CHAPTER 15

After I make Manik eat some sweet I made him lay on Mukti bed. He is still weak but better than before. I don't know what happen to him suddenly. I think his sugar level may be down hmmm... that's why he asked for sweet.
Suddenly the door burst open and Mukti came huffing and puffing. Her eyes roam around the room and then settle on the Manik who is sleeping on Mukti bed.
"OMG! What happen to him?" She shrieked loudly and in reflex I cover my ears.
"Zeez girl keep it low or you're going to wake him up. "I whisper/yelled at her.
"Oh Sorry." She told me while holding her ears.
"What happen to him?" She asked me while looking at Manik with worry clear in her face.
"His sugar level may be down. I make him eat some sweet and after that he is sleeping like a baby." I told her while looking down at my notes.
I find myself engulf in hug and Mukti start mumbling, "Thank you so much Nandani for looking after him when I am not here. I owe you."
"It's OK Mukti. It's not a big deal. I'll do the same for anyone who was in that condition." I told her while shrugging my shoulder.
"Hmm. What should I do now? Manik is sleeping and I can't wake him up but he need to have his meds and where am I going to sleep?" Mukti mutter to herself and then I feel her gaze on me.
"Nandani can you again do me a favour. As you are still studying can you give Bhai this meds when he wakeup as I don't want to disturb his sleep. I am actually going to sleep in Bhai Room as you can see Bhai is here." She told me while looking at me with pleading eyes.
"Ok" I told her simply.
"Thank you so much." She told me while smiling as she leaves the room.
That's when reality of the situation dawn on me. I am alone in the room with Manik, with boy.
Boy is kind of a keyword here. What would Mamma Papa say if they get a whiff about it? And top of that I am with Manik who is not well and I don't even know how he will react when he wakeup.
It was half past 12 and here I am going through the revision of unit-1.
Call me nerd or whatever you want but I don't like to go unprepared for any test or exam.
I hear Manik groan in his sleep. I look at him in alarmed. What should I do now? Should I go to him to check if he is alright or not but what if he snaps at me for intruding his privacy? I bite my lip in nervousness.
"Ahh.What the?" I hear Manik exclaim loudly.
I rush up to the Manik side immediately, "What Happen? Are you alright?" I asked him.
"I am fine. Just my head hurts." He groans.
"Here take your medicines. Mukti left it." I give him his medicine while forwarding water glass.
"I don't have Dinner. So I can't take it with empty stomach." He told me while looking at me with some unknown emotions playing on his face.
"I'll grab some food for you. Till then you rest." I told him while running out of room.
I came in room with a dinner for Manik. He is resting with his back on headrest.
He looks soo cute while sleeping just like an Angel but when he opens his mouth everything get ruined.
"Manik" I called him softly but don't get any response.
I shrug his shoulder softly as I called him again.
He slowly opens his eyes as he looked at me.
"Your Dinner."I told him while handling him his plate.
There is silence in room. Manik is having his Dinner while I am surfing Internet.
I peek at Manik from the corner of my eyes to see him already looking at my way. I look down abruptly while red color makes it way on my face.
I hear him chuckle. Probably notice my blush.
Stupid Nandani. Why the need to peek at him.
I lay on bed waiting for Manik to finish his Dinner, before I know I drift into peaceful sleep.
I groan in my sleep as I feel someone is touching my face. Then I feel someone soft touch on my forehead.
" Nandani! Wake up! You're going to be late." Mukti yelled at me as I lazily open my eyes to see her standing in front of a mirror doing something with her hair.
I look up at clock to see clock read 8:00 am. And If I remember correctly my first lecture start at 9: am.
I place my feet on the cold ground and look at Mukti weirdly.
"When did you and I become best of friend that you're concern about me been late?" I asked her while making my way towards bathroom.
"Can't we make truce about it? I know we met at wrong foot but at least we can start fresh." She told me.
"I don't trust you Mukti. And to make truce I need time." I told her as I shut bathroom door.
I walk in my BEEE class at the nick of time.
As usual last bench is free So I make my way towards it and as clumsy as I am I don't see the that someone put their leg in my way and I lost my balance but before I can fall flat on my face I found myself in the arm of non-other than Manik Malhotra who is looking like he can kill someone with his fury. He makes me stand on my foot as he looks at the boy who put his leg in my way.
"What were you thinking before putting your damn leg in her way?" He asked him.
"Hey Manik! Chill out! That was just for fun. "That boy replied to Manik while laughing.
"Next time if you put your leg in Nandani way just for funs then I make sure that I'll break your leg for my fun. Understand." His cold reply makes shiver run down my spine.
That boy just nods his head while looking down timidly.
I didn't know that Manik have such a serious temper.
He looks so dangerous. Just like a bad boy.
"Hmm and you love bad boy. Don't you?" My subconscious gives her 2 cent which I shut immediately.
Seriously!
I take my seat on last bench and ladies and gentlemen it doesn't need genius to guess who sat beside me.
"Why did you threaten that boy? You also make fun of me so what does it make difference. You are such a Hypocrite "I asked him in hush whisper as teacher start taking attendance.
"Because Only I have the right to trouble you, to tease you. No one else. "He told me while smirking as he shouts loudly "Nandani Murthy is Present mam. Right now she is just busy in day dreaming. "And then he winks at me.
And that day I realize that I Nandani Murthy for the first time forget to call my attendance and that to because of that stupid, idiot, and arrogant but very sexy boy.
"A Bad Boy I must Say" My subconscious speak while drooling on Manik and as usual I shut her up immediately.

I walk as fast as I can to reach the cafeteria. I just need food right know. I finally succeed in reaching the cafeteria .I take my plate as I look around for any vacant spot. Whole cafeteria is full and there is no place for me. Great.
"Hey Nandani Come over here." I hear someone yell.
I look in the direction of voice to find out Dhruv waving at me with a smile plaster on his face.
IS he mad? He wants me to sit with his group? They all eat me alive leaving their food.
I made my way to him as there is no place vacant in cafeteria and I am starving.
"Hey "I greet Dhruv softly as everyone present around the table look up at me.
"Hey Nandani come seat with us." Dhruv speak chirpily.
"Are you sure that your friends don't mind my presence? "I ask him gesturing to his friend.
"Chill out Nandani. Just have lunch with us." Mukti told me as she gesture to the vacant chair which I tell you are between Manik and Dhruv.
I smile at her as I take the chair.
Manik glare at me.
I smile extra sweetly at him.
Well dude stop glaring at me, your sister invite me so you should be glaring at her not me.
Suddenly his lips turn into a wide smirk and he wink at me.
Ok this dude is bipolar I am telling you, one second he is glaring at me and other winking.
I clear my mind as I start focusing on my food.
As I am silently eating my lunch like a innocent baby Manik suddenly take my Maza and take a large sip from it.
I look at him with my mouth wide open.
"Go and grab your own drink. " I told him as I snatch my drink from him.
"Baby Girl ! Don't you learn in kindergarten that Sharing is Caring." He asks me as he tries to take my drink.
"No I didn't remember because that time I am not interested in their boring lectures. So stop trying to get my drink." I told him as I take a large sip of my drink and finish it.
I smile at him for my victory when he suddenly starts smirking at me.
"You do remember that I ort your drink. So technically we share it. Isn't it great Baby girl? "He told me while getting up as I mouth got open in O shape.
"By the way we have to practice for our duet in Annual fest. So meet me in Music room at 2 pm." He told me and then walk out of cafeteria like he own it.

I make my way in Music Room hurriedly.
I am actually 30 minutes late as I forget about music practice.
When I enter in music room after praying Aiyyapa that Manik will not get angry at me.
"So queen finally decides to grace us with her presence." Manik speak as soon as I enter inside the room while bowing down in front of me.
"Yes, she though that you wait enough for her so why don't she gave you a glimpse of her." I told him with attitude.
Well it's good that Manik is not angry with me.
He looks at me up and down and then yells, "Where the hell were you? Don't you value other time. I am waiting for you for past 30 minutes and you don't have enough decency to let me know that you're coming late?"
"I ...I was..."I stutter as he pin me to the wall with my wrist.
"What I I. I know that you're not serious about this music thing but let me tell you I am damn serious for music. It's my life and if you try to run it I will not spare you. "He told me with fire spitting from his eyes.
"I am sorry. I forget that you called me for music practice and I don't have your number to let you know that I am getting late." I told him as tears roll down my eyes.
"It's hurting. Please leave my hand." I stutter out and he looked at me before losing his grip on my wrist.
I rub my wrist and before I know I faint.

I open my eyes to find myself in my room.
Music room incident start revolving in my brain.
I examine my wrist to find it bandage. I rub my hand on my wrist as I thought about Manik.
He is one hell confusing creature on this planet. First he gave me a pain then he will heal it too.
It doesn't get the Sherlock to find out who get me here in my room and bandage my wrist.
There is suddenly a ping in my mobile; I take my mobile from the table to check that I receive a message from unknown number.

Unknown No:
Hope you're fine. Take a medicine that is place on bedside table with milk and I'm Sorry for hurting you. Take Care.

I blink my eyes twice, thrice to check again and again to see that Manik message me and top of the cherry saying sorry to me.
He must be not in his sense, that explains him messaging me sorry.
I save his name under Monster Manik 😡 and then reply him

I'm fine. Thanks for carrying me in my room and bandaging my wrist but in the end that was your fault. I am actually screaming in joy that you Manik Malhotra just say Sorry to me. I must be dreaming.

Baby Girl Don't gets your hopes so high. I know when to accept my mistake and to say sorry not like others. I should have not hurt you but you're late and that to by half an hour so my anger is accepted. You should thank me that I have enough decency that I don't left you in music room.
