Her head was pounding when she woke up. Her vision was partially blurry. As nandini opened her eyes, she saw her mother's crying face. There was another unknown face too.

As she hugged her mother she finally broke down. The past days have been difficult n at such moments nothing can be better than your mother's arms around you. Same was the case of nandini.

Shanno hugged her daughter with all her might. She felt her world collapse when Manik carried an unconscious nandini at home. Her husband as usual was passive as soon as manik threatened him with that contract. "Oh! How she hates this man"

"Manik don't do this, u'll regret it" harshad tried to explain manik once again. Everything for the marriage was almost ready.

"tch, tch, tch harshad, not me but u n that woman will regret." Manik said.

Cabir pulled Manik to the side,

Everyone looked grim and pitied Nandini. Everyone except manik and his siblings, even cabir looked sad.

As manik looked up the stairs nandini was wrestling down the stairs with her mum and navya on both sides. Her teary eyed mom was trying to control her.

As she was brought to the mandap he saw her eyes that looked directly at his. They were fiery, as if saying him this marriage will not break her.

She looked around to see Mukti and alya standing in a corner. Mukti looked devastated and alya was crying her eyes out.

Finally she looked at manik. His smiling eyes irked Nandini.

Nyonika stood blankly looking at the situations with tears streaming down her eyes. Harshad stood silently supporting her.

All of a sudden Nandini ran down the stairs and took a burning wood off the havan kund. It happened so suddenly that none got any time to react.

She ran and stood beside mukti and alya at the corner of the room.

Directly looking at Manik she said, shadi karni hai mujhse, aao ab karwate hai shaadi.'

khabardaar' she dared manik pointing the burning wood towards them.

As Abhi tried to move stealthily from the side,'dont u dare abhi' mukti spoke up this time.

Alya took the vase lying nearby and pointed it at dhruv and abhi who tried to move. I swear ye tumhare head pe phodne wali hoon it anyone tries to step near nandz.'

Guys what is wrong with you people...how can u ppl support nandu against bhai' Navya spoke up this time.

The 3 friends looked at her in disbelief.

navya' nandini spoke almost in a whisper. But it was mukti the first one to recover. I cant believe this...tu aise baat kar rahi hai navs.'.

But all discussions were cut short when manik spoke. Fine Nandini don't marry me, par ek baar uska consequence nahi sunogi?'

Her questioning eyes prompted him to continue.

He took a bunch of papers from his pocket and gave them to her.

Her pale face within the next 30 seconds said it all. It was the contract that only the elders and cabir knew about.

Manik felt his insides clench looking at nandini's face.

She looked up to stare directly at her father, so I was 9 when u sold me'

Everyone gasped at her blunt language.

Nandini', venkat murthy shouted at her.

She did not even react. But spoke her mind but I love mom and won't leave her on the roads'.

Hearing this manik pulled her to the mandap. The wood burnt lying in a corner.

As the marriage proceeded nandini felt a little more helpless every moment.

Sitting in the mandap manik planned their honeymoon, whereas nandini thought how to acquire a divorce from manik.

But the next half has to be another chapter as that would not have fitted with the title. Now suhaagraat deserves another chapter...hai na!!!!
