri.
"GAURI BETA!"
Hearing mehen shouting gauri realised that being in her own world, she had forgotten to do all her morning tasks give ayiush uncle his moring drink, find the newspaper for dadaji, help dadi everyting..she was running late but this was mehen calling..which is rather unusual. yey bade papa ko kya chahyey hoga?
Gauri made her way to mehens room and on doing so couldn't keep her smile to herself, the thought of shiv returning and her feelings towards that could be seen on her expression. Gauri walked into mehens room to find him shifting through is wardrobe for something.
Mehen: Gauri beta good morning.
Gauri: Good morning bade papa
Papa aap ne bulaya? Gauri noticed that mehen was dressed formally in a suit which wasn't normal for mehen. To her knowledge he had retired some time ago and the only people who managed the business were Aiyush uncle and shiv.
Gauri: "bade papa aap office jaa rahe hai?",Mehen had pulled out a tie and closing the cupored turning to face gauri answered her question. Mehen: "hah, woh aiyush ko kuch madat ki saroorat hai, aur shiv bhi nahin toe mein jaa raha hoon. Magar ek problem hai"
Gauri: "Problem, kaisi problem bade papa?"
Mehen: "Yey", mehen pulling up a tie smiled at gauri. "muje tie baand ni nahi aati, kya karoon tumari bade maa ne apne beta ko toe shikadiya par muje nahin sikha payee, please meri madat kardogi beta.
"Ji", gauri moved towards mehen taking the tie from him but on approaching the expesstion on her face changed suddenly..from a soft smile to a slight nervousness. She could smell shiv's colone his frangrance it was making her feel nervous and not to mention blush. The fragrance brought back the presence of shiv and the thought of shiv being around pushed over gauris collectiveness to the point where is was struggling to knot mehens tie folding and unfolding the strands of his tie to correct herself . Mehen hadn't noticed, he seemed to have his own worries…
Mehen: "gauri tum janti ho, mein nervous feel kar raha hoon, kafi vakt ho gaya hai ke mein office gaya hoon.koi bussniess deal ki. Muje toe yey bhi nahi pata tha ke meri tie kaha pein hai…yaha tak meine shiv ka cologne churaliya." And wasn't gauri aware of it, that fragrance was making her go crazy..it was like one of those moments In the prence of shiv the ones that which took a lot of courage even to speak normally and soon as shiv was not around things were back to normal. Finishing knotting mehens tie mehen straigtned his look out infront of the mirror.
Mehen:"thank you beta" and gauri gave a smile in response but mehen noticed that gauri had gone all red and in complacent and questioned her. "tum theek ho naa gauri"
Gauri: ji badepa gauri knew she was behaving odd and tried hard to compose herself and remembering that she had to inform mehen of shivs return….
Gauri: Badepapa woh, mehen looked towards gauri as she began to speak and noticed that it was taking her time to put her words together and that ment it was something to do with shiv. "Kaho beta kya baat hai?"
Gauri: "Papa, woh…aaj ki flight se ghar aarahe hai, kuch ek ghante mein." Hearing that shiv was retuning mehens expression broke into a smile. "Ek Ghante mein aaraha heh?, kamal hai muje toe kuch nahin bataya…atcha mein driver behj ta hoon."
An hour later gauri repeatedly checking the time every couple of minutes, the anxiety and anticipation of shiv returning became a dominated feeling, he was due to return any moment.

Meanwhile in city hospital Prateek entered for his routine shift and on doing so was approached by a nurse who carried a rather disturbed expression.
Nurse: "Doctor prateek, atcha hogaya ke aap aagayey"
"Kyun nurse, kya hua.. kya mr gupta ka operation?" mr gutpa was one of prateek patients in a critical condition and the thought of one of his patients undergoing major surgery always worried prateek.
Nurse: "Nahin mr guta stable hai magar im afraid yey baat nahin hai." on hearing that Mr guta's operation was a succsess prateek felt a sigh of revlee which was short lived and confused took to his face. He had only one patient who was a crtial case and if It wasn't Mr guta then what was the matter.
Nurse: "Mr Shiv Kapoor aap ke dost hai naa doctor"
Prateek "shiv", prateek was Astounded shiv of all people..a intensity filled prateek. He was well aware that a nurses questioning of somebody's relation and in that manor ment they were trying to say something serous.
Prateek: "hah kyun..shiv ko kya hua?"
Nurse: "Aap mere saath ayey"
5 minutes later prateek was stood in his doctors white coat in the prence of shiv who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed.
Nurse: "fikar kar ne ki koi baat nahin hai doctor, doctor sinha ne illage kiya hai. aur yey rahe reports." The nurse hands prateek a clipboard with shiv's reports and reading them prateeks expression comes to relive. "sirf chote lagne ke bajse woh unconscious hai nothing else, kuch ganto to mein he will recover."
Prateek "Thank you so much nurse for informing me magar yey hua kaise?"
Nurse: "Not at all, thank you ki koi saroorat nahin hai. Actually doctor aapke dost bohot lucky hai, woh ek car accident mein injure hue hai..kafi log is haathse mein involoved the. Ek police van bus aur mr kapoor ki gaadi aapas mein takragayee thi."
Prateek: "I see but thank you once again"
Nurse: "Aap unke ghar valon ko saroor batayeyga"
Prateek: "Yes sure" prateek leaves the room and walking to the reception desk just outside the room makes a call.
On the other end of the call Mehen picks up:
Prateek: "Uncle prateek bol raha hoon…"…………………………..
Sometime later in prateeks office.
Mehen: "yey baat gauri ko mat batana. Khamakha pareshan ho jayeygi aur kuch ghanto ki hein toe baat hai na phir shiv hosh mein aajayeyga."
Prateek: Hah, kuch serious nahi hai magar, weakness hone ke karan ham shiv ko ek din ke lighyey hospital mein rakhenge..toe gauri?
Mehen: "Don't worry gauri ko yey keh ke aaya hoon ke shiv ki flight miss hogayee hai aur woh ab kal raat ko ayeyga"
There is a knock at prateeks office door and the hospital receptionist walks in.
Receptionist: doctor aapke aaj ki patient list. The woman hands prateek a clipboard with a multiple page list of patients and cases. The most serious cases had become prateeks responsibly at city hospital and in circumstances of an accident case with multiple victims prateek always wished he would get the minor cuts and burses cases but that never did happen. Prateek looking at the long list of patients begins to worry: " Aaj itne sare serious cases"
Receptionist: "Hah accident ki vaje se."
Mehen notes that prateek is busy and gets up to make his leave, "atcha beta tum kaam karon mein chalta hoon, shiv ko milne baad mein aajonga."
Prateek: "Don't worry uncle jab woh hosh mein aajata hai, I'll let you know."
Thanks beta with that mehen leaves and prateek turns to the list of patient cases on his desk, picks up the clip looking at the list in front of him finding the cases assigned to him when he comes across a name which turns his expression into shock.

Later in the day, shiv had regained consiousness to see kaya sitting at his hospital bedside and prateek carrying out a medical checkup having hold of his arm. Shiv was confused and unsure of what had happened to him. Trying to sit up in the hospital bed shiv questions prateek who looks some what disturbed.
Shiv: "prateek muje kya hua tha, yaha kaise pocha aur.."
Prateek: "Its ok shiv, your fine, airport se ate vakt tumara accident ho gaya you were unconscious and don't worry hamne sab kuch samabhaliya hai gauri ko nahin pata ke tum hospital mein ho shiv was confused but didn't question any further..he just wanted to go home.
Shiv: " muje ghar jaana hai"
Prateek: "Nahin shiv aaj nahin, its rountine ke possible weakness ke vajese ham tume kal tak yaha se jane nahi de sakte."
Shiv: "muje kuch nahin hua hai", and it was true that comment was put forward in true shiv kapoor strength there was nothing wrong until he felt a little pain when trying to move out of the bed.
Prateek: "That's what I mean, sorry shiv..yaha rehna padega." Shiv nodded agreeing a little annoyed he had waited to go home all this time and know he was home he couldn't see gauri. Shiv brushed the whole thought away putting the whole scenario down as just bad luck. After all it was only for another day. Shiv looked around the room looking at what would be his home for the next day. It was a regular hospital room with pale blue walls; a side table the famous health machinery which was attached to him. He didn't quite understand why through. After having prateek go on about how he should really rest for a day shiv becomes more aware to the fact that kaya is also there. Looking to the right of his bedside kaya was sitting with a rather distort expression. She way crying?
Shiv:"Kaya, kya hua tum ro kyun rahi ho?" On shiv asking kaya looked towards shiv in grief and not being able to answer shivs question kaya broke into tears and rushed her self out of the room. Prateek rushed to follow her when shiv stopped him.
Shiv: "kaya ko kya hua prateek?."
Prateek hesitated a little on answering shivs question and shiv could read prateeks expression clearly. There was something wrong. "Kuch nahin shiv, shayad woh tume aise dekh kar" prateek was trying hard to hide something but wasn't making a good job of it.
Shiv: "O I see, woh muje is tara zinda dekh kar ro rahi hai, ab satch baton prateek baat kya hai"
Prateek:"Shiv baad mein baat karenge naa, ab muje dekhne do naa"
Shiv: "Kaya meri choti behen hai prateek, muje jane ka pura haq hai."
Prateek: "ok, is haadse mein sirf tum nahin balke samar bhi shamil tha"
Shiv: "kya! Shivs, the seriousness on shivs face was notable samar aise kaise ho sakta hai?"
Prateek: "Shiv tumari gaadi ek bus aur police van se takrayee thi toe. Anyway baat yey hai ke samar ki haalat bahot critical hai, use head injury hue hai..usa illage ho gaya hai but theres no verdict. Is leighyey kaya…. Mein kaya ko dekhta hoon." Prateek left the room in rush to go and talk to kaya.
it all made sense but shiv still had no reaction to prateeks words he didn't feel anything for samar and the worst thing was that even if something was happen to samar, shiv felt like there would be no emotions to be spared for such a man. He could never forgive the man who caused gauri so much pain. Shiv sat in silence with his thoughts, thinking about how one person can cause so much pain and hurt so many people. Gauri had been deeply hurt my samar but shiv couldn't begin to imagine how kaya was feeling. Her own husband was the cause of her sister hurt but yet she loved him and shiv knew it. He knew that kaya would never stop loving samar and that was what he was afraid of. He didn't want to have to choose between a kaya and her happiness and his relationship with gauri. Something told shiv that he was about to face the type of situation he dreaded the most.
Outside the room, prateek had found kaya sitting crying in the corridor…
"Mein nahin chahti ke une kuch ho, shayad muje apne aap se nafrat ho gayee hai. unone job hi kiya uske baad bhi pyaar karti hoon une. Daarti hu, halat se prateek kyun k eek taraf mere pati hai aur dusri taraf meri behen. Kaya was in sheer disress she was at the brink of breaking down and her conious tears confirmed this.
Prateek: "dekho kaya, ham sab jante hai ke samar tumara pati hai. pyaar kiya tumne use woh galti nahin hai. tumari koi galti nahin hai is mein." Prateek continued to reassure kaya when a doctor approached and prateek rose from his seat to enquire about samar.
Prateek: "Dr Sinha aap bata sakte hai ke samar ka operation kaisa raha."
"Im afraid its Good news and bad news too doctor prateek."
Prateek: Please kahyey.
Doctor: "mr samar ki jaan toe batch gayee magar im afraid ke us ke dimag ke most important part mein chot lagne se vajese use kuch yaad nahin hai." on hearing the verdict from the doctor kaya and prateek are both releved and rushes up.
Kaya: "kya mein unse mil sakti hoon"
Doctor: "hah, magar woh abhi unconscious hai" kaya walks away to visit samar leaving prateek with doctor sinha.
Dr Sinha: "its unfortunate ke mr samar ne apni yaad dash kho di, aur woh bhi Is haad tak ke phir kabhi vapas nahin aaspaki."
Prateek: "Its not unfortunate at all dr sinha, not unfortunate at all", prateek's expression had turned into content which doctor sinha really didn't understanding. The loss of memory forever wasn't a good thing was it?
……………… prateek had come to inform shiv about samars condition and seeing shiv awfully worked up about kaya they had been talking for a considerable amount of time.
Shiv: "Mein kaya ko aise nahin dekh sakta nahin gauri ko taklif mein dekh sakta hoon. Kash yey saab hota hein nahi." Shivs words were heartfelt and it was obvious that he felt for kaya, gauri had him as a form of support but kaya…kayas relationships had been twisted and changed throughout her life leaving her with very little. "Tum jante ho prateek jab se kaya ne samar se shaadhi ki haamara riste kho gaya, shaadhi se pehele bade bhai hone ke naate woh mujse apni problems share karti thi aur aaj avoid kar rahi hai muje. Mein bas yey chahta hoon ke saab kuch pehele jaise theek ho jayey that's it."
Prateek: "Ho sakta hai, sab kuch theek ho sakta hai. looking at prateek shiv noticed prateek dweling with thought. Shiv samar ne apni yaad dash kho di hai toe gauri ab use confront kar sakti hai."
Shiv: "Kya?"Prateek had just taken a leap back to the last chapter, "meri baat suno shiv mein janta hoon ke your against it but socho. Samar ko kuch nahin yaad, agar woh kuch vakt ke leighyey shiv ban kar kapoor house chala jaye toe. I mean kaya ke saath jayeyga, gauri yey samjegi ki woh tum ho, vakt gusaregi samar ke saath. Then we will break it to her ke samar hai shiv nahin. She will realise that there is nothing to be scared of. This way ham kaya ko bhi apna rishta vapas de sakte hai. medical case mein help karne ke leighyey samar ki zasa kaam ho jayegi aur phir kaya aur samar ek nayee zindagi shuru kar sakte hai What do you say?"
Shiv was at the brink of explosion, send samar to kapoor house, how could prateek even think he would allow such a thing. shivs blood was boiling and prateek could see it in his expresstion. "Shiv before you start screaming mein tume yaad diladoon mein sirf tumara dost hein nahi balke gauri ka doctor bhi hu..agar meine yey suggest kiya hai then its not without a reason…soch lo"
Shiv was having none of it and the expression on his face was of ignorance, yes he wanted things to be normal but not at such a big risk…allowing samar to hang around gauri, there was no way shiv would alow that.
Prateek: "tumhe ne toe kaha shiv, ke tum yey chahte ho ke sab kuch theek hojayey..yehi ek rasta hai. trust me, itna toe baroza karte ho naa muje pein."
Shiv: "That's not the point prateek, baat yey hai ke gauri kya samjegi…mein uska dil nahin dukhana chahta. Ok tumare yey plan succsess hua magar tum is baat ki garentee de sakte ho ke gauri theek hojayeygi..is tara baat aur bhi bigar sakti hai.
Guarantee toe nahin de sakta magar yey ek risk hai joe hame leni hogi, shiv tume yaad hai us din jab gauri ne tume mein aur samar mein farak kar ke bataya tha woh bhi ek risk hein thi naa aur dekho us risk ne tume gauri de, pyaar ka aisaas karaya. Prateek was right shiv was still not convinced…nahi prateek mein yey nahi hone doonga…" shiv was about to give his final word when a voice from the rear of the room interrupted.
"Mere leighyey bhi nahin"
On hearing the comment both prateeks and shivs attention is diverted to the entrance of the room where kaya happens to be standing. Still in tears a pleading worry is apparent no her face as she walks to shivs bedside and takes a seat as prateek gets up for her. Shiv notices kayas tears and they fill him with a deep sadness softening all the stubbornness which came with talking to prateek about his theory.
Kaya: "Aap kehte hai naa ke hamara rista badal gaya…magar aaj bhi aap ko bhaya bulasakti hoon naa?"
Shiv: "Aisa kyun keh rahi ho kaya of course.. aur yey asoon." Kaya tears were making there mark and seeing her in such a state was unbearable for shiv.
Kaya: "toe aapki choti behen hone ke naate mein aapse kuch mangna chahti hoon , denge naa"
Shiv was emotionally overrun he knew what she was going to ask for but kaya was someone shiv cared for dearly.. her sorrow softened him everytime and there was no way he could refuse and nodded a yes.
Kaya: "Please jaisa prateek keh rahe hai…please"
Wiping kaya tears shiv ran into his own and silently agreed to kaya..theek hai and this seemed to put a smile not only on prateeks face but also kaya.
Shiv: "So tum dono ne is bare mein kafi socha, muje rula kar manvana.mein tumare saath hum magar gauri ko kuch hona nahi chayey.." shivs words were more aimed at prateek then kaya because shiv knew that something so risky could only be the workings of prateek. "Tum fikar mat karo, meine sab kuch soch leighyay hai, after tomorrow kapoor parivar mein sab kuch theek ho jayeyga and that's a promise."
Prateek looked rather confident and before shiv could reinforce his warning of being care they were interrupted by a nurse who had come with what looked like a tray of food, shiv luch.
The nurse walked in and asked for kaya, "kya aap miss kaya hai?"
Kaya: "ji hah"
Nurse: "Aap ko kuch formalites puri karni hai, aap sara reception desk pein…"
Ji mein abhi jati hoon, kaya left the room and in doing so left prateek and shiv. Shiv looked rather distastefully at the tray in front of him. Hospital food didn't look to appetising but his expression changed when his eyes fell upon the glass of orange juice. Instantly reminding him of gauri, he had asked gauri to wait for him and being late evening…shiv knew that she wouldn't have eaten.
Shiv: "prateek phone doe"
Prateek: "Kya"
Shiv: "Phone doe naa", prateek confused pulled his phone out and handed it to shiv.
Prateek: "Kise phone kar rahe ho?, anyways I'll be back..kaya ko dekh aata hoon." Prateek left the room leaving shiv dialling the kapoor house number, on the other end of the line gauri picks up the call and jumping straight to the point shiv didn't waste time.
Shiv: "Gauri, tum ne khaya?"
Gauri didn't reply and that meant a know
Shiv "Pura din kuch nahin khaya naa", Shiv was now hating himself for trying to be all romantic and refusing her in the moring he should have known better.
Shiv: "Gauri im sorry, woh flight delay ho gayee toe.."
Gauri: Ji woh..badepapa ne bataya tha….
Shiv: "Sorry gauri waise tum kaha kha lo aur agli baar aisa nahi hoga promise.
Kahlogi naa…for sure"
Gauri: "Ji"
Shiv: "Good, Toe mein phone rakhta hoon…shiv was just about to cut the call"
Gauri: "Ji woh…"
