Shiv Ki Gauri
Chapter 17
Recap:
Alok: "pyaar karta hoon mein apni beti se is leyiey toe batana nahi chahta" Alok turns to face gauri with a distort expresstion, tears were slowly becoming visible..
Gauri: kya baat hai baba?? Kuch na kuch toe hai jo aap chupana chahte hai, aur vaha bade papa bhi.
There was a stunned silence in the room.
Alok: "tum sahi soch rahi ho, is tasvir mein kaya hai, meri choti beti tumari choti behen"
Gauri: "choti behen?"
…………..
"yey saatch hai ke kaya tumari behen hai gauri."
"Baba??" Gauri looks totally confused, dekho beta yey
Gauri: Baba yey aap kya..keh rahe hai ..kaya??? alok looks distressed n his sadness takes a seat on the bed looking rather helpless. Gauri follows him and there is silence for a second… and then alok continues.
Alok: "jab tum choti thi toe tumari maa gusargayee gauri mein kuch nahi kar paya, tumare saath samar ne…. tume har vakt taklif mein dekha hai beta is leiyey mein tumare taklif aur badana nahi chahta tha."
Gauri: "Aap kehna kya chahte hai baa, muje kuch samaj," alok interrupts gauri with a ganualey upset and broken tone of voice."Jab tum choti thi toe woh hadsa ne phir ek baar dastak de.. jaise tumari maa hame chodkar chali gai vaise hien nikhila bhabhi. Tumaribadi maa ko brain tuma tha beta yey toe tum janti ho..magar ek raxz yey bhi hai ke uske aakhri dinon mein jee rahi thi. Tumare bade papa ne uska har khwab pura kiya magar ek chah thi uski joe namumkin thi. Beti hone ki chah, une beti chayey thi."
Gauri: "….toe kaya???" Gauri was shocked.
Alok: "mein apne dost ko is halat mein dekh nahi paya, mein jaanta tha ke kisi ko is tara se khone ka dukh kya hota hai..tumari maa bhi toe.
Tab mein ekh faisla kiya.yey soch kar ke kaya vaha kush rahengi..mehen use bohot paar dega, sab kuch miliga use joe mein nahi de paaya aur mehen ka gham bhi door hoga aur nikhila bhabhi ke aakhri itcha…. Alok broke down into tears….
Aur isi faisle ne aaj meri dono betiyon ko dukh ke sivay kuch nahi diya. Nahi batana chahta tha tum dono ko mein, kya batata ke mere vaajese aaj tum dono…."
Gauri: "Baba, aapke vaje se kuch nahi..yey"
Alok: "Nahi gauri, muje jootha dilasa mat do, chupayee ham ne tumse yey baat kyun mein yehi toe nahi chahta…Tum kaisi ho mein janta hoon, tum apne aap ko dosh dogi kyun ke tume lage ga ke tumari vaje se tumari choti behen ka pati salakhon ke peeche hai… kaya kush nahi hai aur tum ape aap ko doshi maano gi…Aur kaya woh appne aap ko ghnegar manegi..tumare saath joe hua…"
Alok: "Kaya kya sochegi mere baare mein, kaisa baap hoon mein..meri vaajse se aaj tum dono ki zindagi."
Gauri: "Nahi baba, aap ko satch batana hoga"
Alok: "Nahi.. Nahi gauri mein,,,,,,Kya muhn dikhaaonga use, kya sochegi mere baare mein???"
"Ke woh itni khooshnaseeb hai joe use aap jaise pita mile"
Gauri and Alok both, overwhelmed with sadness look towards the entrance of the door to find kaya standing at the doorway in tears.
Kaya: "Aap ko kya laga ke mein aapse…ek baar apne kaha hota" kaya's words were unclear amongst her sobbing. Alok was shocked to see kaya there, she had heard everything?, seeing her in tears he got up and wiping his own trying to cover up everything and walked towards her.
Kaya "Baba"
Hearing the words baba from kaya ears his fatherly instinct pulled him towards her and gave her a hug both filled with overwhelming happiness as well as sorrow… tears fled from both…as gauri watched upon the moment a smile came to play on her face amongst her tears.

7 am in the morning and it was breakfast time in kapoor mansion, everyone was sat at the table, dadaji, dadi, mehen..aiyush and maya. All looked as per there own personalites..maya was nagging aiyush uncle, mehen was his usual self keeping him self to himself eating. Gauri looking as amazing as usual came down in a deep emrald sari and seeing that ramu kaka was not around began to serve breakfast.
Dadaji: "are gauri beta tum bhi betho naa, o atch abhi tak puja nahi ki I see."
Maya: "Nahi papa yey kehna chahieyey abhi tak permission nahi mili."
Dadaji: "Mein kuch samja nahi??"
Maya: "Jab tak shiv ijaasat nahi deta, tab tak gauri kuch nahikaygi."
Dadaji: "Yey kya baat hue beta, shiv toe yaha nahi toe tum bhukhi thodhi naa rehsakti ho."
Gauri: "Nahi dadaj…mein, woh"
Dadaji: "Theek hai bhay..jaise tumari marsi magar kha lena"
Gauri:Ji
Mehen: "atcha gauri, toe kaya kab vaapas aarahi hai?"
Gauri: "Papa woh, kuch din baba ke paas rehna chahti hai, magar ghar ane ka usne koi sikar nahi kiya."
Mehen: "Atcha vaise mein, toe khush hoon saari baat sulaj gayi, vaise tume bhi apni behen ke saath vakt ghuarna chahiyey aur tum toe apne baba ke paas rehne wali thi.."
Gauri: Mene socha ke kyun naa baba aur kaya ko kuch vakt saath doon
Dadi: "Bilkul theek kiya beta"
Maya: "Magar ma mere khyal se ab vakt aagaya hai ke shiv aur gauri bhi alkele vakt dena chahieyey..unka honeymoon." Gauri starts blushing when she hears the word honeymoon..before she could look even more embarrassed ramu kaka had come to save the situation
Kaka: "yey shiv shaab ka phone.." hearing shiv's name put a little nerousness though gauri, this could be clearly seen on her expression which had rapidly change within seconds.
Dadi: "laaon muje doe", dadi takes the phone from ramu kaka.
Shiv: "Hi dadi"
Dadi: "tume kaise pata chala ke mein bol rahi hoon"
Shiv: "Apni girl friend ko pehchane ne mein kaise bhool kar sakta hoon."
Dadi: "Hum, janti hoon tume..tum mein aur tumare dadaji mein koi farak nahi hai..meethi metthi bate tab karte ho jab tume kuch chayiey.. gauri se baat kar naa chahte ho naa. Aur hah use kuch khane ko keh doe, kabka kuch nahi khaya lo." Dadi passes the phone to gauri.
Shiv: "Gauri yey, kya sun raha hoon mein, tumne abhi tak kuch nahi khaya?" but inside shiv knew that wouldn't have aten and that was his reason for calling.
Gauri: "Ji woh mein"
Shiv: "Atcha yey bhi theek hai…so meri mehnat bekar nahin gayee..""Gauri is confused at shivs statement and keeps nervously quite.
Shiv: "Atcha tum ab ghar mein kaha par ho?"
Gauri: "Ji ..ji woh dining..dining table..", gauri began to stumble upon her words
Shiv: "Ok..puja ghar mein jaaon."
Gauri: "Ji?"
Shiv: "Jaaon," Gauri confused not wanting to question shiv made her way to the puja ghar
Shiv: "Pochoch gayi?"
Gauri: "Ji"
Shiv: "Good ab apni puja khatam karon."
Gauri was still confused but shiv had put the phone down before she could say anything else, and she doubted very much that she would be able to get her words out to ask him anyway. Walking over to the alter she decided to start her puja when her eyes fell on a plate next to her puja plate it contained a glass of orange juice a note.
Gauri picked up the note to read:
Teen din mien yaha nahi hoon gauri…aur mein janta hoon ke in teen dino mein tum mere naa hone ke babajood..bhi apni pooja kayam rakhogi …meri hah ke bina kuch kahongi nahi
Tume meri kami naa mehsus ho is leighyey mene tumare leighyey har ek din ke leiyey ek ghat likhe hai… ise mere taraf se request samaj lena aur apni pooja kar ke kuch kha lena….shiv
P.s..meri khoobsarat si patni ke leighly ek khoobsorat sa tofa.

The note put a smile on her face and as she looked at the accompanying red rose she felt a slight embarrassment.

Later on that day gauri made her way out of the mandir and into her car to be stopped a small boy the street.
Boy: "mam yey aap ke leighey" The boy left gauri with a rose simlair to the one this morning, but this one was labelled:

Gauri looked at it bewilderment, confused yey.. "kahin mr kapoor " confused she overlooked It and made her way to the hospital. Prateek sat at his desk flicking through a certain patient record waiting for gauri.
The door to his office was opened and gauri walked in:
Prateek: "Are gauri, come in. prateek as usual looked as cheerful as he did on a daily basis he got up to greet gauri. "Betho gauri"
Gauri: "hi prateek, sorry aaj late hogaya"
Prateek: "no its ok.. Actually I have something for you" gauri looked at Prateek confused
Prateek: "yey.." prateek pointed towards the left of the room, where there sat a bokay of roses
Prateek: "lagta hai shiv ne bheje hai, looks like he's missing you."
There was a knock the door and prateek was interrupted, what looked like a nurse opened the door.
Nurse: "Sorry to interrupt doctor but its important"
Prateek: "Gauri, mein ek minute abhi aya"
Gauri: "Ok", prateek leaves the room
20 minutes later …………..
Prateek walked into his office to find it empty, he looked around but gauri wasn't there:
Prateek: "gauri???"
Pratreek heard faint noises, sobbing like someone was crying…. When he moved further into his office he found gauri sitting in a huddle crying in the corner of the room.
Gauri??? Prateek was shocked what had happened his face mounted to a tremendous worry and scare. He walked over to gauri an knelt down. Gauri had placed her head within her folded hands..sh was continuously crying shivering.
"GAURI KYA HUA???
LOOK AT ME GAURI"
Prateek: "gauri ..tell me kya hua?"
Gauri lifted her face, and prateek was confronted by the most fearfilled expression he had ever seen in his life.
Prateek: "Kya hua gauri?"
Gauri: "Woh yaha..aaya tha"
Prateek: "Kaun gauri..??? kaun"
Gauri: "Saa….. Saamarr….."
Prateek: Kya???, prateeks face dropped into even more shock.
"Usne tumare saath kuch….."
Gauri nodded negatively whilst sobbing
Prateek: "Its ok gauri, its ok.." prateek tried his best to calm gauri but it was difficult.
Prateek, pulled out his phone and dialled a number:
"Hello uncle kya aap city hospital aa sakte hai abhi"

An hour later
Prateek stood with mehen outside gauri's room at kapoor mansion, mehen carried an intense questioning look and prateek understood.
Prateek: "Nahi uske saath aisa kuch nahi hua hai//Aap fikar mat kejiyey unclue, gauri ka daar abhi bhi kaayam hai is leiyey woh aisa mehsoos karti hai, magar don't worry woh aab theek hai so rahi hai woh. Fikar toe muje is baat ke hai ke samar???, mene abhi police station phone kiya, samar vhah par hai toe, phir gauri ne use kaise dekha.. aur hospital mein toe kafi log the koi naa koi toe dekh ta."

During the night prateek spent hours in his office thinking of the incident, thinking about how samar could have been there…???
Kya yey sirf gauri ka bhram hai aur kuch nahi..kya uska daar us haad tak pahoch gaya. The more he thought about it the more his worries increased.
Picking up the phone prateek made a call, on the other end shiv picked up:
Prateek: "Shiv, meri baat suno its about gauri…muje lagta hai ke ab vakt aagaya hai ke woh aapna fear confront kare…."
